I bought myMoluccan Cockatoo Joey from here over 17 years ago. He was a hand fed baby and is now a member of our family. I would highly recommend anyone to buy birds from Jo's! They are excellent with their birds!!!

Traveled 66 miles to get to Jo's, and it was well worth the trip! In my opinion, their prices are very reasonable. I love the huge selection of parrot toys and other supplies.We found the perfect cage for our African Grey (which was the reason for our journey). The woman there helped us break down the cage so it would fit in my car. She and the owner, Rich, went above and beyond to help us! We were very impressed with our shopping experience and the excellent customer service. I'll definitely be back and I'll absolutely recommend Jo's to others.

As little as 2 months ago I would have rated them much higher. I have cockatoos and have been going there an average of every 2 to 3 weeks for 2 years to purchase toys and bird food. I live about 35 minutes away. The staff is friendly and the prices were reasonable. Prices have been going up, they are everywhere, but I continued to shop there because I liked helping to support a small company that caters to bird lovers.I also have a budgie named Tiny. One day she flew down onto my coworkers porch. He caught her and asked me if I wanted to give her a home and I said yes. She has fatty liver disease and is on medication and has not really played with any toy I have placed in her cage except one. These round white balls. I am not sure what they are made of. Perhaps a month ago Jo's started carrying them and I told the clerk I could not find these anyplace else so I bought almost all of them. Two weeks later I went back and they had raised the price by 50 cents per ball. I understand 50 cents is not much and I don't mind quite soooo much paying the higher price, although it adds up quickly when buying multiple at a time, but what bothered me was the fact that I told her I could not find them anywhere else and she immediately raised the price so I would have to pay more at my visits. I must admit I took this personally.This last visit I bought all she had and will continue to go there so Tiny can play but may start to buy the other toys and food online.

Are used to go here all the time, especially to get my birds, wings and nails trimmed. This past time when I went, they wouldn’t let me be in the room with my bird, it never used to be like that, you used to be able to stand in the room with them while they work on the bird. He gave me an unsettling, feeling, as if they’re doing something bad to my bird behind closed doors, and Sherine off, my bird bled while getting his nails trimmed. As I was getting my bird, they asked me if I paid right away before I could even grab my bird to pay, seems like all they care about is money. I really would like to be in the same room when my child is getting, his wings and nails trimmed. It also worries me that I have seen other comments and reviews on the chose exotic birds website that for hours after getting their birds, wings and nails trimmed, their birds had died. Next time I will clip my birds, wings and nails myself .

This woman who trims nails and wings is very unprofessional. She's rude, never makes conversation, will give you an attitude if you are 5 minutes late for your appointment and is very snippy. The guy up front asked her if I could have my bird back and she snapped that I needed to pay first when I already paid. Very very rude. Very unprofessional. The store itself is very dark and dim. My bird is always in a mood after the handling of the lady who cuts the wings and nails so I won't be back. I'll find somewhere else. I tried to give business to this local business but the lack of professionalism and customer service isn't worth the abuse and attitude.If I could give zero stars I would.

They were out of the pellets I normally give to my birds, and when I called to verify when they'd be in stock again, I was told they should be back on a specific date. When I called on that date, it turned out the pellets were still not in stock. I'd withheld purchasing from elsewhere because I trusted the estimate they gave me and preferred to give them my business, so this left me in a position where I'm almost out of pellets and may not have enough time to order them before they run out.I would say this is a great location if you need to browse for any non-urgent needs (toys, used cages, etc) and don't need something in specific. It's unfortunate because they offer better prices than anywhere else (especially on their nail clippings), but this makes me uncertain of if I can rely on them in the future.

This is a small family owned specialty parrot store featuring bird cages, food, carriers, toys, perches, and toy parts. The employees have all worked there for years and are very knowledgeable. They usually have 1 to 5 baby parrots for sale at any time and allow you to visit your bird while it weans.

This shop has a good selection of foods, toys, cages and pretty much everything you need for your bird. Everything is very reasonably priced. Cheaper than Amazon in a lot of cases and definitely cheaper than typical pet store chains like Petco and PetSmart. They also provide wing and nail clipping for your bird. They've also recommended an excellent avian veterinary specialist when we had a sick cockatiel. Jo's Exotics is a wonderful local resource for anything and everything bird related... which is hard to find!!

They have great prices and great product but I didn’t appreciate the fact that I couldn’t bring my bird into the store. After all it is a store dedicated to birds, she just stopped me right at the door, looked at my bird and gave us this look as if I had done something so terrible. My bird goes where I do especially if I’m running errands for him so I just think that’s ridiculous.

I really enjoy the huge selection of toys, food, cages and other avian items. I can generally find what I want and need for my cockatiels. If Jo's Exotic Birds doesn't have what I need, then they can always special order what I'm looking for. Rich, Jo's husband, will also deliver the larger cages and stands for a nominal fee and delivery can generally be made within a few days of purchase. Not only do I like shopping at Jo's Exotic Birds, but it's where I take my cockatiels when they need their wings clipped or nails trimmed. Jo doesn't charge a whole lot to have it done and she gets it done without stressing out my birds. If you own birds, I HIGHLY recommend Jo's Exotic Birds.

THIS PLACE KILLED OUR BIRD. Two weeks ago we took our bird in for a routine nail and wing trimming. Four hours after the trim our bird was dead. Moments after getting our bird back home he was acting erratic and was crying out in pain. I contacted the owner twice over the course of these two weeks and no response was ever received. So please please please DON'T TAKE YOUR BIRDS HERE for trimming of any kind. After he passed we had a full exam done and he had bleeding from his wings, the wings that they trimmed at this shop. This place is negligent and irresponsible. They killed our bird and couldn't even be decent enough to give us an apology or an explanation.

Go elsewhere for trimming of nails and wings. Woman that does it is unnecessarily rough with the birds, smells of smoke which isn't good for the birds, is rude and very demeaning. I also think she's grumpy always because she's never once been nice to anyone

#1 place in the Kenosha area to find a bird as a pet. Big and small birds alike. Jo's has everything from food to accessories...even bird care and hatching. Highly recommended and my number one go to for my pineapple conure.
