Ranger Rick! How is this place not rated FIVE STARS?! Friendly faces in the shop, always helpful and their doggie is just the cutest. Always a must stop when in town and love to chat to them. Are the city slickers shocked by quality gear and prices? I feel disheartened reading some of the reviews. It’s called fishing, not catching! Some say overpriced but their selection is awesome and if you’re serious about fishing, this is the spot. I mentioned of going to *censored* lake and Rick debunked the myths and told me what I should fish for. They set me up for some Bass rigs and I did real well. You get what you pay and don’t expect a free tutorial in fishing. It’s still taking me my lifetime to figure it out. Thank you 🙏🏻 See you soon!

You have to be open to sell items in shop. Seems to be closed a lot. Ice fishing season is open.

Stopped in here for some Tackle and advice on my first trip to the UP in May. The owners were extremely helpful in assisting us choose a lake, providing us with the tackle and bait that we needed. We found the walleye and put limits in our kayaks. Thanks so much Guides Choice. I will always highly recommend you.

Was up this past week and bought 2 new rods and reels, along with some bait and tackle as well. Was very well taken care of and the owners were very helpful. I was taken back that they had remembered me from a year ago because of some spider bites I had. I would highly recommend them. Great people.

Ok. Owner wasn't particularly helpful. Made me think I was bothering him even though he said it was the slowest day of the year. Only engaged when he was bragging about what a great fishing guide he was. I spent about 50 bucks. I would have spent a lot more if he had seemed like he wanted to help some in deciding what I needed.

We visited this fishing shop on a Sunday afternoon. My husband is an avid, experienced fisherman. Most fisherman are friendly and excited to talk about the sport. This shop is well stocked with lures and accessories, however the owner was incredibly rude. It was our first time visiting Northern Wisconsin. When we asked for recommendations about good spots for certain fish, he said "the best place is wherever they are biting." The owner is the exact opposite of most sportsmen. If he would rather be fishing, then close shop and go. Don't stay open and treat customers like an annoyance. We regretted spending money and time in this establishment.

Wish I could give this place a better rating. Really cool shop with helpful and informative staff (except when you get that one person who is just there to get a check) vast selection, awesome fish tank, great guide services. The major draw back is everything is clearly over priced to take advantage of people visiting the area and need something on the spot. Even the live bait is a bit over priced. Other than that it's a good bait shop if you don't mind spending the extra cash.

Very extensive selection of all lure types from musky to bass. There is also a very cool native aquarium that is a few thousand gallons. Their prices are quite high which leads to the 3 stars but the store is fun to look through

Went in to get a fishing license with my husband, requested to get the disabled one and told her we had letters for proof, she proceeded to process license and asked to see letter, which were on our phones, showed her name, today’s date on it and that it stated we each received disability, the clerk kept swiping over the letter telling us that it needs to be from SSDI, which we informed her was a branch of Social Security Administration, which is were the letter is from, she just kept reading through the letter until finally I took the phone and asked what was it she needed, as it was very clear that her intention was to read about our personal info i. e. Award amounts etc, she was very rude and stated that she was told she needs to read that info, as if the amount of money we receive is any of her business or will affect fishing matters! Once I stopped her from reading the letter, she became even more rude about it and I told her we would just go to the DNR, well we got our license, without being discriminated against, and was clearly told it doesn’t need to have been read in-depth as she did. Will never enter that establishment again as we did not ask to become disabled in life nor should be treated so poorly and rude by anyone for it!

Looking for some high end musky gear, was not disappointed. By the way, never lift a styrofoam bucket of bait by the rope handle, it might just collapse on the floor.

Love this place. Always get my lures here. They are friendly, helpful and have a huge selection of so much gear. This is one of the best places to stop for gear, bait and advice.

Way over priced. Not helpful at all with fishing information. Disagree with them and they might put dead minnows in the pockets of your cloths. They will go so far as to bring some bimbo in dressed like Daisy Duke to distract you so they can damage your personal belongings. WATCH OUT !!!!
