On a leisurely Sunday morning at approximately 11:30 am, my husband and I ventured into the charming Apple Creek Resort Hotel & Suites without the formality of a reservation. Upon crossing the threshold, a pristine ambiance immediately enveloped us, signaling the establishment's commitment to cleanliness. In the absence of an immediate front-desk welcome, we settled into the lobby, where the tranquil atmosphere hinted at a serene mid-Sunday pace. Before long, an older lady, clearly engrossed in her duties, graced us with her presence. Despite her mission-oriented demeanor, she acknowledged our presence. Seizing the opportunity, we disclosed our lack of a reservation and paused to inquire about our friend's recent stay.Lynn, the friendly owner, emerged as a personable hostess. Eager to enhance our experience, she led us on a brief tour of a few rooms. Given our celebration of our anniversary week, we opted for the honeymoon suite—a delightful space featuring a separate living room adorned with a fireplace, and a bedroom exhibiting a spotless hot tub.Lynn's generosity extended beyond the confines of the suite; she presented us with an abundance of coupons for various local shops, boutiques, and restaurants. Our joy was further amplified by a couple of complementary bottles of wine. Lynn, a source of captivating stories and local history, added a layer of warmth to our stay. The following day brought a minor hiccup with the hot tub, an error entirely of my making. Remarkably, Lynn's response was marked by grace and understanding, far exceeding the expected level of hospitality. Promising to return, I left with a profound appreciation for the Apple Creek Resort Hotel & Suites. The inn's strategic location, coupled with a reasonable rate, made our stay all the more enjoyable. However, it was the graciousness of Lynn and the staff that truly set this establishment apart. I look forward to revisiting the Apple Creek Resort Hotel & Suites in the future, armed with a newfound enthusiasm for the great people who make it a memorable destination. As a parting gesture, I left Lynn with a small gift, unaware that her birthday was imminent. To those contemplating a stay around November 4th, I wholeheartedly encourage extending heartfelt birthday wishes to Lynn—a delightful touch to culminate a delightful stay. Cheers to the Apple Creek Resort Hotel & Suites, where the intersection of great location, favorable rates, and exceptional hospitality creates an unforgettable experience.

My wife and I planned a trip to Door County. About 2 weeks before the trip my wife suffered a medical condition that left it almost impossible to do stars. We called Apple Creek and reserved a 1st floor room. When we got there, they switched us to the 2nd floor, no call saying they had to switch us. When I tried to explain that my wife can not do stairs, I was told to talk to the owner in the morning. My wife bless her heart got to the second floor, but left her in unbearable pain. When talking to the owner the next morning she never apologized, never offered a discount, never did a dang thing. All she said is well the 2nd floor was okay last time you stayed. Yeah well her medical condition happened 2 weeks ago. I will never stay at thus hotel again!

Didn’t see that other people have had issues with this resort not refunding deposits until after our stay when we experienced the same thing. We are still waiting over two months to get our $150 cleaning deposit back. We were told we would receive it at check out. We left the rental space immaculate. Even vacuuming the floors (which we learned was required even for a 1 night stay). I checked out in person and was told I would receive the cleaning deposit back right away. When I didn’t see it after a few days, I called and was reassured that they would refund it immediately. Never received the refund. So now I’m disputing the charge with my credit card company which can take 90 days. The rental space we had was a two bedroom “cabin”. The water smelled. The fireplace did not work. There were holes in the walls. And everything looked like it hadn’t been updated in 20 years. For the price we paid for one night, $500, I would recommend staying anywhere else in Fish Creek.

great location off the main drag so is quiet yet easy short drive to downtown fish creek. Don’t expect any service, no housekeeping, no early morning desk attendant not there till 9? No security as entry to building have clear tape on locks. Booked king suite. clean yet smaller than what we have stayed in before, outdated with small TVs. No breakfast. Coffee pot needs you to bring your own coffee as what is provided produced weak almost see through strength 2cups. No utensils and none at desk. No elevator so if you are staying on the 2nd floor be aware. For the price we could have stayed right on the lake for less. Won’t book this hotel again for a suite. Best thing was location on quiet rd.

