New Owners doing it right. Door County at it's best. Right price for great food. Service was immaculate. Restaurant setting was awesome. Food was out of this world, from apps to dinner entre (had to skip dessert cause of my diet at the time). You guys are doing a great thing... Don't stop what you've started. Highly recommended from anywhere far or near.

Relaxing dinner at a local place in the top of Door County. We had a special anniversary dinner that was great.. loved all the ways to eat the local specialty, whitefish, with a view. My favorite was the whitefish chowder. Good service. Clearly very popular. Not open to the public on weekends. My only criticism was that it was a little pricey.

Excellent helpful service. I have some mobility and hearing issues and I was not comfortable where we were originally seated but they quietly moved our party to a more comfortable table that was in a quieter section of the room. They even brought me a cushion to make me more comfortable. And the fish. Perfect. To make it better, the restaurant was only about 59 yards from the condo we had rented in Gills Rock.

We had a party of 12 on Thursday evening. It took about an hour for our table to be ready and that's with a reservation. The bartender did an excellent job with drinks and was very personable. I will say that the food was incredible! The view was fantastic! We would have enjoyed the meal even more had the waitstaff been friendlier. I'm hoping that she was having a bad day. The place is worth a visit! The whitefish on the Rock was amazing. We will be back.

One of many institutions in Door County. Located at the tip of the peninsula, it is the last stop before Washington Island. Even though they offer variety of items, you come here for whitefish, whether as smoked dip or broiled whole fish. I had old fashioned with whiskey although a true Wisconsinite might prefer with brandy. Their cherry pie is also excellent especially with vanilla ice cream.

Absolutely phenomenal restaurant in beautiful Door County. I love the ambience of the place, especially being able to watch the sun set as we ate dinner. I had the seafood pasta and my husband had the whitefish and both were amazing. The service was above and beyond. We were very happy to be able to spend our 10 year anniversary in the same place as we had our wedding dinner. Thank you for a marvelous experience!

A must stop while in Door County - the whitefish is amazing - the cocktails outstanding - and the sunset views are wonderful. Worth the wait for a table. The salad and soup choices are good as well. Not your traditional supper club - unique options with an attentive hostess, bar and wait staff! And the romantic table for two is a delight!

Everything here was delicious and the portions are generous. The whitefish with cheese and sour cream was surprisingly tasty and I would definitely come back for just that. The appetizers and salads were great.

Arrived with out reservations on a late Saturday afternoon. Told about 45 minute wait & could have a beverage at the bar or outdoors. Sat outdoors as weather was beautiful & it seemed really warm & stuffy in bar area, no AC? Good selection craft beers, couple seltzer’s, cocktails, big wine selection. Our hand held buzzer went off approximately 45-50 minutes later. The menu was not too busy but had enough of a selection. Definitely more of a seafood menu, I think there was only 1 steak selection. My husband had the Thai vegetable chicken pasta dish which he was very impressed with the flavor. I had 5 berry salmon with baked potato. Entrees are all served with delicious sautéed vegetables including julienne carrots, zucchini, etc. The only thing I was not happy with was the texture & lack flavor of the salmon filet. I expected a tender, flaky piece of salmon but this was more of a dense filet. Maybe a different type of salmon then used at restaurant nearer to me?? Anyway the staff was very friendly, helpful & efficient. We would return if in the area.

Wow. I was looking forward to eating here because of all the great reviews. We ordered two speciality drinks the Fruity Margarita and a Bloody Mary. Not good at all don't waste your money. Ordered a Top of the Thumb Cherry Cocktail. Better but very sweet. Ordered Asian crab cakes. Mushy and greasy. 2 Pan Fried Pearch Dinners. The perch was gritty and greasy tasted liked it was cooked in old burnt oil. The fries were very good, best part of the dinner. Coleslaw was good. Ordered an after dinner ice cream drink a Mudslide. Good taste but more like a martini than a ice cream drink. It was very watered down. It was a shame the food was not better. The service was great

The food at this restaraunt was really great. I will say that if you are like us, and get excited about bread on the table with your meal you may be a tad disappointed. The bread was not very good, maybe it was a little old?The restaurant is relatively high end with some more expensive items on their menu. That being the case, I was disappointed to find paper napkins, and a bowl full of pre-wrapped butter (for the bread). In my opinion these are upgrades that need to be made for a restaraunt to be deemed "higher class".They had an assortment of wines, but no red wines that were local (this was surprising and disappointing to us). We were prepared to buy an expensive bottle of local red wine and ended up only getting a glass. Before we were seated we sat down at the bar (which has wonderful ambiance and provides a waterfront view). We both ordered extra spicy Bloody Mary's and I were really disappointed. There was no spice at all and both drinks overall lacked flavor. The Bloody Mary was advertised on their menu, so I assumed it would be amazing. In my humble opinion it could use a little work.Overall, the restaurant provides beautiful views, is at a prime location, has a wonderful assortment of whitefish on the menu, and is a great stop for an elegant dinner.

The dessert was a highlight but the crab cake snack was disappointing (no photo). The pecan encrusted walleye was a meal. Perhaps the best part of this dining experience was the sunset.

A really great restaurant! They have different menus for lunch and dinner. Dinner starts from 5 and serves specialty dishes. We had the Jamaican fish sandwich and chowder for lunch. both of which were really good.

