I'm an over-the-road truck driver and I've been to many restaurants and truck stops but let me tell you this one is the best! For starters there's free overnight parking with plenty of room out back for your big rig. The restrooms are spotless and so is the rest of the restaurant. I came in close to closing and ordered the combo platter starter, ribeye special with mashed potatoes w/gravy, mixed veggies and chicken dumpling soup. My meal was cooked to perfection and brought out quickly. The chicken dumpling soup was amazing, such great flavor! My compliments to the chef and the rest of the staff. I can't wait for my next visit.Parking: Very large and clean parking lot

Stopped here on my way to delivery. They had really good reviews, and it was close to my drop. I had a day to waste. Shower was clean, people were friendly, and while I was waiting for food I met the owner. Very friendly guy. Gave me free soup and drink while I was waiting. The reviews are right. I'd definitely recommend this place.Parking: Plenty of truck parking. Huge lot.Kid-friendliness: Family Restaurant

Went around 6pm on a sunday was not to busy. Service is good not sure how it would be if it was a full house. Food came out shortly after ordering the fried chicken stated it would take about 15 mins and it did but not to long of a wait. Food was good the beef liver had splendid flavor along with the onions and bacon cooked nicely too. Fried chicken was only ok not as crispy but it was still crispy 3 hours later which is surprising would recommend if you want it for take out. The cream chicken and rice and chicken dumpling soups where very good too along with the fries they were amazing also!

Food was great. Had the cheese broccoli soup and the BLT sandwich with fries. Place is extremely clean and very cool decor.3 stars on service was because they are short staffed. It was just one girl and she was on the phone asking where her replacement was because she was running late to leave.She was doing the best she could they just need to hire people.Other than that everything was good.

The girlfriend and I were just at Edgar family restaurant we both were more than pleased with Ashley and Urims service they were both fantastic. Ashley kept asking us if there was anything else we needed and kept checking up on us, I felt very welcomed at the restaurant today also, the food was overall amazing I highly recommend Edgar Family Restaurant as a good place to eat! Keep up the good work guys !!

I got the Edgar Burger and cheese curds. OMG they were so delicious! My husband got fried chicken and his was delicious also. Friendly waitress who was helpful.There is great parking for your tractor trailer also.

The food was so good. I got the special 1/2 pound cheese burger for $9.99 and my mom got the special lunch order for Mondays the 8oz New York Strip and 3 jumbo shrimp with a side of mashed potatoes and the chicken dumpling soup, for $17.69.

It was really busy but sounds like this is normal for a Friday. We could see why. They were so good about finding us a booth. Their specials were good and tasty. And we had the clam chowder- excellent! So if you're traveling on Hwy 29 near Wausau, take a stop in.Parking: Plenty of room, which was good since it was busy!Wheelchair accessibility: There were available spaces up front. And we saw folks with walkers that were getting served. Bathrooms were HC accessible too.

Fish are friends but here they are food. Good portions for the price you pay. The fish swim down you tummy and fill you up. We had the fish platter with 2 cod, 2 perch and 3 shrimp. The only they could work on is the corn, it was bland. Also the soup was delightful. Overall a good meal.

Friendly owner and wait staff. Highly recommend Friday cod fish fry. They have an amazing avocado chicken salad. The restaurant is always clean. I'm from WI Rapids and I'm completely willing to make treck. Highly recommend!!!Dietary restrictions: Avocado chicken salad is keto friendly.

This restaurant is a local landmark. It had always been known to have the best food fastest service and best waitresses in the area. The food is exelent and the portions are larger than any place around with excellent quality. If you are anywhere near the place ypu would never regret visiting the restaurant for a dinner date or family outing.

First experience was for their Friday fish fry. It was served to us piping hot. Fish portions were large and crispy. French fries hot and crispy. Large baked potatoes. Side salad was cold and crisp. Coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and tasted great. Excellent service by our server.Second experience was good. Delicious mushroom and Swiss burger with fries. Baby beef liver with bacon & onions was cooked perfectly. Hot, tender, and moist. Very large portion as you can see on the photograph. Real mashed potatoes?? They didn't taste like instant potatoes if they were?! Beef gravy was flavorful and smooth, not overly salty. Chicken dumpling soup was a let down. Not many chicken pieces or dumplings. The broth was overly salty. The side of corn was bland. Our server was slow and not very attentive.Our most recent experience was Sunday breakfast. Their mimosas are okay. Small size for $3. On a positive note, the orange juice used is non pulpy plus they drop a stemmed cherry in which sweetens it lightly as you sip it. Western omelet was of large size. Hashbrowns were crisp and hot. Their traditional eggs Benedict was amazing. I am fussy when it comes to how my eggs Benedict is made. I expect perfection and that is what I got!! My eggs were properly poached. English muffin was toasted before getting its layers. The thick ham slices were tasty and not overly salty. Their sauce is perfection. Smooth, creamy, rich, and the just right hint of lemon. Again, server was slow and inattentive.Overall though, this place is an excellent choice for any time of day food fare!! I can only rate four stars as the service needs improvement.

Drove by several times, finally stopped in and I’m glad we did! This is how all family restaurants should be. Friendly, clean, great food and decent prices! Will stop again.
