Absolutely disgusted by this lady , although it's been 10+ years ago since I took my teddy bear(Diva) to her. I took her there, starting as a pup, a couple of times. Cut was great and she looked beautiful. But she was always shaking and would stay in her kennel for a couple of days after. The last time I took her there was a day I will never ever forget. I picked Diva up after her grooming, and once again she was shaking uncontrollably. Once i got her home, she went immediately to her kennel and would not come out. Not to eat. Not to drink. I could not convince her to come out for a couple of days. I would come home on my lunch breaks from work because I literally thought she was dying. I finally convinced her to come out, and when I picked her up, what I had seen brought me to full blown tears. She had a gash on the back of her neck that was about an inch+, and 1/2 inch deep, all 4 bottoms of her paws had cuts, the joints on the back of her legs were cut, cuts on both ears. I immediately called the shop, and I told the girl that answered that I needed to talk to the girl that groomed Diva. She immediately put Chris Lapine on the phone. Long story short, she told me it must have happened in my care. She continued to tell me my 6lb dog was unruly, and that I would never be able to find another person to groom her without sedation. She was the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. To this day, I wish I would've pressed charges on her. When the video came out years later of her abusing the dogs, tears just flowed again as it brought me back to Diva's incident. Please people....be aware! Do not let your fur babies experience what I did.She should never ever be able to groom again!On a better note, I did find a great and "forever" groomer for Diva! One that was patient with a pup that had ptsd from an abusive groomer.Changing the name of her her shop does not change what she did to my dog! Shame on her!!!!!!

We have a very large (70+ lb) English Bull dog puppy who’s been going to barking lounge every 4 weeks for about a year now. Anyone who knows an English Bull dog knows that this bread does NOTHING they don’t want to do and our boy can’t wait to go in for his appointment. Chris does an amazing job with him! His coat is so beautiful when she’s done, his whites are so bright, and he smells amazing. There are no words to describe how well she de-sheds him! When we left her shop tonight I decided after so many amazing experiences that I needed to show our appreciation by leaving a well deserved 5 star review. I was shocked to see the recent negative comments so decided to do some research before posting my review. All I can say is, if a person worked somewhere for YEARS where animals were being abused why wouldn’t they call the police immediately rather than post allegations on Facebook when they were planning to start their own business? A public records search on the accused and accusers was enough to convince me to continue services with reputable groomer who does an amazing job!l

Took my Twiggy(maltipoo)there for the first time, although Twiggy was nervous when she arrived, once I left she seemed to do better. She came out smelling great, nailed trimmed nicely, and her spring cut looked great..Going to bring my other dogs to her soon.

Super great experience with our dog! Weenie has been itching so bad bc of the dry air!! She is always so scared to be dropped off but does well once she's there. She came home after getting an oatmeal bath and some oil treatment, and she stopped itching!!

Sarah did a wonderful job on my dog Buddy today, who has had some bad experiences at the prior groomers. Would definitely recommend.

My mom used to take her dog here and he would always be shaking scared and not wanna go inside. After seeing a video of the owner hitting someone else's dog i don't think it takes much to connect the dots. They even had to change the name of there business cause they ruined there own name and had too many bad reviews

Chris did an amazing job with all four of our standard poodles! She is caring, and knows what she's doing! She is quite amazing and has great talent! She treated my dogs as if they were her own. Great job great service great care!!!!!

I'm not sure if it was because we had a late appointment and maybe it was rushed. I brought my standard poodle in for a regular grooming. His haircut looked great. However, when I picked him up his skin was red, irritated, and he was cut pretty badly on his hind leg. Out of dozens of times he's been groomed we've never experienced this, especially a cut of this magnitude. Again, it could have just been an off day or possibly a more difficult cut to do. Hopefully other owners/pets have a more positive experience.

