We stayed in the lighthouse unit in the first floor. It was a cute place and was nicely renovated and clean inside. Our only complaint was the musty smell. We tried the dehumidifier and that didn't work. We ended up opening the windows and the breeze was nice. Bed was comfortable, shower was great and patio nice for relaxing. Thanks for having us.

We stayed at the Harbor Light Inn on a recent getaway to Door County. We wanted to be a bit removed from the activity in the peninsula’s towns–charming as they are–and close to Newport State Park, where we love to hike. We’re glad we chose it!We were drawn by the inn’s unique style and feeling of history. The Troll Hole, where we stayed, was small and cozy–with steep stairs leading up to the bedrooms from the main floor. It would not be a good choice for someone unable to manage those stairs, but we did fine. The Harbor Light is not a generic modern motel. It’s a place with character and charm–suited to those who don’t mind having things be a bit rustic. It’s also right by the ferry to Washington Island–and the Shoreline Restaurant, which is one of the best eateries on the peninsula. Our stay was in mid-May, so the season was not quite underway: Eric, the new innkeeper, had just arrived and was in the process of learning the ropes and getting things set up. He had his hands more than full, but he was very conscientious–and receptive to our requests. We think the inn will be in excellent hands with his oversight.

Great little inn! Split the spinnaker suite with friends and came out quite affordable. The communal kitchen/dining area was great to make dinner in and the location being close to the parks meant lots of hiking and star gazing. The only complaint I had was the door played a short but fairly loud tune whenever it locked, which meant entering/exiting with other people sleeping was a little difficult.

Stayed for two nights this summer in the room above the front porch... room was spacious, clean and had a great shower. Lovely porch and quiet location to enjoy the sunset and relax after exploring Door County. The hosts were amazing... genuinely interested in helping us find great activities and knowledgeable of the area. Even helped us out after our trip when we left something there. Really impressed with their service. We love the outdoors and were particularly impressed with the two county parks just south of Gills Rock along the Bay and absolutely loved our visit to Newport State Park. It felt like our own beach with very few visitors and beautiful views!!

We stayed in the Troll Hole cottage in the back and it was just the coziest stay. For how old the structure is they did an amazing job remodeling the inside while maintaining the integrity of the style of the home. The kitchenette has all the essentials. Bathroom was completely stocked so we never had to unpack our shampoo or body wash which was nice. Air conditioner worked really well all 3 days, I kept forgetting how warm it was outside because of how cool it stayed inside. The beds were very comfortable! The little deck out on the back porch was so nice at night and there was plenty of firewood to have a nice campfire the last night. The only thing to be careful with are the stairs to the upper floor - we kept our luggage downstairs just so we didn't have to hassle with carrying it up and down. Woman who checked us in was so nice and friendly - really enjoyed the main room in the big house that had pamphlets for all the activities in the area. Would highly recommend staying here!

The Harbor Light Inn was a delightful find at the top of the Door Peninsula. Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated all the amenities offered by our friendly host. Each morning began with a two-minute walk to the coffee shop down the street for a beverage and some delicious bakery. While family obligations kept us from spending as much time here as we would have liked this trip, we look forward to returning in the future to relax and take in all they have to offer.

Wonderful experience! Absolutely great accommodations for my large family of 19. We had 7 units, two with full kitchens. The common room enabled us to get together for games and a final meal with all. I especially enjoyed the gazebo which quickly became our outdoor social meeting spot. The manager and his wife kept the accommodations very clean and very helpful when we asked for advice.

We visited on 10/23/22. Stayed two nights. We stayed in the second floor of the light house. It had a living room, large bathroom, and a bedroom. The bed was horribly hard and we did not sleep well.We mainly chose this place because they allowed dogs so we could take our Scottie Along with us which was great. Large property, grill to use, tables and chairs outside and a fire pit. They have a large great room with a full kitchen to use if you want. Sauna, we did not use.On the northern tip of the peninsula, about five minutes away from the Washington Island ferry and not far north of Sister Bay which was a happening area!

A Peaceful Haven - For those seeking a peaceful place to lay their head and get away from the busy towns, this is it. Harbor Inn is a beautiful location with a wonderful, friendly and helpful couple who own and caretake. The room was wonderful with loads of seating, a bookcase with lots of books, a fridge, coffeemaker, tv, and great running water/shower including wall shampoo, body gel and soap. I locked myself out of the room, and the owner was there immediately. I even met some people staying right next to me with their dog, and we had a wonderful conversation. There is outside seating as well as a main area by the office with a kitchen that area all accessible. You can be social or not. It’s also just down the street from the ferry to Washington Island. It is a quiet, lovely place and I would recommend to anyone in the area.

