West Avenue pharmacy has really caught up as far as being fast and efficient, compared to 3-4 years ago and the other locations that STILL can’t keep up that have a week or more wait or are closed weekends. The delivery option is GREAT but it’s never 1-3 days as suggested. So submit refills ASAP.However, calling and getting a person on the line, is really a hassle.I’m so much more satisfied with West Avenue than my former location. I hated to leave it but I had no choice since I couldn’t go without certain medications.

Trying to speak to a human in the phone is mission impossible. Have ran the wrong insurance for my meds and told me to have to come back the next day to try it again, then they ran the wrong insurance AGAIN, had to come back another day. One month they gave me the wrong dosage and another month they gave me 3x the amount of meds I have prescribed. Never not have a “delay” and the app is frequently wrong/not coordinated with the pharmacy. My PCP clinic has been unable to reach them for two weeks and then another provider I see has also been unable to reach them. Finally switching pharmacies

Today I ordered my script to be delivered from your location at 900 West Ave S in La Crosse WI 54601. First off the pharmacy tech was upset when I stated I had a change of address which she replied verbatim "oh look I have to make another label now." In a hostile tone. Then she said that she'd have to get door dash to come pick it up when I'm clearly a member of Walgreens and qualified for free shipping. Also why when I called back did she state that "We aren't liable when door dash comes to pick it up after it leaves a store, that's if they delivered to the right address."Obviously the woman that answered the phone purposely didn't give her name because she had ill intentions and got lippy with me each time I asked her what address did you put on the label and she repeatedly told me they aren't liable when door dash picks it upShe was mad because she had to do her job? Now what will Walgreens do for me since I'm now out of my script that was sent god knows where?I'm a social influencer looking for a new piece to do a story on about businesses that have lost control of their operations. This will be excellent material for my next live

It was the busiest day I had ever witnessed. A long line of cars for the drive through and another long line in the store. CRAZY BUSY.I was suffering with new allergies and was looking for a specific nasal spray I had read about. Two different pharmacists took the time to help me and one of them even came out from behind the counter into the store to help me look. They definitely didn't have the time to do this and I thought it was so nice.Another time, they were due to take a half hour lunch break and I was more than content to wait the 30 minutes for my prescription because I didn't want to take a second away from their lunch time. I wasn't in a hurry and I was just going to listen to music in the small wait area. Two different people saw me sitting there and asked what I was waiting for and made a point to get my prescription done before they went on their break. One of them was a pharmacist (Neil?).It's interesting sitting there and hearing all the crazy problems and difficult people they have to deal with. Almost all of the issues are because of insurance and out of their control, but people just feel free to unload all their frustrations on the employees. It's such a tough gig. I don't know how they put up with all that negativity.I'm so grateful for the hard job they do and all of you (KARENS) should be too. Lighten up people! Be nice!

I forgot my meds as I headed out of town and only realized it when I checked into my hotel. I called it into my local doctor at home and had them send it to the closest Walgreens to my hotel. Three hours later I stop in to pick up two prescriptions for a total of 12 pills for my blood pressure. The lady tells me at the counter that I’m not up for a refill, so I told her the story I forgot them and was only picking up 4 days worth. This turned into a long discussion with the pharmacist and she comes back and tells me they can fill it if I pay $11.99. Great I said I have no problem, she then tells me it will take hours. One of the prescriptions is complete. I said to put 8 pills in another bottle it will take hours?I don’t know what kind of business this place thinks that they are in, but when a doctor calls in an order, it should be filled regardless of insurance approval. Instead of taking care of the customer and printing a label and putting 8 pills in a bottle, they throw their weight around with a power trip and tell me to take a hike and come back hours from now. Walgreens is a big company and my tiny $11.99 means nothing to them. Customer service doesn’t mean anything to them as well.

Individual contributors not able to perform due to poor management. Pharmacist and staff are lovely, but good luck getting ahold of them since walgreens keeps a skeleton crew. I guess that time sensitive medication wasn't too important after all.

Be prepared to wait a long while.I had a vaccine scheduled for 11:15 am (arrived at 11am). I didn't make to the front of the line until 11:50am.Then had to fill out paperwork, that I already filled out online, in duplicate (one for each vaccine).Meanwhile, an older gentlemen jumped the line, and it was OK with the workers. I had to assert my place to be seen in the order we were waiting.I get that staffing issues are a problem. At a minimum, folks just picking up meds should be separate from the folks checking in for vaccinations. I don't get how there isn't a separate line, or maybe, every 10 minutes ask if someone is getting a vaccine that they can come forward.

