If Nelson's doesn't have it, you don't need it.We end up here at least once each trip to Door County.Need something for the camper? They've got it or can find a work around.Forgot a swimsuit? They e got you covered.Items for the home or cabin? Of course.Lawn and garden supplies? Wide variety.Staff are always helpful and friendly and take the time you need despite being busy (because like you, everyone else is stopping in for something).

So, got (2) 5 gallon buckets of stain from menards. 2 years ago. Finally decided to stain deck, opened first can, and no color. Clerk did not actually add pigment, Menards needs to read child labor laws, I wanted chestnut brown but wife didn't want beige? Nelsons was the only store that didn't ask me where I purchased the stain from, they just gave me the pigment. Now that's a hardware store!

Large variety of goods for vacationers in need. Pricing won't break the bank but may feel the pinch. Depends on what you are looking for. More reasonable and larger variety than Ace in Sister Bay for sure.

This is my husband's favorite go-to place for everything he needs for his repair business. The staff is very friendly and they know him by name. It's rare that they don't have what he needs. If he recommends that the owner stock something he needs on a regular basis, the owner listens to him and orders it if he can. They also have a bulletin board where my husband has his business card pinned up. I like to go in there too and look for decorative things for our house. They also have a large propane tank and can fill our propane tank on our motorhome. I highly recommend Nelson's!

Brought back a receipted return according to their return policy. The manager would not give me a return on my original form of payment. Hassled me during the process despite my greatest attempt to meet the situation with kindness, understanding and compassion.I own my own business and would never find myself running a successful business if I conducted myself the way Gary did today. My local True Value staff would never be caught treating a rule following customer so poorly.Based on todays experience, I would recommend anyone to go to Sister Bay’s hardware store instead.

Our go-to hardware store. I am usually able to find what I need although occasionally they are out of stock for items with higher seasonal demand. Staff us always helpful and friendly.

The people at Nelson's are fantastic! When we had a problem while camping at Peninsula State Park, they went out of their way to get us the help we needed and ease our anxiety being far from home. I promise that they will get my business next time I am in Door County

We shop here quite often. Today I called to ask if they had a particular item and was told "I don't have a lot of time here, there's a line".Whoa!! I would NEVER say that to a customer at my business!! How about "could you please hold a couple of minutes until I can have someone help you"??????Needless to say, I did not go today!!Horrible customer service.
