My amp's tubes had burnt out last week, so I brought it down to Dave's. Their amp technician wasn't in today, so they recommended I try across the street. Amp was taken care of in no time while my brother and I took a look around. Very cool guitars and gear in the store and the owner was extremely helpful in answering questions and letting me know what was going on with my amp during the process.

Extremely awesome!! Repaired my broken neck on my precious fender acoustic guitar with great attention to detail and very reasonable pricing. I almost think it sounds better now!! He is my go-to guy for any of my guitar repairs and tune ups. Highly, highly recommend.

Jimbo Zill is an expert instrument repairman! 30+ years experience. He can fix about anything you toss his way. He fixed a fairly high dollar pickup in my guitar, that came broken from the factory! I thought I was going to have to shell out more $$ to replace it. Nope, he fixed it. Restrung my guitar too. Now it sounds like it should. Reasonable prices. I live in Madison but take my instrument repairs to him in LaCrosse! BTW: he's also great guitarist!

I brought my amp in for repairs, the owner told me he was a couple weeks behind. No problem, he took my phone number and I gave him some time. Three months go by with no call until I couldn't wait anymore. I walked in to check on the status and he said it was done a long time ago. I asked why he didn't call when it was finished. He said I should have checked up on it sooner, which is a completely unacceptable and nonsensical answer. The owner clearly doesn't care about customer service.

Dropped off my husband's Jackson electric that was in pretty rough shape and pretty much un-playable and the gentlemen there was so friendly and nice!! We were worried about the cost of fixing it up but was extremely reasonably priced! When we took it home the husband played it for hours without getting frusterated once! Highly recommend!!!

Not the best customer service and very very poor job scalloping my fret board. Most of my frets were damaged with no attempt to repair said frets. The scallops them selves were horribly uneven, i picked it up with 2 switches broken off my guitar (not repaired as well) and it was only supposed to take 2 days, i had to go in over a month later to ask for it back after being told 4 or 5 timeS "oh im working on it now" or "ill get to it tomorrow" or "oh my tool broke". No discount was offered so i had to pay full price for the shotty work and no attemt to make it fair to me. On the other side just shopping there for parts the owner is very unhelpful and rude if you are not an older blues musician or buying a high ticket item or a child. I will not be getting any more of my instruments worked on here again nor will i shop here again. Daves guitar is a very fair, professional and similarly priced alternative to this shop.
