This place is great! The ladies love Sir Oscar and he loves them. Their customized service options along with full grooming options is convenient. He jumps and rushes the door to see his friends which makes it easier to drop him off. As a single working professional with a busy life I love this option because it allows me to be a dog owner. Their customer portal makes it super efficient to book him! Thanks for all you do.

I’ve been taking my dog here since 2021 and absolutely love it. The staff has always been so friendly and very polite. My dog has a lot of anxiety and I’ve taken him to a few other kennels, but I know when he is at Animal Cottage he is safe, taken care of, and happy. It is the only place I trust to care for my big puppy — I feel at peace when he is there. For Christmas, they even took a cute photo of him and I still show people the photo 8 months later!

I just had my dog groomed by Alex this morning. Everything went great. I am sensitive to smells and she did a hypoallergenic shampoo and no perfume. She made sure to notify me of his behavior as he is a rescue that we’ve had for four weeks and most likely his first groom.I also took a tour of the kennel and will definitely use them when necessary.….. The owners had previously watched my dogs for years, and I was always very pleased with the treatment and care my dogs received.

I cannot give enough thanks to this place!!! I usually am not one to write reviews but I was blown away by the care my dog received while boarding here. I adopted my 10 month old springer spaniel from a shelter a couple months ago. She is very reactive to both people and dogs. She needed to get boarded for two nights which my fiancé and I were very nervous about as our dog has extreme anxiety. Multiple places wouldn’t even take her but Animal Cottage accepted her with open arms. We were so delighted to know that we can view her report card at any time and see if she ate, if she took her pills, and get updates on everything. A few hours after we dropped her off her report card was updated and we saw numerous photos of her being cuddled and loved! Because of her reactivity she has never let another person get close to her and here she was cuddling in someone’s lap! We had an extremely long report from one of the pet care technicians detailing how much she loved our dog and how she was able to approach her. The fact that an employee went above and beyond to try to bond with our dog means the absolute world to me. Seeing that immediately put my worries aside and I felt so confident that she was in good hands. It brought tears to my eyes seeing my little baby able to bond with someone. Amanda, thank you so so much for your amazing care and going out of your way to make our dog feel special. She often doesn’t get to receive any affection outside of the home because of her behavioral issues. We thought everyone would be too scared to even come near her during her boarding stay. The fact that you took the time and effort to meet her and ended up getting her to trust you means so so much. Thank you Animal Cottage for everything. We now have a place we can feel confident bringing our dog to and not have any worries!

I was worried about how my dog would handle being dropped off at doggie daycare as some of the previous reviews were concerning. I'm happy to say that my dog didn't come back smelling like pee and I didn't have any extra charges on my bill like others stated in past reviews. My only concern after picking my little guy up was with organization from the staff. When they packed my little guys bag with his toys and leftover food from home they also packed three food bags that didn't belong to my pet. Assuming it was supplied by animal cottage as it was all the same food..Two food bags were full and one bag was empty and all three of the food bags had different initials on them. My dog isn't on a special diet and doesn't have food allergies so it's not a big deal if his food got mixed up but hopefully it didn't affect the other pets lodging there at that time. Overall my dog was happy, healthy and alive when I picked him up so I would trust animal cottage with my pet care again in the future.

First experience our dogs contracted a respiratory infection or possibly a strain of kennel cough and was charged for an enrichment service not used. I sent a message about both and was only responded to about the respiratory infection assuring me they take all necessary precautions. All for second chances, I try again for a weekend stay. We just picked up our dogs and the bigger of the two with long hair is soaked in urine. The smell was so bad that we all rode home with our heads out the window. I'm certain my vehicle will need a thorough cleaning. I am broken hearted at the though of him not being let out for so long that he had to go in his cage and then was forced to lay in it as well. Now instead of being allowed inside and loved up after being apart, I'll need to bathe him, probably more than once, in an effort to wash his fur and skin of the urine. I will NOT make this heart breaking COSTLY mistake a third time.Edit for responseThanks for your response and clarification. I did return your call and left a message. I appreciate the follow up when service hasn't gone well. It seems communication could have been helpful here as when I discussed the reservation with your staff I told them Yogi was not to have the grooming services because he is ill mannered during these times and must be muzzled for me to work with him. My apologies to the staff.

