Beautiful property and amenities however the entire resort is dated. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in suite 360 and found it to be very spacious with little updates to the rooms. Some small updates to the bathroom fixtures. Brass and wallpaper were common. The AC did not work. The hair dryer in the master bathroom did not work. Most of the windows did not open making for a very unpleasant temperature to sleep. There was no DVD player or casting available.Overall we were very disappointed with our experience and will think twice before spending $400 per night at the Osthoff.

Broken bathtub drain, and it was clogged. Ankle deep in someone else's pubic hair. Took two calls to the front desk to send maintenance. Hallways outside the room were littered with day old room service trays. Smelled disgusting. Very limited parking. Guests were forced to park on the street. Front desk staff could have cared less. The only 5 star experience was from housekeeping. Also the room we stayed in had construction starting every day including Sunday in the stairwell. Literally constant hammer pounding for hours. Felt like a Motel 6 experience.

A winter get away here was lovely, but a couple of things to note. There's a terrible mildew smell in the hallways (at least while we were there).Furniture in rooms (couches and chairs) aren't in great shape. No room cleaning included, but we were only there 3 nights so not a huge deal. The service from all staff was amazing. Although the overnight power outage followed by a fire alarm evacuation during a snow 4am wasn't fun and we didn't get an explanation or apologies even in an email.Overall, our group won't be returning, especially not during winter. Looks like it is a very cool place in the summer though.

My son and I drove 558 miles to spend two days at this beautiful resort. The room was top tier, the meeting room was spacious and the Sunday meal was excellent. Three stars for location because of the distance.Walkability: We parked close to the main entrance.

Very nice, I’ve been staying here with my family for about 3-4 years and it’s really nice, there used to be to be these beautiful murals in the pool area but now they are gone which is very sad. The rooms also have a bit of outdated furniture and the service is okay. The food is mediocre at best but there are other places with good food just not by. I’m giving the location a 4 because its a bit far from other places.

Upon arrival while we were a little early the entire hallway of where our room was located was lined with dirty sheets and garbage as far as you could see.I suppose being early maybe this could be justified, but then later realized we were as far as possible from the spa, restaurant and seemingly in the south entrance wing where the carpet so dirty and old. Why we were not in the newer remodeled area i do not know. There couldn't have been more than a handful of people booked here off season and on a Sunday through Tuesday visit, so I don't understand.Staying with the room, again with location and so few registered why they choae the room next to housekeeping suite where you can hear all kinds of noises and even feel the vibration on the wall. Then there was the hot tub. My main reason for coming here was relaxing and hot tubs to help alleviate some aches from stressful living and body aches. The south entrance hot tub is beyond what I would consider relaxing as it is looks so worn down and dirty I wouldn't dare enter it.Having researched the resort in advance, i knew of the spa and chose this stay for that reason. While going for a couple of apa experiences with hopes of getting my relaxing there learned those hot tubs (inside and out) were also not functioning properly and water was barely luke warm. Couldn't use them either during our very brief stay in the spa. While trying to relax around the hot tubs since we couldn't use them realized they must be responsible for the heat in the room as well. Needless to say it was simply too cold to hang out so we left.Thought we would go to the main hot tub bybthe pool, onmy to learn they put up caution tape around it and chairs blocking its use like a construction site Clearly this is a sign that no hot tubs should be used here. Then for dinner at concourse, why is the advertised online menu different than the actual. While there were still a couple of choices seems it has been slimmed down from what is on internet. Not a huge deal since we are here only two night, but beyond that would have become problematic as the whole town has limited options. It seems they have since corrected this since my complaint. While we could not make it out, there is some kind of sour smell we had to continue to walk through by the spa in order to get to the restaurant. Is it the carpeting or salt room?. We just didn't know and thought it could be the salt room experience and therefore opted to not use that as well. While the staff were very pleasant, the resort itself was lacking and not even meeting the basics of a resort spa experience.I do not recommend this stay, especially off season. If you choose to try them out I would be sure to inquire the basic services are operational before you book. Also, find out where your room is located as the newer section is nice whereas the unremodelled section is very old. Wouldn't plan on hot tub usgae!!Worst of it all is I that when I contacted them to discuss these details, I did not even get bothered respect of a call or email, only a large charge on my credit card for my stay.I have photos but not sure how to post them here while on phone. Look for those on my other social media reviews.

Stayed for a weekend in one of those rooms that is like a suite. Not sure what Osthof calls them. Rooms and views are super nice. Fairly clean. People working the front desk, bar, and restaurant were very nice also. Location is amazing, great view of the lake, easy walk to the rest of town to get where you want to be. This place has to be busy in summer, and I bet it's a lot of fun too.

