A time travel back into my childhood days. These were the type of restaurants and style that were cutting edge back in the day. There's no roller what waitresses but the atmosphere is close. Picnic tables and shade trees and then these picnic tables they have next to the building for dining. This is old school Classic American eats. I gave it only a 3 star because unfortunately my chicken and fries were not fresh out the fryer. The chicken was good they have a tasty recipe. A little more crunchy than KFC original but not like extra crispy chicken like I really love. I got the 2 piece dinner which comes with beans, coleslaw, toast and choice of mashed potatoes or fries. Beans weren't anything special, coleslaw was OK, toast was toast. But what shined like a diamond was the clam strips! They were salty sweet, tender and succulent! I'd go back several times a week just for those! Looking forward to trying their burgers and fried mushrooms and shakes as well. If your in the area and looking for an old school drive through experience is give this place a try. They only except cash but have an ATM on site. And are only open during the spring, summer and early fall months. Update I went back on the 12 of September the next day and they were closed for the season so I made it just in time for the year.

Ordered 8 piece bucket chicken. Got home it was all dark . Called and told it was chefs choice. But was charged for a bucket of mixed chicken. The person who answered acted as if I was bothering her . Didn't know when ordering 8 pc bucket of chicken you have to specify 2legs, 2 thighs 2 wings 2 breast. Nice way to run a business .

Excellent chicken! Stopped in for a bite after smelling the chicken almost a mile away. The prices were very reasonable, and we only had to wait a few minutes to get our food. The chicken had very good flavor, as did the beans and coleslaw. They also have the crinkle cut fries I like. I will definitely be stopping again when I am in the area.Don't forget to save room for ice cream!Biker friendly too!

I have been going here since I was young enough to remember. My grandparents were locals and would always pick some up when it was our weekend to visit. Best broasted chicken I have ever had. And their fried clams are such a delicious treat! Their little drive in on top of the hill is a perfect place to park your car during the spring and summer months.

Very busy during lunchtime for first time visit. Chicken was moist & tasty, but suffered not being temperature hot. Fries lacked salt, also not hot. Beans were hot & delicious, and coleslaw very good. Enjoyed cheese curds as well. Perhaps off day, would try them again given how popular they are.

Get the broasted chicken. My husband and I enjoy going on date days and happened upon this drive-in while on the road. I love trying broasted chicken and was not disappointed. The portions were generous. I recommend getting the mashed potatoes and gravy over the french fries. The restroom was clean too. The gentleman at the window was friendly. Good place and good eats.

I haven’t had Hager heights in years and decided to drive down 45 minutes so I could show my bf how amazing the chicken is there. Sadly the minute we got the chicken in the car I could smell the old fryer oil. It’s a smell and taste that is hard to get rid of. We got home and when we sat down to eat neither of us could eat the chicken. It taste like it had been in week old fryer oil :(. It happens. Not the end of the world. I’ll definitely be back someday but just a bummer to drive all that way and couldn’t eat it.

It's always a pleasure returning here and the chicken, YES, Please!!Their can sometimes be a wait depending on how busy it is, so DO NOT think fast food here.The staff is great, and the one gentleman who I believe is the owner at the walk-up window is like a human calculator. He has your total as soon as you confirm your order is complete!Parking: The majority is uncovered, but they have some covered spots for about 6 cars.Wheelchair accessibility: I don't recall specific designated spots, but their is plenty of availability, and the order window is accessible too. They have picnic tables on a hard surface and some in a grassy area that may not be wheelchair friendly.

Awesome unique place with great food and staff! The Broasted Chicken is excellent! Though others note to bring cash, there is a convenient ATM right by the order window, if you don’t plan ahead. We drove an hour one way and will do it again.

Took the wife and mom for mother's day. Had heard alot about the food from friends.we all got the four piece chicken dinner with a side of onion 🌰 rings and claims. It was a fantastic will definitely be going back. Got there 2minuntes after they opened 6 cars were already there only Took about 10 minutes to get are order. Sunday drive, Sunday meal ordered almost everything on the menu; Chicken, shrimp, onion rings, and mushrooms. Everything excellent! Got there just as a line was being formed. It went quickly.

Nice surprise while driving HWY 35. For a chicken joint, it was exactly what we thought it would be. Service good, Chicken was great. We will stop again when traveling through.

First time trying their chicken today and gotta say.... it’s the best chicken I have ever had!! Nice crispy and moist! The sides were really delicious as well! Mashed potatoes and gravy, and coleslaw! Will definitely be back to try their baked beans and potato salad... and pretty much everything else on their menu.