I’m not sure what’s going on in the hotel industry as I frequently stay at hotels due to work and leisure. But they are severely suffering and lacking the hospitality portion of their industry. I have stayed at Apple Creek resorts 2 separate times for business as we are renovating a house in baileys harbor. It was a place to sleep, the rooms are extremely dated, beds terribly uncomfortable, they have tons of out of the norm “rules” posted everywhere, but with very little inventory available, it was one of the only properties with vacancies (now I know why) and with having my kids one of the trips it had a pool!Front desk person (who I found out later was the owner) was scattered and unorganized. I soon established she was just having a bad day and tried to look past it. However, after looking at my credit card statement the following month I saw that they had charged me 3 different charges for the same stay. When I tried to call for clarification, as to the charges, I was spoken over, never given the opportunity to clarify the dates and charges or get an explanation before I was rudely snapped at yelled at and then hung up on.This person owns the hotel, she is rude, crass and unprofessional. You will have a very difficult time getting a hold of anyone before 10am or after 10pm…so watch out if you have a maintenance emergency or need extra towels. She has zero manners and has allowed her personal issues to take priority over her customers service or even basic kindness. I would highly suggest she find someone else for front desk to help people… unfortunate as her family is part of the history there in door county and her terrible attitude and unfriendliness definitely leaves a stain on that legacy. I would NEVER recommend anyone stay here. Sad as it’s a decent location and exterior is cute. It could be so much more with proper care, maintenance and a kinder staff. Trust me there are better options in the area than being treated so terrible and with such poor room conditions!

Apple Creek Resort saved our trip! There was a booking glitch with a different lodge leaving us roomless and yours away from home. I called Apple Creek Resort and they were able to accommodate us, totally reasonably priced, gave us a bottle of wine when we checked in and totally saved what would've been a ruined weekend get away. Owned and run by the coolest ladies in all of Door County!Walkability: Walk across the street to an adorable Market place, restaurants and anything else you can want.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. It really should be labeled as a motel. I'll start by recapping the rooms. They have a strong mildew smell in them that lingers on your clothes. I don't think they have a proper cleaning crew because the bed sheets were dirty (not awfully dirty) but a few sizable stains that made me not want to sleep under sheets but on top of towels on the bed. The rooms also weren't as advertised. I saw online that my room would have a table in it but it didn't. The last thing I will say about the rooms is the bathrooms. I wish they had proper soap. If you book here bring your own soap to wash your hands. The only other thing I will remark on is the strange policies they have. I booked a king suite. AppleCreek Resort proudly advertises online how spacious it is and how it can fit 5 people. The suite came with not only with a king size bed but also a queen size bed and a pullout couch that turned into a full size bed. Now, if AppleCreek Resort has a suite that large enough and you pay extra money for that large size suite, why would they charge you per person for that room? If it allegedly fits 5 people, then I should feel free to book it for 2 people, 3 people, or 5 people if I wanted to WITHOUT an extra charge. Well, this was not the case. I called the hotel and spoke to a very angry and defensive woman who said that I had to deal with because that's the way they do it. She also left me on the phone for 20 minutes and then I decided to hangup and call back. When she picked up again she started yelling and said to read the website and hung up on me.All in all, this is NOT the kind of place you want to be doing business with. The only nice thing about this hotel was the location. But to be fair, its a small town so everything is within close proximity to each other. I'm disappointed, but have learned my lesson. Do not book with AppleCreek Resort again.

The hotel is dated but clean. READ YOUR CONTRACT if you're staying > 1 night. Apparently, somewhere in there, it states that they only enter your room & clean, empty garbage, make beds, etc. upon your departure! I've stayed in a lot of motels/hotels and have never experienced this. Also, hopefully, you will only experience one person at the front desk. We checked 6/25/23 about 3pm, and she was wonderful & helpful. The next day, another lady was not pleasant. But luckily the wonderful lady was back there too & again very pleasant & helpful! And one more thing, restaurants are crowded & long waits. Very rainy day & just wanted to have a pizza. No deliveries allowed at this place!

This hotel is close to the state park and amenities but still far enough away from the crazy traffic of Fish Creek. I really did appreciate the location and the housekeeping staff they were super sweet. I would not recommend this place to a friend however. The room smelled like a mix of urine/teenage boy who needs to start wearing deodorant. I never complained to the front desk or asked for another room because I was terrified of the lady who runs the place. She was very rude to my husband. There was a mixup with the room we booked online and what she gave us, my husband tried to explain that we were getting a room that was smaller then what we had payed for but she would start talking over him and was starting to make a scene. The room was also outdated and the tv which we never used was mounted onto the wall right next to the bed so there was no option to watch it while laying in bed. The bathroom was extremely small and the shower was even smaller. The phone in the lobby was so loud or the walls so thin that you could hear it in our room a ways down the hall. Not worth what we paid for especially in comparison to other places we stayed in the area with the same or less price point.I wasn’t going to post a review but it looks like more people had the weird room switch-o-roo scam then just us.

