I have never been to a fish boil, but I think Pelletier's was a good place for my first dip. See what I did there?Watching the fish boil process was engaging. The food was available almost immediately after the boil finished. Be sure to ask for recommendations on how to best eat white fish as it is extremely bony. The process involves removing the vertebral column inside the fish steaks and then removing what remaining bones you see or feel. THIS PROCESS WILL NOT REMOVE ALL OF THE BONES. EAT CAREFULLY.The fish is served with potatoes, corn, and onions and covered in melted butter. The fish is tasty and tastes even better the longer it marinades in its butter bath.Go get a pen and paper, and I will leave you with a parting PRO TIP.When the boil over occurs, a lot of flames are produced, resulting in a blast of intense heat. It is comparable to what happened at Chernobyl minus the radiation (I think). Stage yourself accordingly. Don't wheel grandma too close as she might melt.

One of a kind experience. It's a simple and rustic regional cuisine. The fish was so fresh and the portion is bigger than you think. The person who prepared the fish boil was very engaging. Even though it took an hour from the order to the food on the table, it was not boring. Kids had a cheese burger and fried cod. The cheese burger was decent, but the cod was old, rubbery, and very oily. Don't recommend the cod dish at all.

First time at a fish boil, glad I went to Pelletier's. Service was great, the boil itself was quite the show. We had Lake Whitefish, with boiled potatoes, corn on the cob and coleslaw. All was quite tasty! They brought us a delicious cherry pie as a dessert. They are dog friendly on their patio, which was the biggest draw for us. Glad that it gave us an opportunity to check out a great restaurant with a great show to go along with it.

Great experience! Make reservations early!! Day before is best. Military discount offered here! Food was good. I do prefer fried fish but this didn't disappoint. Do understand that there are bones to pick in this fish. There are boneless boils advertised if you can't do the bone thing. Just go slow and enjoy chattering while eating/picking! The boiled onions were delish! Fresh cherry pie for dessert! Drinks included too...all for $24 for the boil. Outdoor patio area was spacious with a beautiful cliff view. Parking will be a bit more effort if during a busy time, but you'll manage. Put a fish boil on your list if visiting!Kid-friendliness: Kids will love this show and the campfire cooking. Spacious area for then too.

Breakfast here was excellent. I had an amazing Cherry Muffin. My group throughly enjoyed omlettes.Vintage Door County, WI decor, ambiance. Very busy on a Fall weekend. Good, prompt service. Cash only. Centrally located to many fun, tourist stores. Parking is hard to find. Town of Fish Creek is quaint--a Midwestern, Lake Michigan version of Cape Cod

Fish boil is what convinced my husband to go to Door County and is now a yearly tradition. I had read that you could make reservations the day of but 1 year, we were not able to get a reservation here so we had to go somewhere else. NEVER AGAIN! Now I make our reservations weeks in advance. We get there 1/2 an hour before we are scheduled to eat, wait in line for our tickets and then go out back to watch the show. He really knows what he has been doing and does a great job of explaining everything. He answers all of the questions and offers information that he thinks we may want to know. After the boil over, then it's a mad dash to get a table. We were not lucky enough to get one outside but were able to sit by the window, so it was still nice. The food is very good and they have everything down to a science. After you are done eating, you can have cherry pie or ice cream. We chose cherry pie and it was the perfect end to a perfect meal at the end of a perfect day in Door County. If you don't like fish, you can order off the regular menu and still watch the cooking process. If you have never been to a fish boil, I highly recommend enjoying 1 at Pelletier's. You won't be disappointed.

Our 1st fish boil and what a fun experience! There is a reservation time and you show up ahead of time to watch your dinner cook. Definite plus as it is a show unto itself. The "cook" talked story, answered questions and was entertaining as he added basket after basket of our dinner ingredients. The line of people waiting to get checked in was rather long and slow. Having said that, this was yet another restaurant needing help during this COVID time. Having said that, the staff that WAS there was awesome and doing the best they could. The food was surprisingly good. I would tell you boiling my food is not my favorite, but there is something about a whitefish fish boil. Tasty and delicious.

