Oh my goodness, I can not rate Jerimiah high enough. I am just getting into saltwater as a hobby so of course I have a million questions. He took the time to answer all of my questions and guided me to what I could have in the tank and what I couldn't. He didn't rush me away or seem annoyed at all. He seemed genuinely happy to help He could have very easily sold me all sorts of stuff but he took the time to actually explain it all. While I only bought 10 gallons of water and 4 fish, I was able to leave with a wealth of knowledge worth far more. I will happily be back soon. Thanks again.

Love coming to visit Badgerland. The owner is very knowledgeable and has an answer for any questions we have. We've gotten multiple fish and dozens of corals from here. Definitely recommend stopping and visiting when you're in the Janesville area.

Gorgeous shop- loved all the beautiful tanks! Excellent service, what he didn't know he looked up for us and he went above and beyond to make sure our fish's needs are met plus gave great advice for safely cleaning tank equipment. I got this adorable fresh water Red Flame Sword plant along with an airstone. I highly recommend this shop for freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

Been here a couple of times gentlemen is always nice and friendly. He answered a lot of questions I had since I’m new to this. He always has the shrimp I need for my tank and I’ve brought a few fish without any problems.

Great! Jeremiah was really helpful! He answered all of my questions, and I found what I came there for. The selection of equipment, fish, and corals is just better than a big box pet store, you can tell it's ran by someone who really cares about the hobby.

I spent 5 minutes in the store and was never greeted so I walked out as the owner was too busy talking with someone else than to acknowledge a customer. The inventory was extremely limited, and I’ve seen individuals with better assortments in their basements. Keep on driving and go to Main Street Reef in Rockford it’s a much better shop with friendly and helpful owners.

Went in recently and while the owner was very nice, numerous saltwater fish tanks had dead fish in them as well as fish heavily breathing on the bottom. Most were also covered in algae or cyano. In addition, I saw some freshwater tanks that looked like they had ich on the fish. Their coral tanks looked excellent though, but overall I could not buy anything given the state of the tanks

I like this private small business because the personal attention that cannot be found at larger higher traffic aquatic centers that are not focused on FISH and CORALS. When every type of dog, cat, guinea pig and pet supplies are added at other shops. Staff are so stressed out with so much stocking and the number of customers “They have No Time for You” or You wait in long lines for help and to check out. Staff turn over is so high at the box stores that you’re out of luck with service and finding knowledgeable staff. The guy at Badgerland Salt Water not only knows his stuff but has time for you.

My wife found badgerland saltwater on Facebook and I decided to check them out today, I drove from Madison. The owner was very polite and very knowledgeable. Good deals on fish! Definitely worth the drive. Would highly recommend. I will definitely be going back!

Edit to my original post. My parents had a few problems with stocking their tank and misinformation by a staff member. They have a 75 gallon freshwater tank, and had been stocking slowly(per my request) and as they were adding angel fish, they had a die off that was blamed on them, and it shouldn't have been. They were sold multiple juvenile angels that hadn't even been released from the shipping bags they were delivered in, without being told the risk of buying such young, stressed fish. A MASSIVE no-no in this industry. All but one out of that group died, when they tried to understand why it happened, the guy brushed them off and told them it was their water. WITHOUT TESTING THEIR WATER. They have an at home kit and I test their water when I visit, the parameters were within a healthy range(no ammonia, nitrites, or nitrates, ph and hardness also within a healthy range for acidic species) I own an aquatic service business and have worked with animals for over a decade, and was honestly so disappointed hearing about this. We were so excited to have an lfs so close to them.They ended up going to PetSmart to restock their fish and will probably never step back into this pet store.Was visiting with my parents over the weekend, and am in the process of helping them set up a freshwater community tank. I wanted them to have a lfs that she could rely on since I'm 200+ miles away. The fish and Inverts are well care for, the system set up makes for easy viewing, and prices were REALLY reasonable. I purchased a round tail hellboy male betta, and have every intention of going back with a cooler to stock up on coral and supplies.