Excellent service, handicap parking & entrance. Place for curbside pickup. The only thing is the wheelchair they have you need someone to push you or one awfully strong leg& foot to get around. Pharmacy d8d a great job

This walgreens used to be great. now you'll wait and hour no matter what time you go for your prescription. The young staff members are all really friendly and helpful, however the older members are rude and act like you are bothering them. This walgreens is in prime location by the hospital and they need to staff it better.

Terrible experience. Medication was out of stock and absolutely no effort was made to help me get my medications after 5 hours waiting on the phone and in lines. Employees were rude, lied about what they could do to help, and brushed off my concerns. Also allows employees to refuse medication due to religious beliefs. I will never be filling a prescription through any Walgreens again.

Terrible service , I don’t know why they have more than one pharmacy window inside they never have more than one person working the lobby. The outside has two lanes with one blocked off with some plastic totes, moves at about the speed of one car per 10 minutes. Used to be 24 hours , not anymore. It Been like this for at least a year and just gets worse. I wish there was another pharmacy near here I would ditch Walgreens in a heartbeat

First off I admit there is a wait in the pharmacy. Although because I had to wait to see if my insurance would cover my prescription. I didn’t really think that it was to long of a wait because I did have my cell phone to play around on while waiting. Anyway to cut this story short the pharmacist must have thought I waited long because he didn’t charge me for my prescription. That is why I am writing this review because I thought that was real nice of him. Normally I don’t do this sort of thing. Also yes it was before 10p.m. So I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it or not?

The employees appear to be doing their best but this location appears chronically understaffed. Expect long lines for tests, vaccines, or anything pharmacy related. They recently mislabeled a PCR test requiring me to come back to test again, wasting more time.

This store is so hit and miss. It really depends on who you deal with. There are some sweet workers who seem to try to make the best out of the chaos, and others who should have probably retired five years ago. Raul is always fantastic and has an awesome attitude! Peggy always looks mad and is usually passive aggressive. I always make it a challenge with myself to see if I can get a smile from her. It has yet to work. Slamming things around just makes for awkward interactions.

I have shopped at this location since it was built. I got all of my photos developed there, bought household and personal goods, and even bought toys there at Christmas time. This it's the second time now that I have had a major problem getting my medicine. I almost stopped going there after the last time but gave it another chance. It wasn't just the fact that i had trouble getting my meds but the complete lack of compassion or empathy by the recent staff. The pharmacist who had been there for years and years is great. The one who is sometimes there is downright mean. In a nutshell, I went to this Walgreens before I left the state for3weeks. I asked about my medicine and the tech told me that I could get it filled at any Walgreens in the country. I asked about insurance and she said it was all in the computer. Fast forward to me running out as expected.. I filled my scrip at the neighborhood Walgreens and when it was ready walked down the mountain to the neighborhood store. My insurance wasn't honored. I called this store today and kept calm and friendly, but asked about different options on how they could fix this. The tech on the phone put me on hold to ask about the things I proposed. They said they could ship it but it would be a week. They said I could pay for it (impossible). They said they could fed ex it but I'd have to pay for it. I asked the tech who agreed that it was Walgreens fault if they would pay for the fed ex and she put me on hold. When she came back her exact words were "yeah it's not on Walgreens to pay for the fed ex" I told her I was sorry that she was getting upset at me asking for different options since I could sense the very obvious annoyance in her voice. So Walgreens, was it worth it? Was the cost of fed ex to ensure I didn't go any longer without my medication, when I'm traveling, worth losing a customer you've had since the building was built? There is not enough concern nor any shred of professionalism at this pharmacy anymore. I now have to go days without medicine that I'm not supposed to go without for even a day. It seems the Hippocratic oath does not apply to pharmacies. I no longer consider it a place that provides health services.SincerelyA former customer

I would give them zero stars if I could. I am from out of state and dropped off my prescription well in advanced to it needing refilled knowing they would need to contact my doctor as I was out of refills. Here it is a week later and they never called in the prescription. I am out! Have been for 2 days and am now leaving here. Terrible service. Called to cancel prescription and they showed no record of my order. The picture for this Walgreens of trash bins should concern you. I am very upset with the service of this pharmacy.