ZERO STARS! BEWARE: Never again will I bring my dog there and anyone who does should think twice. Owner is passive aggressive, and just plain aggressive.Check the reviews and pay attention to the dates! Almost every review is from the previous owners who are excellent. NOT THESE ONESJason is scary and also seems like he would take his aggression out on the animals. My dog never liked him, nor did she like going to this establishment. At her previous daycare she would pull and whine with excitement until we went into the building. Here, her tail was tucked and I had to force her into the building. To no surprise now, my dog always seemed fearful of Jason.We had an incident here last week when I asked Jason if I could pick my dog up early as I had an unexpected half day off work. I got off at noon with only a few hours notice, and I asked when I dropped my dog off that morning if I could pick her up a little after noon, (since it takes about 15 minutes to get there from my work) but I would gladly pay the whole day since I booked the whole day. He said “sure fine” and pulled my dog into the back. I arrived at 12:25pm and the building was closed, lights off. Nobody answered any calls or emails. I was so confused. Perhaps Jason just forgot he said it was fine. I was concerned there was nobody on the grounds and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone (I mean what if the building was on fire? Who would know?! What if I had an emergency and had to pick my dog up right away?!) but ultimately I just figured it was a miscommunication or he forgot. Once Jason did arrive, he was rude and aggressive. He said they closed at noon and there are “fees for this” and he tried to tell me I told him I would pick her up BEFORE noon. Which is impossible because I did not get off work until noon. I told him a fee would have been fine had he told me that this morning. At my old daycare they had fees for picking up outside of pickup times and I completely understand that and have paid them, but he never said anything about that. I put as much distance between us as I could, I stayed near the door.I have never been treated like this. I was scared. My phone was in the car and I had no way to protect myself. I went back to my car to grab my phone while he was billing me so I had a way to call if I needed help. He sat at the counter and I told him he needed to get my dog now. It seemed like he was being extremely slow to make me uncomfortable and wait, to show me he had control over me and my dog. Finally, with what usually takes 30 seconds to grab my dog, but took much longer, he comes out and hands me the leash and I asked him to cancel every booking (I was bringing her in daily and had some weekends booked) and he said “sounds good” in an uppity voice.Also, keep in mind, I am new to Hayward, like... only been here two weeks. I had just started to bring my dog here and this was going to be a long term arrangement. I booked out weeks in advance, and was bringing my dog in daily for daycare. I wasn’t just a random once-in-a-blue-moon customer. But I only lasted a week before this happened.Aside from this very scary situation, the business is completely disorganized and understaffed. There are hours during the day where the dogs are completely alone, no way to contact the owners, and no way to get access to your dog. They get no exercise and are just in the kennel all day, everyday.It is nice to have your dog somewhere safe, and this place IS NOT IT.

I've been bringing Hashbrown to Timberlawn since July for puppy daycare because he's still young. He gets so excited as soon as we turn onto the road! He absolutely loves everyone at Timberlawn and I know they treat him as their own. I have boarded him there twice and he was well taken care of while we were gone. I would trust them with any of our animals!!

After having dogs for 33 years, we've never had to kennel until now.We had a nice experience at Animal Cottage. They are very responsive, communication is spot on and there are cameras in all areas to monitor the kennels at all times. Our 7 month old lab did very well and will return.Julie Ringlien10/10/2022

We have been using Timberlawn Pet Care for the past several years. In our opinion we find the new owners to be professional and caring. Since the beginning of the year we have used their service multiple times. Kila our very spoiled 15 yr old lab has special needs. She is on a special diet and needs to take medication daily.They are very patient with me when I call every single day to make sure she's being taken care of. She comes home well rested with a spring in her step like a pup. I would definitely recommend their services and feel comfortable leaving your fur baby with them.

My puppers has never been so happy after picking him up from a doggie hotel!! He had a blast, they were MORE than accommodating, and even squeezed us in at the last minute. Absolutely a first choice for when we come up to the cabin!!!

Though we don't travel too often our Ellie May doggie enjoys staying at TImberlawn. The staff is so friendly and kind. Our dog feels loved and it's a nice little vacation for her. We have also boarded our Kira Kitty there when we took a week long trip and she was well-cared for. We know our pets are in great hands whenever we board them at Timberlawn.

We boarded my 15 year old dog here for the weekend. The staff were super nice and welcoming at drop off & pickup. Price was very reasonable! The location is a little confusing with a 1 way road. I would board my dog here again!

I have worked here at Timberlawn for 18 years and I love my job, almost as much as I love watching the fur babies come through our front door and running for the back kennels! My Cavalier King Charles "Lady" was a high energy little devil. She would jump on furniture, run away from me when playing, and chase everything she saw. Much of this was my fault as an owner. When I tried to train Lady myself, I would get frustrated and give up.Then I brought Lady to board & train with Janelle at Timberlawn.In one week, Janelle transformed Lady from a devil to an angel. Not only did Janelle train Lady through her weaknesses, she also taught me how to be a better owner for my companion.Now, "Lady" stays off the furniture, runs right to me to play, and doesn't chase things. She is a perfect little angel.Training with Janelle at Timberlawn was the best money I have ever spent!

This place is under new ownership. All the good reviews are referencing the PREVIOUS OWNERS.I will never bring our dog here again. Owners are agressive and terrible business people. I feel bad the previous owners might accidentally be associated with this place.
