I love this place since it was the only place we could find open and we could have perfect smoked fish with nice garlic and herb bread! The staff was really nice and welcoming.The beautiful view outside the store and the clean tables was really pleasant and we enjoyed our food even more!

Came here several times on our vacation. Always very courteous. We grabbed a drink and sat at one of their tables and watched the lake. Grabbed a few things we ran out of another day. Delicious smoked fish. Perfect place. Thank you.

This is my favorite place to stop for supplies. When on Madeline Island other store in town has a crabby store keeper who I try to avoid. The staff here is always friendly. They have a really nice alcohol selection and lots of other food options.

My family of six went into the Madeline Island Market on a Tuesday hoping to get some breakfast sandwiches (on their menu) since no other island restaurants were open. The trio behind the counter was unfriendly and unwelcoming and we felt like intruders being in their store. Being new to the store, we weren't sure how ordering worked, so we went to the counter. When we asked about ordering a breakfast sandwich for each of us, they told us they would come out one at a time, which was fine. We totally understood, being it's a small kitchen/store. But they were so rude, condescending and acted like we were inconveniencing them that I finally just cancelled our order and left. They were impatient, short and just plain nasty. We felt like we should just leave so we didn't bother them. The one clerk made the comment that they wouldn't have to do this if the other restaurants didn't "refuse" to open up on Tuesdays. I felt so uncomfortable, which was unfortunate, because we would have spent a good chunk of money in their neat little store.In fact, most businesses on the island treated our family like they were unwanted tourists invading their island. We are always kind and courteous to service people, having worked in customer service for many, many years ourselves, so it was a bit hard to comprehend. The one shining light was the coffee house where they made us breakfast after we left the Island Market.

Awesome place to stop for ice cream and snacks. You can tell the staff works hard and did a great job keeping up with a super busy crowd of people.4 stars for not wearing masks during the pandemic but we would come here again.

Very nice area, I grew up in eastern Michigan and had some trips out west. It was very nice to experience it as an adult and really take in the monster that is Lake Superior. There is a small town on the island, small landing strip for pilots and a ferry I believe to access the island. Even during this Covid mess it still had some shops open, masks required. Good trip, beautiful area.

Very friendly people. Good ice cream, excellent sandwich, and excellent smoked whitefish spread. They even let me buy some bacon the day before they opened. ( first sale of the year 😁)

This is such a great market. I am very impressed with their selection of many different types of products. The deli makes great sandwiches and the smoked fish is amazing for a great price. It will always be my go to when on the island.

They were the rudest people we met. We came in for coffee and they had coffee syrup on the counter by the coffee and said it was an extra charge. So I apologized alot and gave them the extra money for it and they told a local that we were just grabby people that think everything is ours. I apologized again and explained that in our local coffee shops the syup is included and I misunderstood that. They continued to treat us as we were horrible people and I would not suggest that you not get coffee here!Added to the owner response: all kwik trips, bp stations, mobile stations, convenience stores.etc offer free coffee syrups. Even in our high traffic tourist town so this was what added to the confusion.

Very disappointed in a review you responded to. About coffee flavor syrup. If not free where I personally have been many places it’s included in price of coffee but if not maybe you should mark it. Plus ok you told the first person it’s extra. Ok. So then your all bent about another person getting some. If they are ok with spending the extra why do you care. If you don’t want people to use it don’t put it out there for people to use. Then your response was very rude as well. Clearly you missed customer service 101. I’ll make a note not to go here and will share with people on fb as well. Glad to read your response of how unfriendly and rude you are. Proves the complaint was justified 😡

Proprietors evidently do not care for the health and wellbeing of their customers as they did not wear or require masks, even though there is currently a COVID-19 outbreak on the Island.I will give all my business to Lori's Store from here on out.

If you want to come face to face with Smaug and his hoard of gold, go here and try to use their coffee creamer. The couple that owns this joint will tag-team verbally abuse you until you feel 2 inches tall for using their coffee creamer without paying first. They should let Kwik Trip and every other gas station/convenience store chain know they are doing it wrong before they yell at the source of their income (tourists). Ay, caramba, it was so bad. Everywhere else was super nice, though. Go everywhere else. C:

We literally were walking up to store at 3:45 on a Friday and they closed. We got in our truck to catch the ferry and drove by and it was open....group of 10 followed by at least 6 other customers. Shame on them. Business losf