Cozy and Inviting! Our Spinnakers Suite has two beds, a little kitchenette and best of all, a VIEW of the bay! It’s beautiful! There’s a commons area with games, a kitchen with utensils, and campfire pokers for s’mores! They have a fire pit for fires, with seating around. Firewood included! A hammock for reading books and relaxing, a picnic area with a gas grill for cooking out. There’s a Sauna as well! The gentleman who checked us in gave us a tour before giving us keys.

A beautiful Inn with an old time feel. I loved sitting under the shaded pergola and reading my book overlooking the water. It was so peaceful and quiet. We stayed in the Moonraker suite- great for a couple traveling with a teenager! The Innkeeper was so nice and full of suggestions. Present yet non-intrusive. The lack of morning coffee was easily solved with a 5 minute walk to a delicious coffee and sandwich shop. Would stay here again!

A perfect spot for my girlfriend and I at a fantastic price. When booking our room, stayed in the Country Door Suite, I was worried about it being too dated but was pleasantly surprised to find the room cozy, clean, and nicely furnished. The shower was even extra spacious with two shower heads, which should definitely be advertised as we found it extremely convenient. The staff was welcoming and friendly, with a quick check-in time. For $150 a night it was a steal. An overall fantastic stay and if we ever are back Harbor Light Inn will certainly be at the top of our list.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. We were offered an upgrade to a king bed room, which we took. We were shown both rooms before we made our decision. It we as a hard choice because of the views from each room. Our room was large, very clean, and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I would recommend to anyone traveling to Door County.

My husband and I stayed for the weekend with our 6 month old son. We stayed in the Troll Cottage. The cottage was very clean and the beds were super comfy. The place was adorably decorated with a Scandinavian theme. The owner was very nice and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable with the area and gave us great recommendations. We loved the whole experience and will definitely be returning. They even offer some quick grab and go breakfast items which is nice and convenient. The place is full of character and provided for a memorable experience. Thanks for the hospitality!

We found Harbor Light Inn after a long search for a place in Door County that didn't require a two-night minimum stay. The pictures looked nice and the price was great, so we booked it.On the way to check in, I started looking at some of the reviews to get a sense of what to expect. The vast majority were positive, but there were a few negative ones that gave poor ratings for absolutely ridiculous reasons. This place was fantastic. The room was a lot bigger than I expected based on the pictures and had a cute little deck with a table and a couple of chairs. The beds were almost obnoxiously comfortable. The room was clean and exactly what we were looking for with a one-night stay. The property overall was very cute. There are several different options for accommodations, as well as a fire pit and some lawn games out. It looked like grills were available for use.We checked in and we were given a little tour and then showed to our room, which I've never had happen - even at a couple of B&Bs I've stayed at.The only thing I have as a criticism is that curtains in the room in addition to blinds would have been nice. It got a little too bright, too early for us.We've already talked about taking a long weekend sometime soon and coming back to stay here. It was a great location and a great value.

We have been to Door County and stayed at countless places...this was by far our best experience! Dog friendly which persuaded us to bring our four legged family member which made the trip unlike any other and totally unforgettable! Owners are kind and they run a great inn. Beautiful view from our adorable balcony made it over the top. We will be coming back that’s for sure!

Some friends were staying there. They said it was great. Lots of parking and big trees and shade. Great 2 person shower. Good spot for the wedding crew. Beehives above the porch were getting big!

over priced. Continental Breakfast is pretty undesirable. Busy road. Lighthouse suite has heated floors that won't turn off in summer. Room was constantly 81f and very uncomfortable. Coffee is good! People are nice nice patio and fire pit

They're under new management, which you'd think would be a good thing. The fiance and I are planning our wedding at a private residence in Gills Rock in 2017, so we reached out to various accommodations in the near vicinity to get booking underway. Most places in the area are welcoming and easy to work with. This place? Not so much. The good news? They're quick to respond. They won't block the 10 rooms, which wasn't really a big deal, and they offered that we pay $1500 per night for the whole resort. Or we can have 10 people get on the phone now and fill it up. Neither of those options are really feasible, but we still wanted to try to work with them so at least we could stay there. It's pretty cute after all. All seemed to be ok, not great, but ok enough. But when I asked if we could check out an hour or two later than 10:30, as it will be the morning after our wedding, I was met with hostility and an unnecessary bad attitude. The price is a steal for the area, but clearly it's an example of getting what you pay for with a bad attitude to boot.