Definitely come for the fish boil! It was such a great experience and the food was amazing! I wanted a third piece of fish, it was that good. I wish I could have subbed out my cole slaw for another piece of corn, but that's okay. A soft drink and cherry pie was included, I'm not a pie person, but everyone loved it. The restaurant was clean, inside and out on the patio. The service was great for the most part and I would have given 5 stars, had the female heavy set bartender with brown hair, was extremely rude. She beckoned for us to come so she could sign us up for the fish boil, and as soon as it was our turn to order, she started taking someone else's bar order from behind her and then proceeded to hold a conversation with them. Then once she did take our order she gave us the wrong instructions on what to do. Luckily one of the servers helped us out!

Loved the fish boil experience! Got plenty of food for $21-23 a person. Would visit again! Fish does have bones so don’t be surprised to have to pick them out but the fish is amazing!! Be sure to make a reservation and watch the cooking process!

An absolute must! An unbeatable experience to have your dinner made fresh in front of you and the chef willing and encouraging questions and interactions. He was so informative and friendly. The food was so delicious that we forgot to capture the beautiful a la mode dessert for this review. Thank you for a fun and delicious experience to top all “fish frys”!

This was a fun, unique, cultural experience! Definitely made me feel like I got a full Door County experience. The food was really yummy, not like the best ever but it was good. There was a whole onion that looked a little scary but was actually one of the best parts. Oh and of course the pie was awesome. The meal comes with the potatoes, fish, coleslaw, onion, a drink, and pie with icecream!

This is our first time coming and my wife and I along with our 8 year old granddaughter loved it! We all got the fish boil and it was fantastic! It was done right and the flavors were spot on. I really enjoyed sitting outside and so close to the boil pot that we could see everything that was done. I will definitely come back when in the area.Parking: There appeared to be plenty of parking behind.

This was a great place for my first fish boil! We made reservations and were told to arrive an hour earlier in order to watch the fish boil in the courtyard out back. For a first timer, you get a lot of interesting history about the fish boil tradition. It's also fun to see how the fire is stoked beneath the huge cauldron, and all the ingredients being added. After the presentation you grab a seat and your plate is brought to you. Fresh white fish (cod) and a side of coleslaw, potatoes, and corn. We got a slice of cherry pie for dessert. The food was absolutely delicious and so fresh.

The boil was an experience to see. I didn't have it, but those in our group enjoyed it. However, the ladies greeting us to take our order(30min-1hr prior as rules) was rude as very unprofessional. Even after my wife ate, she went back to get a second glass of red wine, and when the lady asked what she had my wife said "red wine" WELL......we DO have 3 red wines so how am I too know which one you had! My wife simple said "tell me the names and I'll know it, that simple." This was a one and done for us. We will not go back when in the area.

I gave this place 5 stars for the experience alone! I have never been to a fish boil. You get a ticket when you arrive for a seating time. You can order your drink and take it outside to watch them do the boil. Pretty cool! I love fish and I especially like the fresh taste of everything that was served with it. There were some bones in the fish, but I think that's expected. You definitely need to go to a fish boil if you go to Door County! Hope to be back soon.

Great value for the amount, quality and price. The "Boil Crew" puts on a nice show and the whitefish is fresh from the lake. 2 red potatoes, a small sweet onion, crunchy coleslaw and 2 types of fresh bread are all rounded out with a slice of Door County cherry pie. Delish!

The food was very good but would have been nice to have the option to pick boneless. Also could have made the entrance process faster by taking the orders when people make the reservations. Lastly, having umbrellas outside at the tables to block the sun would have been nice.

Interesting experience for sure! The boil part of the dinner was the the best part for me. The fish itself was ok but I’m not a big fish eater. It does have a good amount of bones in it. The majority of the bones could be removed by pulling out the backbone.

My first fish boil! Meal includes everything pictured. You will have to get your own "before" picture of the cherry pie.

We had the fish boil. It was soooo goood!!!! Well worth it to see the show as well (the fish being cooked), all with an awesome view of the bluffs of Fish Creek for your background. I don't eat coleslaw but their coleslaw was so good I ended up enjoying it and finishing every last strand of the vegetables!! Be careful with the fish, they are quite spinier than most other fish. Don't expect much from the cherry pie dessert, it's grocery-bought, unfortunately not from the Door County cherry orchard farms!