4 people in the back pharmacy, 2 doing nothing. There’s a huge line and they are just talking to each other.

Today I had a simple inquiry for the Pharmacy so I called them, as the request did not warrant coming in to the store. I was told via the automated system that there were 3 callers ahead of me, then 2, then 1...no big deal. I was running errands on lunch so 15 minutes to wait wouldn't hurt. Then time went on and it was 20, 30, 40 minutes. I was over near the Pharmacy at this point so I drove in and asked to speak to the manager on duty. I asked him if he had any idea as to why I had been on hold for 48 minutes, as this is completely unacceptable. He said he didn't know and told me I could have called back. I responded, "Call back and then be 4th or 5th in the waiting line again? No way. How can you help me now?" He told me to go over to the 2nd window at the Pharmacy. Nobody was coming up to me so I said, "Excuse me sir, I have been on hold on the phone for 48 minutes and nobody is helping me." He snapped back "Yea, we are a little busy!" So I went back to the manager and said obviously nobody in the store felt the need to help the unseen people on the phone and just focused on people in the store (as if they matter more because apparently people on the phone aren't people). Either way, even if they are busy, is it acceptable to keep someone waiting on the phone for 48 minutes without even a courtesy answer telling someone they are busy and they will call them back? Does the person waiting deserve to be snapped at and also have the manager act passive and incompetent toward them? I think not. I have always loved Walgreens but this just may make me switch Pharmacies...or at least locations. Complete jerks.

First, I will say I have never had a problem with the Pharmacy. Always good service. However you cannot believe any advertised price on the shelf to be close to what you pay at the register. When questioned the difference, clerk just kept repeating the same thing several times . Very annoying and scam worthy. I will not shop there again.

Another terrible experience at the West Ave. location last week. They are a model of inefficiency, there is a wall of totes with filled prescriptions that no one has picked up, yet they can't fill the urgent ones. I stopped by for the third time that day to get my wife's prescription. Looks like the trick is to get there right before they close at 10:00 pm, then they have an incentive to fill the prescription so they can go home.

Went for Covid booster and flu vaccine. They were crazy busy. The employees were friendly even after dealing with rude customers. Feel bad for the staff, they definitely need more help and cleaning staff at this location.

Poor customer service. Waited in line for 15 minutes to get a prescription. They closed the pharmacy for lunch. I wasn't able to get my prescription. They need to be there for their customers. Instead of staggering lunches, they just ignore their customers. I will go elsewhere for my medication

It seems no one likes to answer the phone here.. I instantly get put on hold and no one picks up.. I try again and the same thing happens. Then I notice similar reviews and realize they do this often. Very disappointing as I was trying to spend money here. I will be contacting Walgreens headquarters and sharing my experience. I encourage anyone else with similar situations to do the same.. It's as easy as writing this review.

I have done business with this pharmacy for years. I've always been treated well and my meds in a timely fashion. I trust them implicitly. Several times they have caught mistakes by drs. prescribing meds that would not go well combined with current meds. They look after me. What more can ask for? If there's a problem with ins. or they do they're best to get need. They have went out of their way to help where other places would not. Gwen Walburn.

Has what you need...but let me give it to you straight: after 10pm, you might be risking your life heading into this place. Popped in quickly late at night recently, and couldn’t believe the behavior of the customers—across all ages—yelling, shouting, throwing products, slurring at the cashiers. I sincerely hope they are paying these young ladies a meaningful shift-shift differential to deal with this all night. Get in, get out, and make sure you have your stun gun in your hand the entire time if it is dark. Sheesh.

Very poor. Something wasn’t going through on a prescription I needed that was sent in at 4pm and was thinking I’d get it at least by the next day but now sitting on the phone while there is constantly three callers ahead of me for the past hour. Poor service

I was going out of town and needed to get my prescriptions quickly. They only filled one of the two. I was in the drive thru. They told me to go to the end of the line and wait. Not even an apology. Thanks Nate. Not happy with their customer service!!!They made a 5 minute stop into 20+.

For being such a large chain, their prices are terrible. The only thing besides the savings card that's cheaper are the cigarettes. I've had good & terrible experiences with the pharmacy. Convenience is the key to my visiting here.