Exceptional food, fabulous service, gorgeous location. This place deserves a full five stars. Hubby and I went for my birthday on their first day open of the season, and it was a perfect outing. My compliments to the entire staff.

Beautiful restaurant in Gills Rock. We have been coming here for years. Great place for drinks and dinner at the top of the peninsula. At this point they are only open Wednesday and Thursday for Dinner.

For the price ($50/person) and 90 minute wait, not very impressed. I had the Thai veggie stir fry and my wife had the grilled chicken. The Thai was pretty bland. Definitely could taste some curry but nothing else and no spice at all. Presentation was great. The grilled chicken had great butter garlic sauce and the chicken was tender. The potatoes appeared to have a blotch of dirt on it. Definitely a spot or brown dirt type material that was very gritty and earth tasting. The old fashioneds were excellent but needs a little more alcohol.

Went to dinner with another couple. I had the pecan encrusted walleye. Every one else has the perch. Portions were large and the food was good, but the bill for a perch dinner and walleye dinner was $100-for basically a fish fry. The price did include two drinks.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily wheelchair accessable.

The Shoreline Restaurant is located in Gill's Rock, Door County, Wisconsin. For those not familiar, Door County, located in the northern top of Wisconsin's peninsula, is a favorite vacation destination for many, attracting people from all over. At the heart of it all, is a place near and dear to my heart, the Peninsula State Park. Surrounding the park are several gorgeous, historic waterfront villages filled with tons of tourists, shops, restaurants and attractions. Gill's Rock is located at the very tip of the peninsula. The Shoreline Restaurant is part of a hotel, located next to some shops and the launch for the Washington Island Ferry. I have vacationed in the area many times, but this was our first time trying the Shoreline Restaurant. The view is beautiful...the waters and bluffs of Green Bay, the ferry coming and going, people fishing off the pier, and best of all, the sunsets. We arrived with no reservation around 6:30 p.m. The place was busy, but we lucked into one of the last tables next to the windows. Truth be told though, the restaurant is small enough and has so many windows, that I would think any table would have had a decent view of outside. There is an extensive lunch menu, consisting of baskets, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups and appetizers. The dinner menu consisted of steak, chicken, pasta and quite a few seafood and fresh fish options, including some very tantalizing sounding whitefish (a popular fresh, local fish) options. Average price for dinner was in the mid to high $20's, which includes fresh bread, salad, veggie and choice of rice or potato. We happened to be on a tighter budget that night, so I opted for a lunch selection, the fried cod basket (about $13-14), which included coleslaw and choice of fruit or beer battered fries. The cod was smaller nugget shapes, with a crumb like breading. It was fine, but as a Wisconsinite connoisseur of fish fries, my preference is beer battered. The coleslaw was nice, on the sweeter side, vs. too vinegary. I don't care for melon, a majority of the fresh fruit offered, so opted for the fries. They were good, skinny and beer battered, but being fried, along with the fish, I only could eat a few. I also tried the soup Du Jour ($5) , homemade cream of mushroom. Delicious! My favorite part of the whole meal, along with, of course, the gorgeous sunset happening as we ate. My husband tried the Beet N' Goat Cheese (w/chicken) salad and loved it! We finished off the evening with a cocktail outside on the patio overlooking the water and the end of that beautiful sunset. I would say all in all, our experience at the Shoreline Restaurant was good. Great menu, tasty food, and fabulous view. My only complaint was with our server. Upon ordering my cod basket, which included that choice of side (fresh fruit or fries), rather than ask which option I wanted, he moved right on to my husband's order. I assumed it was an oversight and asked, "I have a choice of side , don't I?" To which he replied, "Oh, yea, but I just assume fries". Excuse me?! What?! He figured he could assume? And then as he delivered my cup of soup, he basically slammed it down on the table, nearly off the edge, as he ran by to another table. He did inquire if we were enjoying our food once or twice during the meal, but only as he ran by, pausing in mid run. I get that he was busy, but still...take a moment for good customer service. As an average, I give the Shoreline Restaurant 4 stars. Food selection and taste, and the view, 5 stars. Prices, 4 stars. Service, 3 stars.

Great food. Good view. Excellent location to watch sunset. The interior is a bit crowded, be I liked it, as it gave the restaurant a more cozy feeling. Our waitress was very nice and was on top of things without being intrusive to our conversation. There is a pier in front of the restaurant that was fun for a little walk after dinner.I recommend this place.

Annual visit for the focused menu, great cocktails, good wine selection, and relaxed atmosphere. Bread was stale. Our usual choice of the smoked whitefish dip was disappointing this time around. It had a lot less smoked whitefish and was extremely peppery. Hard pass next time. They have a daily offering of seafood crudo at market price worth asking about. 3-4 interesting salad offerings I'd want to try.Entrées of the whitefish (we chose the panko crusted, lime cream sauce prep) and pecan crusted walleye were hits. The seasonal vegetable side was cooked perfectly.Friendly and prompt service. View of the bay, even if not seated at the windows. They seat Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, starting at 4 pm (2023 season). No reservations, so get there early or plan to wait at the bar or outside overlooking the bay.

Great restaurant with good food and great view overlooking a small marina. I had the sea food platter, comes with local white fish scallops and shrimp, only complaint shrimp was overdone.