Nice facility. Rooms are clean and atmosphere is good. However they don’t handle complaints well. The tv in our room wasn’t working and they’re maintenance man incorrectly diagnosed so it didn’t work for a second day. The second maintenance man figure out our remote control was faulty brought another and it worked but we were greatly inconvenienced at 10 pm and again the next day. The front desk could care less. The General Manager John Steffes doesn’t return his calls or emailsRooms: Nice facility. Rooms are clean and atmosphere is good. However they don’t handle complaints well. Absolutely loves this place. It was very peaceful our suite was so spacious we had a full kitchen with dishes and real silver ware. The living room area had a fireplace and TV. The bedroom was separate and was very spacious and comfortable and had a balcony seating area. We loved the jet tub and the huge shower. Every thing was great and relaxing I will say it is a big property but once you know where You’re going you can’t get lost. There are three restaurants and a spa with in the hotel and lots to do around in the area. We loved it so much we will be coming back.

The location is nice and the views are pretty. The room was comfortable, cozy, clean, and accommodating. The service is rather lacking. The service people are friendly in passing, however, seem to have an attitude when addressing issues. That said, we experienced multiple issues including another room charging our card, our reservation having trouble being found, room service not completing our order, and food quality in the restaurants in the building were pretty expensive for being very average. The hotel could use an update on their organization and service people. Otherwise, it was a comfortable.

This place should be top notch for how expensive it is. Super dirty. Cobwebs all over the balcony/porch. Bathroom wasn’t clean. The carpet and furniture was stained. We unfortunately had people smoking weed below us and it stunk up our room. The beds were comfy at least and spacious. The spa was pretty mediocre so do yourself a favor and skip that. The location is absolutely beautiful. We just didn’t see the value in this place unfortunately.

Was at 'Ottos' for lunch. It was awful. I sent the resort an email on the experience and they just ignore it. I'm shock that this resort is rated 4 star. This resort has gone downhill.Anything I can recommend is don't stay here and DON'T EAT here!

We reserved two nights. We first asked for a room close to the entrance because we had a lot of stuff. They gave us the furthest room they had. We asked to change, they gave us a supposingly better room that was super hot with AC not working. Plus the room smelled disgusting. For 300 Dollars a night that’s ridiculous. We ended up canceling and leaving. They were super unfriendly and not helpful. The girl at the checkin, Samantha, was a complete b****.

We dined at Otto's Restaurant at the Osthoff with a group of 23 of us. There was a limited menu available, which is fine for a group our size however the food was just terrible and took forever. we had reservations at 7pm we didn't receive our meal until 845pm. The Marinara sauce was not at all homemade and straight out of a can, pasta not even strained properly making the sauce watery, the hangar steak wad not a hangar steak at all, the Mashed Potatoes were legit powdered Potatoes, the shrimp was way over cooked and very salty, the pastas were cold, the salmon was also very over seasoned and salty. When told to the waitress all that was said was ill tell the cooks nothing at all was done to correct the issues. I have worked in restaurants and ran some very successful establishments. I never complain, but what we were served and how we were served was just unacceptable for what we got and what we paid. I expect a lot more coming from a prestigious resort like the Osthoff. The property itself is beautiful, but hospitality and your food and beverage program needs a lot of work. It kills me to see the F&B department feel that it's ok to serve what they serve. Please feel free to reach out as I would love to help consult your food and beverage program. The resort has so much potential. It may do well but could do even better if ran correctly.

Not having visited Wisconsin before, the resort looks beautiful from the outside and the grounds are amazing. The inside of the hotel though is dated, dirty, and basically looks like something out of The Shining. Was here for a business trip and the front desk person assumed I'd been here before, so didn't bother to tell us how confusing the layout is. She sent me off with a map and after wandering with my heavy luggage for several minutes, I stopped a person in a uniform who told me to keep walking. It was still several more minutes before I found my room. The whole room was very antiquated and when I called for room service in the morning, I was told it didn't start till 8:00 a.m. It clearly caters to families on vacation, which is nice, but there were also other business travelers who seemed very confused by the set-up. The one plus is the meeting/banquet rooms. They are in a separate area and they look beautiful. I'm sure weddings are amazing there. It's just not meant for the weary business traveler.Rooms: Mine was old and antiquated, with an old-fashioned glass coffee pot. No bottled waters to drink in the room, so would've had to walk several miles downstairs to the gift shop to purchase any. Not all outlets in the room worked either.

Wonderful hotel right in the center of charming Elkhart Lake. Grounds are beautiful with easy lake access & a man made beach. 3 restaurants but seems like they serve the same things. Nice lobby bar. We got the 2 bedroom/2 bath suite (sleeps 8) plenty of room for all of us. Nice kitchen, large living room with lots of windows & a washer dryer. Staying here is a splurge but facilities is a beautiful hotel & only 5 min drive to Road America

My daughters and I had a bachelorette weekend celebration at the Osthoff and had the time of our lives! Our two bedroom suite was big, beautiful, clean and comfortable and the perfect place to relax. The property offers so much to do and is right next door to many additional amusements in Elkhart Lake. The lake itself is spectacular, the best in the state I'm sure! And every staff member we encountered was helpful, cheerful and kind. We visited the spa in January and that was wonderful too! We plan to come back yearly at least. Just the best!
