We had a lovely stay in the Trillium suite for an anniversary weekend! As a younger couple this was our first stay in a B&B and we were not disappointed. While it was full, it was extremely quiet in our room (expect for the intense storm!), everything was clean, bed was comfortable and bath/shower were spa-like! The inn was very quaint with gorgeous views and very central to everything we wanted to do. We also enjoyed the option to have breakfast in our room, we only wish it was offered just a tad earlier as we are both early risers. Thanks for a wonderful weekend in Ephriam!

We stayed here for our anniversary weekend getaway. Great location, very charming. Decorated beautifully and so many lovely touches including 24/7 tea/coffee. Julia was wonderful and even had gluten free bread for me as part of the breakfast and was well versed on other items/options that were gluten free. We truly enjoyed our stay. The accommodations, customer service and location were all top notch.

Loved our stay! We were in the north cottage which was very open and airy - super comfortable to relax (especially the porch swing) and luxury linens. Small but well equipped (including Keurig coffee maker) kitchen. Very walkable to good restaurants and fairly central in Door County to other towns / bays. It is relatively close to a popular walk up restaurant / park and near the road but we never had any issues with noise. Easy and seamless check in and check out. Highly recommend!

The Hillside Waterfront Hotel is truly a luxury inn. Julia, the inn keeper, was excellent and every detail was taken care of. Our room was spacious and well appointed with a completely updated bathroom and an excellent shower. The common areas of the Inn, such as the library and wood burning fireplace, are lovely. The entire inn is impeccably clean and fresh.We stayed in the Mayflower room and the views of the bay and Peninsula Park were truly extraordinary.I highly recommend a weekend at the Hillside Waterfront Hotel for anyone visiting Door County!

My husband loved our stay at the Hillside Waterfront Hotel! It is more of a complete experience than just a hotel room. They put so much effort into every quaint detail on the property and in the rooms, and the free continental breakfast brought to our room was phenomenal. We stayed in the Trillium suite which is definitely worth the extra cost for the view from the extra large soaking tub. The vibe of the entire hotel definitely matches the cute and quint feel that is Ephraim. I definitely recommend staying at the Hillside!

We've been coming to the Door since the 70's. By far, Hillside is the nicest place we've stayed at. We loved our room, quiet & peaceful. Happy to have celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here! Thank you, Julia & Diane.

My wife and I took an overnight trip to Door County, WI. to view a potential rental/retirement residence. We knew we were in for a long and potentially stressful day as we viewed and inspected this property. In addition, we needed to find a location nearby to stay for the night. With that being said, we were extremely fortunate to be offered a stay in the Hillside Inn in Ephraim. Our room, the Day Lily Suite, was everything we could ask for and more. Although this trip wasn’t intended to be a romantic getaway, the amenities afforded us during our stay surely made it feel like one.This cozy suite came complete with a fireplace, as well as a walkout balcony with a spectacular view of Eagle Harbor and the waters of Lake Michigan. Everything from the Queen-size bed and luxurious linens to the walk-in glass shower and spa inspired soaps, lotions and shampoos made our stay a memory to be cherished. I should mention that the owner, Diane Tallion, personally greeted us upon our arrival and her assistant, Carrie, provided us with a brief tour of the Hillside Inn and escorted us to our suite before we settled in for the evening. Diane and Carrie made us feel very comfortable and at ease even though the process of viewing property earlier in the day had been a bit stressful to say the least.Typically, I'm not one to write reviews, however I was so impressed in this case that I felt compelled to share my perspective with others who are considering vacationing in Door County. Overall, this experience made our overnight stay calming and relaxing. The property is simply gorgeous - so warm and inviting. We had a great stay and will highly recommend the Hillside Inn, Ephraim to friends and family. Definitely a 5 star rating!