Chris is great!! I have five dogs they all go in together some are behaviorally challenged. 4 miniature doxies and 100lbs lab. Definitely a handful but she does it with a smile and I appreciate it so much. I have been bringing all my dogs here for many years and have never been unhappy with their work.

Chris had to change the name from tails a wagging to this because she was caught abusing animals. Google fond DU lac pet groomer accused of abusing animals and you can see it for yourself. If you hate your animals take them here

Very upset today. Took my little yorkie in to be groomed. He’s been here before and looked great. Today not so much . His ears look ridiculous. She shaved just a small triangle on the tips of his ears and left the rest. I mean shaved to the skin. I complained but she thought it was fine. She said I do that to all my yorkie dogs. She never. Did before . She was indignant about it. I also want to add my dog was shaking in fear. I will never go back there

My husky comes here once a month and they are so amazing with him. I've tried to deal with his shedding coat on my own during shedding season and I can't even make a dent compared to how awesome they do with blowing his coat out! He always comes back pretty and smells great. I also think the workers there are very personable. My dog is pretty skittish around most people but seems to love all of them(:

I have been taking my shihtzus to Chris for over 23 years. My pups get so excited when I mention her name and ask if they want to get their haircut. They run into the salon with their tails a waggin, always so happy to see her!! I am so thankful to Chris for discovering a growth between 2 of Cozmo's toes that turned out to be a cancerous tumor. Within a month the tumor was removed and he is doing well. My "kids" absolutely LOVE Chris. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

My dogs have never known a different groomer, 5 and 11 years old. They love Chris and she loves them. They get so excited about going and race me to the door every visit. Love Chris and will never go anywhere else

I had a 10 year old miniature American Eskimo that was very nervous afraid of everything, didn’t trust anybody or anything. To the point I was afraid to take him to any groomer because it was always very Trumatic for him. When I started taking him to see Chris I didn’t have to drag him up the stairs, I didn’t have to sneak away from him or I didn’t have to have someone else take him. He was able to enjoy his spa day, made him one happy dog. Didn’t come home all scared and shaky. And I tried every place I could think of. So when my daughter told me to just try Chris, I thought I’ll give it a try. When we walked in and she bent down to him and said “Hi Rocky”. I have to admit I kind of freaked out, because see Rocky had doggy dementia, so we weren’t always sure how he would react to different situations. But he was is fine is fine could be with her. I was so happy. I’m sure he realized he was as safe as he was at home. He even got to the point all I would have to say to him was do you want to go to the beauty shop! Or who wants to go see Chris! He would get so excited and the only thing he ever objected to was whether or not I allowed my Chihuahua to go with he didn’t want that to happen no matter what LOL. She was so good to him he would walk up to her he would let her take his leash he was so happy to see her he acted with her just like he did with me, my son, or my daughter she was a fantastic addition to his life very kind and very understanding to his many quirks. Thank you Kris for all the kindness and the things you did for him.

Chris has been grooming my dogs for 10 years!For a time we lived in Louisville where I tried various groomers but the price was to high and attention to detail just wasn't there so I would wait for our Wisconsin visits to have them groomed.I won't take my dogs anywhere else.Jan Warnke

Chris has groomed our standard poodle since birth. In fact we drive over an hour to have Holly groomed. Not only does Chris do a great job, but Holly always receives compliments when we are out walking.I don't know why a person left one star with no explanation. Sad.

Kris has been grooming my Doodle since I got him when he was a puppy 5 years ago. She is the only groomer in the FDL area who can do it right! Charlie loves his visits to the Barking Lounge to get a fresh cut and visit his friends. Kris is so friendly and she always goes above and beyond and gives each puppers a person touch. Even when I moved to MKE I still drove back to FDL to have Kris groom my dogs.She is so gentle and patient with my anxious rescue Shepard, he loves going there and even allows her to touch his paws (which he does not let anyone else do).Hands down Kris and the Barking Lounge is the place to go. She is so reasonably priced on-top of being amazing at what she does.
