Unexpectedly super delicious! Both the server and chef were so nice and welcoming. We grabbed lunched from there and had to go back for dinner. A must-have is the chicken pot pie. Wished I could've ordered some food to go for the road, but they weren't opened yet. The husband kept forgetting to order me a pie, wished I would've gotten a chance to try it, but I am sure it would be super delicious too. Money well spent here, highly recommended.

I love every single little thing about this place. The bartenders are cool and very customer focused. The food is the best I have had in the entire Midwest and like Johnny Cash, I have been every where. This place is my favorite in south shore. Bring back open mic night! The only bad thing about this place is that their FRIES ARE TOO GOOD! They should be illegal because the rosemary, and cruncky exterior fries are always consumed entirely….by myself…. I might be addicted to these fries. Also the oakie burger is the best damn burger. Fire Bear signing off.

I’ve been stalking this restaurant on socials and I finally got to visit for a birthday celebration. Did not disappoint. We started with an order of the best onion rings ever. Get the smoky ranch dipping sauce. Friday fish fry featured trout. It was perfect. The Penne Vodka special devine. We didn’t have room for dessert so we grabbed a piece of rhubarb tort to go. I would pay for that recipe. We split it 4 ways. I don’t think any of us will settle for anything less than our own piece in the future. We will back!

Great little spot off of Highway 13. Always so satisfied and impressed with the service, food, and drinks here. They use fresh and local ingredients as much as possible. Keep in mind this place is small, so it can get packed and busy here, so be patient! But it is worth the wait!!(Pictured: BLT, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Blueberry Mojito)

Excellent food hidden away in Herbster! Craft drinks worthy of Miami Beach! Fresh Home Made Sour Mix for perfect Margaritas!A very cool looking establishment with a bar that looks west and over the lake. Sunsets in the evening, they can lower the menu board to block the sun in a unique way that lets you still see the lake and horizon.The food is fresh and good. The Roast Beef Po Boy was awesome! And I already mentioned the margarita but this place obviously makes craft drinks and they all looked very good!Definitely a great stop on the Snowmobile Trail! I look forward to making the Drive to Herbster just to eat here after sledding melts. Maybe time me next trim to Duluth to pass by for a meal and a drink!

We stopped in here during a blizzard in December and just had the bloodies, which are something to see in and of themselves. We saw desserts being made and knew we had to come back for food, so we did. My gosh, amazing! Service was awesome both times, in the dead of winter and busstle of summer. It's tough to find staff, and Herbster isn't left out. But they are busting their butts and did a great job. The Sriracha Brussles were a great app. It's a cool place in a cool space and has great food and drinks to boot. You can't beat it.

Visiting Laceys' new restaurant up north has been on our list of things to do since she took the big leap and followed her heart to the North Shore. Wonderful food, delicious mixed beverages and great location . We had the breaded cheese curds as an appetizer , shared a handcrafted burger and fries and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Beautiful views from the front deck of Lake Superior. After lunch, we were able to park across the street and do a quick beach walk. We will be back!

Cranberry over Superior never disappoints! Lacey has brought a treasure to Herbster with a diverse menu and over the top fun weekly specials. She incorporates locally grown produce and meats so everything is mouth watering good. Service and hours are very dependable. And the view of Lake Superior from inside or out on the new deck is spectacular. Thank you Lacey!

Amazing food. Cheese curds rank in the top 2 of my life and I have enjoyed hundreds. Burger also fantastic. BUT- service reminds you of a Seinfeld episode. Definitely did not consider a positive personality or service oriented attitude in the interview process. Male bartender takes pride in treating non-locals like we murdered his dog. Go for the food and expect to tip <10%.

A hidden gem in Herbster that serves up a diverse and creative menu. I generally don't expect to find gluten free options (or even knowledge) outside of larger cities, but that expectation is broken here. They have GF buns, pizza crust and are willing to modify most items on the menu.The environment is warm and welcoming in all seasons with friendly staff. Sometimes one needs to wait a little longer, which never bothered me. Watch the lake, sip and drink and take it easy.Parking: Parking in the lot or across the street, never been a problem even in the snow.

What a great place, and a total surprise! Just toodling down the road i see this little bar with a bunch of cars around it, so I already knew it would be good. But the food and service was way over expectation! Love the special bloody mary, cheese curds are to die for, just everything was super good. 10 out of 10 would recommend and return.

We made a 2.5 hour trip to visit The Cranberry, and it was worth the drive!! We had a fabulous lunch, drinks and desert (cheesecake). And to top it off, they are situated with a perfect view of the lake!Try the smoked fish Bloody Mary (I dare you!), it's delicious!

Great lunch stop in Herbster! My wife told me it was the best BLT she had ever tasted. My fish sandwich was perfect as well. Although my Bloody Mary wasn't the best I have ever tasted, it was the only Bloody I have ever seen with a whole fish on it! Super fun place, would definitely stop anytime I am in the area...

Showed up a few hours before closing tonight to visit a friend and have a few drinks. As a testimony to the quality of this place, I was the last local at the bar when a group of 20-somethings showed up from a nearby campground, like 15 of them, 20 minutes before closing. They wanted drinks and food, a BIG order. The servers and cooks didn't complain, didn't even blink - they knew an order like this was important and stepped up; they buckled down and served that table good food and drink quickly, with pride. It was awesome to watch and made me feel like hard work is worth something.

This place is great! Food was really good! I had an amazing chicken pot pie and my husband loved his burger (he is picky). Good beer list and a decent wine list. Dogs can be on the patio which is a big plus and service was great. Nice stop on your way to the south shore

If I could leave 10 stars I would. The food was amazing. I had the gyro and it was so amazing. The cheese curds were also the best I’ve had. Everyone else I was with all had amazing food and drinks. The cheesecake was the best cheesecake I’ve had. Our waitress Jojo was amazing as well. We had a party of 15 and she handled it extremely well. She was also very funny too and very kind.Dietary restrictions: None of us were gluten free but they did have plenty of gluten free options

The food is excellent! Food is farm to table supporting local farmers in the area. The specials are amazing, creative, you can check them out ahead of time on Instagram. The everyday menu offers a wide variety of sandwich's , burgers , chicken pot pie, homemade pizza. Service is outstanding, atmosphere warm friendly-children welcome!! Perfect place to watch a sunset on Lake Superior. Not your usual up north burger joint.

This place is great!! We came for the pickle brined fried chicken on Saturday night and came back Sunday morning for the smoked fish bloody! I highly recommend! Oh yeah and a good view of the lake!
