Star ratings. 1 bad. 2 below average. 3 average / neutral. 4 good. 5 excellent.I want to give this a 4 but need to come back. Had breakfast here, which was good. The lunch menu and unlimited soup sound amazing, and I can't wait to try it. Overall food was good but breakfast food is pretty standard. The Corned beef hash was great. Normal service, eclectic decor collected over the years. Feeling of grandma's kitchen which is the vibe they're going for. Love that they reuse the broken cups and make mosaics with them.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kids options.

We have stopped in here twice now for breakfast. The dining atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is excellent. Both times we got the warmed cinnamon roll, they are amazing. And each time we got something different to eat and the food was very very good. And if you get an interior window seat you might see the chickens wondering about.

We had a great experience here for breakfast. The coffee has a good taste. The breakfast hit the happy spot inside the tummy! The farmers special this morning had delicious curizo and fresh green onions on top. My experience here today is worthy of a 5-star review! I plan to go back to try other menu items. Two thumbs up!

Best breakfast in Door County! Their homemade granola is quite possibly the best I've ever had. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is great - super cute and clean! Have been here a few times now and can't wait to visit again when they are back in the spring!

This was a second visit for us. The staff is very friendly, efficient, and helpful. And the food is fresh & delicious. Eggs done just the way I ordered which when often I am served eggs that are fried in too hot of a pan & end up with brown, crispy edges & bottoms. Fresh, homemade bread too. I wonder though why more restaurants don’t serve homemade jams or jelly’s. Especially when Door County is known for cherries. Had pie ala mode last year when visiting & was so awesome. We will definitely be back.

Fried fish was okay but portion wise not a $21 meal. The white fish baked was not at all good in taste. However, Loved the soup, but a note to others :found it really confusing on the soup bar one trip only policy. I went to refill twice as I was seeing others but actually they have deals for bottomless soup for $16.The server was too busy and looks like in a hurry.

We did not have the Mexican food that they supposedly specialize in, but they have to do a better job with traditional American food. My wife’s cheeseburger ($15) was perhaps a quarter pounder at best and not very flavorful. My chicken wrap ($15) was just plain tiny. The cheeseburger was served with the wrong fries and the waiter corrected this immediately by taking away the entire plate. This is easier for the waiter, but what is the customer going to do while waiting to get the replacement fries? If you leave the cheeseburger and take the fries, the customer can at least begin eating the cheeseburger. In summary, Summer Kitchen is overrated and overpriced.

This place is quaint, cozy, and possessed of a certain nostalgic charm. Their main claim to fame is a soup bar that has a few daily staples (chicken dumpling, cream of mushroom) and a few more diverse selections which were all good. Their sandwiches are well constructed, satisfying, and hearty. The prices are on the high end, even for a tourist magnet, the average price coming in at about $15, which includes a full sandwich, fruit, and soup cup.The building itself is a little hot and stuffy and the men's room is outside (there's some of that aforementioned nostalgic charm) but it's cute and a nice little time capsule of a bygone era.Expect great food, hot soup, warm service, and a tab that's probably a little higher than you were expecting.

A very quaint and inviting restaurant, but so disappointing. My husbands oatmeal was superb.. blueberries, strawberries, bananas and nuts. My scrambled eggs and hash browns were lukewarm and sausage hot. Bottom of the coffee cup was covered with coffee grounds. WhenI shared the cup with a waitress, there was no apology. One couple had to ask for their meal. They had arrived before us. A local couple was served immediately.

A main attraction in door county known for their homemade soups and soup bar and a little lesser known fact is that they probably have the best cherry pie in door county. They were busy when we got their, but we were seated right away. The server was very nice. The food on their extensive menu was very good and the fresh daily soups were as expected very good too. It's definitely a place to make our regular stop.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to the front door

First the good- Summer Kitchen had a wonderful atmosphere. I ordered the tuna steak salad. The Salad was phenomenal and I would highly recommend it (I substituted the normal dressing for honey poppyseed). The soups were also delicious! They brought a water bowl out for our dogs and were decently friendly. Now the not so good- The seafood enchiladas my husband ordered were subpar. Two very very small enchiladas and we couldn't even tell what kind of seafood was used to make them. On top of that they were way more expensive than we thought they would be- very much not worth the money. If I spend over 20 dollars on a single meal I expect to at least not have to go get more food after eating. So overall- the salad and soup were really good- I'd just stay away from the Mexican food specials. Too expensive for just okay Mexican food.

We had an early supper here, primarily because we had a long day and we’re old! Lol! They have the BEST soup bar, and their sandwiches are great. This was only the second time we have been here. The first time was an accidental serendipity, this time was on purpose. We wanted to share a sandwich —chicken cashew salad on pita, made instead on whole wheat for us— plus we each had soup bar with two cups of soup each. The Tomato Dill soup, and the Chicken Cilantro soups were our first choices, and both had a perfect touch of spicy heat, then we tried the Chicken and Dumpling and the French Cabbage. All were delicious! Even with only half a sandwich each, and two cups of soup, we were stuffed, so got a piece of cherry pie and a piece of French apple pie to go. Three hours later, we’re still too full to eat the pie! The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere is homey. Recommend highly. Even though today was quite hot for early June (about 85°), it’s never too hot for soup as good as this!

My friends and I visited summer kitchen for the Fourth and had a great time! Our server Sofia was so sweet and attentive and recommended the Sofi Special: a mix of Cream of Mushroom and Tomato Dill soup (pictured) it was so good I had to buy a pint to go for dinner tonight. We will definitely be coming back. 10/10 amazing experience!

What a delightful place! We loved the charming idea of eating in a garden. The food was INCREDIBLE and Victor -our waiter- was fun, informative, attentive and knowledgeable. Loved this entire experience. My two teenaged daughters loved it also.We were thrilled to see they had cookbooks for sale. Their soup was so delicious. Truly, you need to eat here!Portions are generous, service is speedy, and well priced.Parking: Easy!Wheelchair accessibility: Fully wheelchair accessible.

I was super stoked to try this place based on the exterior. It looks so inviting and festive, I was certain the food would be good. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The inside was cute, again, I can't fault the decor. But once we saw the prices? $22 for soup? $4.50 for a glass of cherry drink? (Non-alcoholic) hubby reported the burger to be very disappointing. I actually enjoyed my chicken salad pita, but I can't get over the fact that it cost $18. It wasn't even a whole pita! Just a half with some soggy grapes. 2 stars for decor. That's it.
