Very good food. Ribs were overcooked but still tasty. Prices reasonable. Atmosphere old bar great. I'll go back for sure. 5 stars if the ribs weren't slightly overcooked.

Been a few years since we had been here, only because it's not super close. However, we had a wonderful meal, and I think this was one of the better places I have been in a while! The food really exceeded my expectations! The smoked meat was perfect, and the choices on the menu really showed off some creative mindsets in the kitchen. We will be back, and it will not be a long time until our next visit. In fact, I am already considering it for next weekend as I want to try some of the other dishes. Looking forward to playing some Hammerschlagen soon as well!

Stopped in on Thursday nite for a bite to eat with some friends. The place was inviting when we walked in and felt very welcomed. Our server was Ryley, he was excellent. He suggested the ribs, Thursday nite special that included two sides. Lots of choices for the sides. Four of the six of us ordered the ribs. All agreed these were the best ribs we have ever had. Perfectly seasoned bbq sauce, fall off the bone tender. The other two ordered the pulled pork wrap. Excellent tasting! Hubertus's best kept secret. Will be back again soon.

If you are Gluten-free, don't come here for the BBQ. None of thier BBQ sauce is GF.2 appetizers, 2 dinners, 2 sodas was $74We had 2 appetizers, Texas Twinkies and the burnt ends.Wife had the steak and chips,I had the baseball burger, the burger was two 1/2 lb patties bacon cheese and BBQ sauce.Everything tasted very good.The staff was excellent and very helpful with GF questions.Celiacs don't like surprises.

Stopped here for lunch yesterday. We were able to eat outside since the weather was nice. Our waiter was excellent, our food was delicious, and we will definitely be back!Parking: There is a parking lot behind the restaurant, and also plenty of street parking.

This was our first time and definitely not our last. We had our 7 year old with us and the bartender was so sweet to her. Our fried mushrooms were huge and amazing I wish I took pictures. Whenever someone's food came out we watched because everything coming out was amazing. What a great place. And can I just say our waiter was the sweetest most helpful and so on top of everything waiter I've had. He was such a genuine nice person, and made the experience even that much better. Thanks for a wonderful night out you guys, you sure know what you are doing.

Walked in and the smell of charcoal lighter was strong. Not surprisingly, the brisket and bacon wrapped jalepenos tasted like lighter fluid and the bacon was nearly raw. The wings were cold with almost no sauce on them. The smoked wings were so over sesoned you needed a pitcher of water after each bite. I guess the A team doesn't work tuesdays.

Food is always good, service is always great. We have been here three times in the last three years. Our server has been Robert every time and he's the best! He's so friendly and kind, fast and efficient. I have put Sloppy Joe's on my list of restaurants to frequent regularly, and I would like to suggest that you put them on your list also!

Sloppy Joe's is a fantastic smokehouse in hiding. Unless you really look to realize the big silver box outside is actually a smoker, you'd never know you can find some of the best BBQ around here. Their menu is quite substantial; it can actually be difficult to pick one thing. The pulled pork and the brisket are both fantastic, as are their smoked pot pies and the smoked bacon wrapped jalapenos, or Texas Twinkies, as they call 'em. We've only been in twice thus far but, we will be going back often; we received great service both times and experienced a very friendly staff.EDIT: We've been frequent customers here for a few years now and, for the most part, this place is fantastic. That said, I recently decided to try the burnt ends "the crown jewel" as they claim; I received a chili bowl with some chunks of regular brisket doused in enough barbecue sauce for 2-3 times as much meat. When I gave it back and told them it was not burnt ends, I was informed that they ran out of gas for the torch, which means they don't actually have burnt ends but they'll happily burn some brisket with a torch, pretend it's something it's not, and charge you double; what a scam. Throughout dozens of visits I've had to send something back three times, which isn't really a big deal but, each time the bartender/server came back to tell me that the kitchen staff was aware that what they were sending out wasn't right but they just didn't bother to fix it, or make any effort to make mention of it before serving it to me. My original review was five stars but, in light of these updates, I've reduced my rating to 4 stars. I'd still recommend Sloppy Joes but, I'd also recommend that you say something if your food isn't right because, apparently they are fine sending out sub par plates without at least saying something to the customer.

Went to Sloppy Joes after spending the day at The Holy Hill Art Farm. Looked for somewhere near to sit and relax. Absolutely loved it! The waitress and bartender were awesome! They made us feel like “regulars”. The food was as outstanding and the old fashioned was the best I’ve ever had!!! Everyone should visit Sloppy Joes!Parking: Drive in, park, and enjoy!

What an awesome place! We celebrated my Mom's birthday there tonight and from the minute we walked in the door we were made to feel like we were "regulars". I'm not exaggerating when I say that everyone and I mean everyone was friendly! Our server, Morgan, was the best(please tell her to have a magical🏰vacation!)and the guy behind the bar(thanks for the phone call!)and the woman that took our picture were awesome too. The food was yummy too! We'll be back!

Went there for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Even though it's a smaller restaurant, it has excellent food. The fish fry looks very good and has several options from walleye to perch and baked and deep fried. I had the ribs and they were about as perfect as they come. Nice and tender and very meaty. My dinner companion had the brisket sandwich and it was big we both went home with another meal.

Consistently one of the best restaurants in the area, rarely have I had an meal that wasn’t just as good as it was the first time, been going here for 10+ years and I don’t see that changing. Robert is a rockstar, always going the extra mile to make sure my carry out orders are exactly what I ordered and making me feel like family when I come in. Not only the food but they’re drinks are always spot on too with a great selection of liquor and beer to choose from.