Pass this hotel up. I was planning a weekday getaway in October. I checked the Apple Creek Resort website. I put in the search that I wanted two queen beds for two adults, one night on October 3, 2023. The calendar on their website stated that on October 3 the rate was $99 so I called and made the reservation. When I asked if the rate was $99 a woman started screaming at me that no way the room was that amount. I tried to say that is what your website says. She hung upon me and when I tried calling back-no answer. Very unprofessional. I get it - they're sick of tourists. . Look elsewhere.

The room had a dehumidifier and smelled like mold. The front desk person said "don't call to ask for towels, we are not Chicago."The other couple with us had leaking faucet. The owner argued and we had to videotape the leaks and water all over. The staff leave around 9 pm and don't return until mid morning. There are many other choices for this price. Our patio did not have a good view. When made reservations we were told we could walk across street for coffee. This was not true.

We stayed at this place because it was the only thing we could find. There are signs up everywhere about masks being required and this and that. It looks like they need to do some cleaning up from 2020 and remove a bunch of signs. The pool area had an overwhelming chlorine smell. We couldn’t stay in long due to getting a headache from so much chlorine. The room was ok. The front desk staff was nice when we checked in. This could be a really nice place, it just needs some work.

They over charged me from my booking rate. The owner Leanne is sooo rude. When I tried to talk to her about the difference she kept cutting me off and when I kept talking she would just get loud and talk over me. She didn't try to listen to listen. She didn't care or even try to show concern. The room itself had no light when I flipped the switch on. The bathroom is small but the shower is tiny! I had to shut the water off in order to put soap on my body. Or it would wash off as I was applying it. The bed was fine for an overnight stay. No coffee pot! Nothing allowed in the room! No deliveries allowed! Just a place to sleep. If the owner wasn't so rude to me I would have given better stars. The other staff was friendly when I talked to them on the phone.

Beautiful hotel and very accommodating owner. Lynn provided us with maps of the area and handwritten notes to help us explore. The sitting room was great to have and the whirlpool tub was nice. I suggest to everyone though, take a little bleach and run the tub for 20 min to get the junk out of jets because you do get the gunk coming out of jets from all who used it before. Blah.I loved that we had an outdoor deck. King bed was very very comfy. Great to unwind in room everyday after activities.Be certain to stock up at front desk on coffee, cups and shampoo for whole stay. Currently, they are following covid guidelines so there is no housekeeping or restocking so if you need coffee and cups at 6 am like us and don't get it ahead of time, you're out of luck. All in all, we did enjoy the stay. We travel a good amount and I would say that this room was a bit high but I did appreciate that bed.Be sure to ask owner any advice. She's very knowledgeable about the area and she truly cares about your stay.

I would say you are basically paying for location for this place. When we arrived, the room had a bad stench when we walked in, and we continued to smell it throughout our stay, so we had to keep the windows open (luckily it was fairly nice out). It was like a mildew smell. The kitchenette is tiny, the furniture looked like it was from 1992 and the bathroom needs a serious remodel. It would be fine if we weren't paying almost $300/night (we had a suite).Pros - the pool area was nice and the location is good.We typically stay elsewhere, but booked this last minute due to a vacation location change, so beggars can't be choosers, but we will definitely look for other options next time, unless they spend some money updating.

This was not a great experience. We called up the hotel after having another terrible experience with a different place. Apple Creek was happy to help and said they had a room available for the 3 nights we needed and quoted us the price. When we arrived, he kept giving us different increased prices, but we were desperate at this point. We took a room that we were told had a microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. However, when we walked into the room, there was only a fridge. Then, the day before we leave, I get a call from the front desk saying they went into our room to clean it for the next guest, but all of our stuff was still in there. I was confused as we still had the room booked for that night. The front desk lady apologized for the confusion and said they were sorry for the mix up and they would gift us a bottle of wine. Well, when we came back to the hotel, we asked the front desk if everything was squared away, and he said he did not even know what we were talking about. We never received the wine the wine that night either. The next morning when we went to check out, they wanted us to pay for the extra night, even though we paid for our stay the first night the increased price from the original quote. Needless to say, for all of the confusion and false promises, I would not stay here again.