We stayed in the South Cottage.... what a delightful place! Clean, comfortable, across the street from the lake and ADORABLE! Only thing that was a little odd was that I never saw another person the whole time we were there. From check in to check out! When we wanted some wine glasses I had to call someone off property that told me where to find them in the kitchen. A little unconventional but that certainly wouldn't stop me from staying there again!

Our first time to Door County in a long time. This small hotel feels like it was just renovated. The decks off the rooms are amazing and the staff who called before arrival this morning very helpful. The pictures speak for themselves.

As a wedding planner with over 10 years experience and hundreds of weddings coordinated, I have never witnessed such rudeness, lack of empathy and flagrant disrespect for a Bride as I did while assisting my client at the Hillside of Door County. Julia cancelled my Bride’s wedding in their garden citing my Bride disrespected her when she forgot her mask during an appointment with her. Of course, Julia herself was not wearing a mask and when she voiced her concern after being directed by the owner, Diane, the Bride immediately donned one and apologized. It was clear that Julia and Diane simply did not want to service my Bride’s wedding and were looking for any excuse to cancel, though my Bride had been working with the Hillside for nearly a year! Conveniently, this venue does not provide a contract with terms of service, so they are able to cancel at any time with no penalty to themselves, though now they have put my Bride in a serious bind with having to find a new venue. After planning for a DJ while Julia knew full well that was my Bride’s plan months ago, Julia and Diane told us an ordinance in Ephraim disallowed any amplified music and the village had a 9PM curfew so the wedding guests would have to depart at that time. Of course, upon researching noise ordinances, we found this was a blatant lie - the village does not disallow amplified music, nor is there a 9PM curfew. None of this information was given to the bride prior to her paying a deposit to secure her date. This conversation happened on my Brides original date for her wedding which had to be postponed due to the pandemic. Julia and Diane never expressed regret that my Bride had to postpone and even forgot what her date was entirely. Overall the attitude from Julia and Diane was that we were a nuisance that they’d rather not deal with and that very reasonable questions about the new noise requirements were unwelcome. So much so Julia disappeared on us to go sailing when we’d traveled from out of state just to meet with her. Why Julia and Diane decided my bride was not fit to use their garden is a mystery, but it’s clear that they should not be in the wedding business if they are unable to treat their Brides with respect and courtesy. I would not recommend this venue to any couples seeking a venue in Door County.

Love this place, my wife and I came here for our honeymoon and it was amazing. Our room was just what we wanted it to be; we had the Forget-me-Not room. It works great for two of us with a very comfortable bed and the design of the room was great. Staff was super friendly and helped us retrieve a lost item. We both highly recommend staying here!

Stayed in the north cottage, was not happy with the lack of information at check in. No information about the WiFi password, TV not working. Tried to call and rang the doorbell and no response. Went up next day to advise of issues. Only one more night after tonight and TV is still not working, issue with cable they have called in a ticket. View is great but area gets crowded in the evening with a popular ice cream shop a stones throw away. location is dog friendly but was not happy to see ant poison on window sill where dogs could access it. Only other bad thing is it takes the water a few minuets to warm up, seems like it is coming down the hill from the Inn's water heater.

The luxury, boutique hotel just reopened in Ephraim and what a treasure! All 5 of the high end suites have a private, luxury bathroom, fireplace and views like no other. Ephraim is the heart of Door County and the Hillside is the Epitome of what one would expect when visiting Door County to relax and rejuvenate. The owner is a pleasure to be around. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

The front desk old woman as it sounded was extremely disrespectful and agitated when she answered the phone this morning, saying we were “calling in the middle of the night” in a very rude tone, when the hotel is 24 hours, we then asked the check in age and she blurted “well that would be adult” does adult not mean 18? We asked what she meant by that if it was 18 or 21 and she goes “well that would be 21” we are not 21 yet so we were just told her she should be a little kinder to her costumers and she continued on by saying we shouldn’t be calling at this time. DO NOT WORK IN WITH PEOPLE, if you cannot be respectful. Grow up !
