Very large small town grocery store with added features of a Caribou Coffee & Pharmacy & Liquor "store". Always clean & well stocked. Small deli, decent produce section, large meat selection of both fresh & frozen. They carry some items that I don't typically see in small town stores. Lots of parking, including handicapped spaces. Handicapped accessible entrance with an electric cart for aid in shopping. Both self checkout & employee service checkout, which is what I use, all employees were very helpful & friendly. They have a shopping rewards program which you can download to get coupons & store "dollars" for redemption. I enjoy shopping there & will continue to use it as a go-to grocery store.

**0 stars**I went to get some groceries after a long day with my 4 young kids with me. One of my kids began crying, and I was not able to console him. Because of this and the fact that he was betting a bit noisy I tried to finish up faster, and was almost finished, when one of the store employees came and told me I needed to keep my kids quiet or leave. I didn't have time to go elsewhere, and since I was almost finished I did make my purchase, but after having an employee be so rude to me, I will not be returning, and if you happen to need to go to store and have your children with you, you might consider traveling the extra distance to red wing or river falls to get your groceries.

This place is the worst and most expensive grocery store, the meat department is the worst meat I've ever seen. My three dogs won't even eat the meat from this place, any of it. I find it strange that the meat is Grey all the time and nasty. I wouldn't even take it if it's free. Don't get me wrong the workers are nice and friendly. But I dread going to this grocery store it makes me sick that this place could sell the meat the way it is and it's been bad for what seems to be years now. And I don't know if every nilssens is this way but the one in Ellsworth is the worst.

I can not tell you how many times I have come home from shopping there to find that alot of what I bought was past its sell by date, don't they check that.

This is a great small town grocery store. We stopped in to get supplies for a week in a nearby cabin and they had everything we needed at very reasonable prices.

Love small town businesses ! Great fun staff !They bring your groceries right to your car & stuff them all in.....good weather &.bad. Never fuss when I ask for help on a 'too high' shelf for me to teach.The Pharmacy Staff are 'top notch', too !! Thank you Nilsson's & Village Pharmacy !!

Well it's was my first time in the store. I'm new to both the state and neighborhood, and prices are pretty high. For people who are low income I would honestly shop somewhere else. I know it's a small town here in ellsworth, and people have to make ends meat, but I feel like this store is taking advantage of those who have no choice shopping there on their low of incomes. Sorry folks I'm just being honest.

CHECK EXPIRATION DATES! I have found more expired food in this store than anywhere! I was getting coupon items there once and the entire row was expired!!! How many people probably bought it and didn't even look at it or pay attention?!?! And you shouldn't have to! That's what your employees are getting paid for! Obviously it happens and is going to continue happening..and once in awhile its understandable....but its all the time here and in multiple departments. The staff is generally pretty nice...although there are a couple up front that have been very rude. There is one lady that is extremely rude that works up front that nearly had me in tears one day when she herself was a customer and not working. So uncalled for! But there are ALOT of very nice people that work there that always put a smile on my face and are extremely helpful and courteous!

My wife will not go into the one in Ellsworth wi. Because there is a employee there named Adam p. He asked me for naked pictures of me wife then offered to trade his wife's naked pics very gross and he likes to touch people and make inappropriate comments. Im pretty sure he's a unregistered pedifile in redwing mn. But lives in Ellsworth wi. The rest of the employees in nillssens are great and are always very wonderful to me . But my wife won't go in there unless he stops working there .

Clean. Pretty spendy place. Most of these franchise stores are. Has the attitude of it's the only show in town pricing. Go to Walmart 20 minutes away and still save...or Aldi's if you have a choice.. Not much for good produce.

I find it very disappointing that they don't require their employees to wear masks properly. Everytime i go in someone has it half off. I stopped going, they don't care about the customer. High prices, worst produce ever. Wish Hinks still owned it, they cared about the customer and had the best produce.

So I'm thankful Ellsworth has a grocery store. It works if you are in a pinch. However, this place is ungodly expensive. Really takes advantage of the nearest grocery store being 14 miles away. Got this bacon broccoli salad from the deli, it was $8.99 lbs. This goes for $6.99 lbs. At Family Fresh in Red Wing, as well as River Falls. If you are ambitious enough to make it yourself, can do it this for a fraction of it. I also got some Cowbot Caviar (14 oz.) for $6.49, this goes for $3.79 (13 oz)!!! I dont care if I need something in the future... im shopping somewhere else. This place gouges you, and during times like these, it's even harder to afford. Not worth stopping, unless you enjoy $2-$3 markups on everything you buy.

Getting better with the remodel and adding more business in ellsworth that are needed. Still being the only grocery store in town without competition doesn't provide any help with the prices though. They are a bit higher than what you would see in a larger town.

This store has high prices, and limited choices for brands on items. A large percentage of the time when I shop here, the items I want aren't even in stock. I recently had an unpleasant shopping experience in this store, and when I went back in there today, I was talked about between the employees, including one of the managers. I heard it, and saw it. Very immature behavior. I will choose not to shop here anymore, unless absolutely necessary.

High prices, rude staff, pack and haul or carry your own groceries to you car and don't forget to return the cart or they'll scold you . You're better off shopping at Kwik Trip, at least they're polite. Ellsworth needs a another place to buy food.

It seems that this is a Nilssen's problem, because I had the same problem with the Baldwin location. They don't keep sale items in stock. On a Monday, they're out of an item that went on sale on Sunday. And apparently the employees are told to give the stock answer 'The truck will be here this afternoon' (true or not), because on Tuesday morning they were still out. Considering their exorbitant prices, you'd think they'd invest a little more in keeping their stores well-run.

I love the store, it's always well stocked, cleaned, great produce, love the meat department, friendly staff..........but.... the prices are really high compared to neighboring town's grocery stores.
