Been shopping here since I was a lil kid, always an abundance of helpful employees and they have just about anything you could need from inexpensive skateboard bearings, grease and hardware to plumbing, painting and electrical.

Not going back to this hardware store. Walking in, an older gentleman looks at you expecting you to communicate with him and stares at you like you are going to “steal” something vs if you approach him, he lets you be. He will watch you until you make eye contact or follows you around the store breathing down your neck. A racial profiling lawsuit is in the wings if this customer associate doesn’t know civil rights.

They have a lot of nice tools and equipment here, and I think they have some nice sales prices. However, it also seems like the store and most of it's associates are relying on the knowledge of 1-2 well information employees. As a result you may have to do some waiting around until the more knowledgeable employees are available. I also had a recent experience with my father here where the product was deeply scratched while loading it in the vehicle. Their customer service is making it right for him, but obviously everyone involved would have preferred if that wasn't necessary.

Well last review was a good one but unfortunately this one is not. Bought a product that was marked 21 dollars came up almost 40. Couldn't afford that so had to return it. Still no money on my card and your manager was a complete jerk!! In fact hung up on me after telling me I was wrong about everything I said. Just a rude inconsiderate person who has no people skills

Always very helpful staff. Recently had screens replaced on 4 windows. They did a nice job. Ace on 1st St. Fonddulac has always been my go to place for those types of home care needs. Thank you for great service to our community.

Came in looking for a particular type of screw for my guitar. I was immediately helped by an employee who was very helpful. He even had me bring my guitar in to check the fit before sending me off. Super helpful staff with a large selection of hardware and other things. Would definitely shop here again.

My father recently passed away and i needed to find quality paint with a low available budget to fix his home. I wanted as much good to come out of a bad situation so i decided to go to a small shop and support local over a big box store. I went into this store and was immediately welcomed and offered assistance. I explained i didn't know what i needed but my situation and the young man immediately went looking to help me he was joined by an older gentleman who helped him find exactly what i needed. They started mixing up my paint and all the employees in the area greeted me and made sure someone was helping me and just gave a down home warm feel you dont get many places now days.. this kind of genuine kindness is not found in today's world and they do not know how much their help ment to my family and i. I would recommend this place a million times over.

I shop at Ace in Fond du Lac because I figure it’s a small business and not a big box store. I like to support local small businesses. However, while most of the employees are helpful and knowledgeable and eager to help, a few employees are downright rude. The manager, Kay, is a prime example of rude. I have pretty much had enough of her attitude. I have been told that’s just the way she is! BS. I deserve to be treated like a customer by employees that value my business! Tom Pickart is outstanding for his knowledge and being helpful. Kay is a PITA!

I absolutely enjoy this hardware store!The people are friendly and you get that warm/ local hardware store feeling.They always have what I'm looking for.Even if the season is about to end they still have it. Unlike big box stores where they remove items from the shelves to make room for Christmas the day after labor day.

Great little hardware store. May not have everything the big stores have but they have a lot including being able to just purchase 1 or 2 screws instead of a whole pack. Most of the staff is helpful but there are a couple there that it's an inconvenience to them if you have a question.

Well took our Snow blower in this year to get serviced like we do every year.. so they had to ship it to Oshkosh due to lack of a service professional.. well got it back and it's leaking what appears to be oil.. obviously something was not tightened properly.. was asked to start it.. nope.. starting a machine that is leaking oil could cause the engine to explode.. no thanks.. paid over $200 dollars for maintenance repairs and still got the shaft.. never had any issues with the service department before in over 40 years..

You need it, they've got it. Male toy store. I needed esoteric part for a Toro Snow blower. They had it, and the gentleman who found it in the part/ maintenance department is a gem. Probably old enough to have originally opened the place. You don't find people like that in a big box. Thank you all

I'm done.. Bought a lawn mower a couple years ago and had great experience with that dept.. Went back several times the last being 6/7/16 and just absolutely horrid. How can such a small store have the feel of over busy employees. Grumpy grumpy grumpy and no people skills. I appreciate the local businesses and I am willing to pay the inflated prices for products that have been on the shelf way to long. I can't get past the absolute horrible customer service. When someone says hi Just say hi back and don't act like your about to fall over and croak, dude behind service desk should retire.

The store is usually very helpful and the workers are usually quite friendly but there is one person who is very grumpy. I called to ask about a service they do and was transferred to a man who was very short and rude with me. I got off the phone and felt very upset. Now I am afraid to stop or call because I might have to deal with him again. So sad that one person can affect a business in such a negative way.

Always have what I'm looking for, along with excellent customer service. If you need paint or stain or varnish this is where to go, they can match any existing finish just take in a sample of the wood with you.
