Waited a few weeks for these cardinal tetras while Tristan quarantined them. He gave me a call once they were ready and they are now happily swimming away in my tank! While I was there I had asked him for a small bit of Java moss to get another tank started with some, and after looking back at my receipt, he was nice enough to throw it in no charge. While he didn’t have to do this, you have no idea how much I appreciate the gesture! All his fish at the store look as healthy as can be and I will most definitely be shopping here more often. Absolutely phenomenal customer service and I’m blown away by the care he shows. At least at the time of this review, there is a reason why his business has a 5.0 rating. Do not hesitate to take your business to Tristan! Thank you so much!

Great looking healthy fish. This was my first time ordering fish online as I purchased a trio of blue flame apistos. I made the mistake of going with 2nd day air, which I will never do again. The first order had a delay in shipping(3days) and when the fish arrived they were barely alive and ended up dying within the 1st night. Tristan was great and responded quickly to my DOA email. He apologized even though it was not his fault the shipping was delayed and graciously replaced the fish and paid for next day air which was unexpected. By far the best customer service I've seen. I would highly recommend buying from Tristan's Tropical Fish. Pictures are from the 1st day after acclimation. 1 male 2 females.

I was alittle skeptical at first with his great prices and good selection of fish but I was absolutely blown away. Tristan kept me informed about my questions and shipment status, he had my order packaged and in the mail within 24 hours and to my door. Not only did all 13 fish show up alive but they were all VERY healthy and happy and so full of color! Do not hesitate when it comes to Tristan’s tropical fish! You will not be disappointed! I promise!!

Wonderful aquatics store. For such a small place he's got quite the selection. All the fish appear healthy and are not crowded in little tanks. The aquariums are always extremely clean and well maintained. He's got a great selection of aquatic plants as well.Tristan is very knowledgeable about all of his fish and plants. He is patient and willing to answer any questions and provide education.Whether you're looking for a new fish or to add some plants, or are just in the area, I highly recommend stopping in to check it out!

What a beautiful place!! Wish I would have found this sooner. Only 20 mins away and well worth the drive. The plant selection is huge, and the quality is even better. Got some fish for my daughters pond and are absolutely beautiful and doing great in their new home. Tristan was awesome to deal with and very generous! I will be coming back…again…and again….and again

Wonderful experience shopping here. Tristans dad was there when I came was helpful and helped me pick out a trio of awesome Apistagramma. The care of the fish was excellent and the set up was very clean and organized. It shows that Tristian was brought up by a hobbyist and with having a biology degree he has gone above the hobbyist level and become an expert.

Tristan is AWESOME. Top notch customer service and great communicator (huge in my book). Even with one shipment turning into a goat rope with delivery (he ships multiple methods), we stayed in contact the whole time. GREAT apistos and tetras I've gotten from him.

We took a little drive to find this hidden gem of a shop. I planned on doing some plant shopping but of course I just had to buy some fish from this beautiful selection. I found something I've always wanted to keep (badis!). I even learned some new things and good tips are always highly appreciated in the fish keeping hobby. Great looking fish, pristine tanks, highly knowledgeable staff and just an overall nice shop. Something for every freshwater keeper from beginner to "omg look at these discus!". Do yourself a favor and just set that new tank up now, because trust me, this is the spot.

10/10 great fish shop! Tanks were all very clean, no dead fish at all. Very good selection of cichlids and other freshwater fish. Owner was very knowledgeable and told me about their thorough quarantine process. Had no worries putting the bristle nose pleco I purchased straight into my display tank. I will definitely be back!

Drove over to Evansville from Janesville. The fish selection was amazing. He has fish you can't buy at Petco, PetSmart, ect.. I purchased some fish for my community tank. Definitely going to buy more fish from Tristan's tropical fish. I m very impressed!