We had plans to camp in Door County, but due to a variety of issues we ended up booking a hotel instead. By the time we made the decision most of our favorite places were booked but we had driven past AppleCreek Resort so thought we'd give it a try.The owner was at the front desk to welcome us and was very hospitable sharing a lot of knowledge about Door County including some of her suggested places for us to visit. They were very clear about expectations within the hotel given the continued COVID guidelines. The room was clean and updated, though nothing fancy. Having a private balcony protected by trees was pretty nice. There wasn't an abundance of extra space, but we didn't spend much time in the room so it worked out okay. The bathroom was clean, the shower could have used a bit better showerhead/pressure, but overall we were pleased. The pool and hot tub area were nice, especially when it rained it was nice to have an indoor place to relax and unwind.Overall, the price seemed high for what we got. We've stayed other placed in Door County that have nicer amenities for the same or less money so I was a bit surprised when I realized what we paid per night - being that we booked in a bit of a rush, I probably didn't pay as close of attention to the room rate as I should have - I anticipate the first rate I saw before booking was for 2 people during a non peak time, but there wasn't a lot of clarity about the actual rate other than a "total due" until seeing the itemized bill for what we ended up paying - my mistake, but I will definitely look closer next time - given there was no daily housekeeping, no breakfast, no "resort" amenities, I would simply say "beware what you are paying before booking".

❌❌❌ NOT RECOMMENDED ❌❌❌My husband was trying to book for a place to stay in Door County in November but he accidentally booked this place for this October instead. He realized it right away when he reviewed the email sent from this place. So I help him call them right away to cancel the reservation but I was told to call back in the morning to talk to the owner named Lynn cuz he is closing down and not able to help. I called back again next day morning right when they are open and ask to talk to Lynn like I was told. I have this older lady I believe that was her -the owner on the phone and she was so rough and angry out of nowhere and ask who I am? and then she hang up on me . I called her back and she was literally just yelling at me over the phone. I did not have a chance to tell her who I am nor why I am calling for.Long story short, She told me her place has a 15 days cancellation policy which is stupid . She told me she wont able to cancel us and give us any refund. She was so rude and absolutely unprofessional. They also sent us an email and notified us that we wont able to use any microwave, stove, fridge or coffee maker. No food is allowed to delivered to the hotel and there is no house keeper . This place is absolutely a joke . And I wont recommend anyone to come here. There are lot more better places to stay . Please read the review before booking. Dont waste your money for craps.

Stayed for our anniversary weekend. Room was large with plenty of space and well kept. Location is good because it is within walking distance of downtown Fish Creek. Enjoyed the hotel's pool and hot tub facilities as well as the room's whirlpool and fireplace. The staff also went above and beyond, starting with the complimentary bottle of local wine. We will be back often!

Great location, clean rooms, good parking. Pool was fun for our family. There is a private patio which was nice and unique. Location is right next to 3 town's. Our favorite eating spot for family was Bayside tavern. The room had amazing honeymoon wine, we got a free painting and coupons for the places close by.

Great location, near state park, good food & within walking distance of downtown. Old & well taken care of. Front desk very helpful with information on things to do, places to eat. Has a jacuzzi & large pool which we didn’t use but looked very nice. Room was pricey & we were there at peak of Fall. Location location ! Would most likely stay again.

First night my son got a cut on the bottom of his foot from something in the hot tub & the second night my daughter got a piece of metal stuck in her foot from the pool. Not to mention the rooms are very small. Said they’re Queen rooms but it’s actually a full size. The room towels are thin & not soft. There’s a fridge in the room but no microwave, coffee maker or iron. For almost $200 a night they should have more amenities. They only gave us $20 off our 5 night stay even though we won’t be using the pool again after those 2 incidents. Very disappointed & will not be staying here in the future.

We stayed four nights for our anniversary. Very clean! Loved the giant jacuzzi tub in our honeymoon suite! As far as interior decor goes though, it felt like I was stepping back into 1992 with the whole place - quite a bit outdated. The bed also felt really old. Firm, but it creaked every time we moved and sunk or dipped in all the wrong places. Our backs hurt every morning. They probably need to be replaced. All that to say though: Can’t beat the price!
