Went here on Sat. Lettuce was all brown. The Stocker was stocking the shelves with the same rotten lettuce. 3 rotten potatoes in bag that I picked up. Got home with grapes many rotten ones, really. Shelves are not stocked. Everything sitting around. I don't know how this store stays open.

Well, two of my four bags ripped...again. so sick of it. Doesn't matter, paper or plastic...the plastic ones are worse, but they both suck.I'm adding to my previous comment. Tonight, only auto checkouts were open. Oh, maybe there aren't enough people working to operate checkout lanes you say. Nope. Four employees standing around the auto checkout lanes talking rather than cashiering and bagging. Very irritating.

DeForest store NEVER has carts in the store! And the carts are trash! Freezer doors are falling off the cases, they stock the shelf’s at peak shopping hours. It’s almost as if the adult employees are to good to stock shelves or go and get carts! this is a high volume store! Let’s get it together guys!!!GET NEW CARTS!!!!!

Pick N Save started as a 3.5 star store. Then Kroger's bought them and there was a remodel, and for awhile they really seemed to improve. Most of 2017 I'd rate them a 5 star store, but near the end of the year it feels like they completely stopped caring.Last visit they were out of stock on 6 of the items on my list, and the Foldgers Half Caff coffee has been out of stock for over 2 weeks. They try to hide their lack of product by spreading the decaff coffee across a huge row since most of the Folgers is out of stock, but that just makes it even more frustrating.I saw about a dozen missing price tags, and nothing is more frustrating than having no clue how much a product costs. Almost all the produce bags were gone, and you had to hunt around the whole area to find one with a roll in it, which isn't really how I like to spend my time.Update 3/9/18: They still continue to amaze me. Really check the expiration dates when you shop here, I accidentally purchased yogurt 2 weeks past the sell by. Also thanks a ton Mr. Bagboy who tried to cram $80 worth of groceries in 2 paper bags, my bread takes up so much less space now because of you.Update 3/14/18: $3.14 strawberry rhubarb pies for Pi Day! Time to swing by and feel a bit better about Pick N Save! I stopped by at 4:30pm, and they were completely sold out. I asked an employee if there was more in the back or anything, and he said “uhhhh, probably not” and walked away. What great planning for a special, and what amazing customer service.Update 7/17/18: Things seem to be improving some, back to 3 stars

I live in Windsor and this is the only food store around. What a mess! Filthy place. Too many empty spots on shelves. Expired food being sold all over the store. Rotten, fuzzy & slimy fruits and veggies. They have water spraying on the produce all the time so by the time you get it home it's already rotting. Check expiration dates! The milk, yogurts, cheeses, pizzas and just about everything has already expired before you even got to the store. Double and triple charging plus never getting the advertised sale prices every single time I go through the line with a cashier. And if I go through self check it takes forever to scan a whole cart full.Plus they won't take cash and the watcher employees keep telling me to use a credit or debit card instead. What if I don't have a credit card and only use my debit card at the atm? This place is a dumpster fire waiting to happen. Few nice employees are the only plus about this store. Never going back!

Absolute worst customer service that I've ever experienced in retail. More specifically in the meat & deli department. The fact that the lady told me " Instead of just standing there, you could go buy something pre-made ..i'm busy right now". Every time we ask for something from the deli or meat department it's a complete chore and seems like we are doing a disservice. Why work in retail if you are going to be extremely rude to the customer.

This store had really terrific customer service in the early 2000s. It's gotten lax with that. Also, they only ever seem to have one non-self checkout open, if that, later at night there isn't even one so your only option is self-checkout. Self checkout and bagging suck.

Very disappointed in my shopping trip this afternoon. It was 1PM - there was no one checking out or bagging. Self checkout was backed up with only one person available to help. I have never done self checkout and the person helping me had to keep me waiting while she assisted other people. I had a large order. Weekends seem to be the best time to shop when high school kids are working. They at least smile.

This place is the pits! From odd/foul smells in the store, expired tasting milk, no products on the shelves to negative customer service. What happened? Don’t say COVID because other Pick and Saves are great. I take my mom shopping here bc it’s close for her. In addition the prices from the shelf to check out is inaccurate. When you advise the clerk, they tell you to take it to customer service instead of just correcting it. Looks like we need to find another grocery store. The convenience of this store isn’t worth it.

Absolutely the worst deli customer service anywhere. The 3 times I have been there have all been ridiculous. The first time, I waited at the counter for literally 15 minutes before my wife had to find a random store employee. Then the deli person was extremely rude, telling us both that she had been busy in the back and that we were disturbing her. All we wanted was two of the seasoned chicken breasts, and she made sure to make it as dramatic as possible. There is absolutely no excuse to be away from your station that long, especially in the right after work hours when customers are most likely to come through.The second time I "only" had to wait 14 minutes for service, and she once again complained about having to help customers. This last time, I waited 10 minutes, found a random store employee, and then waited another 10 minutes. After 20 total minutes, still no one had come out to help. I ended up leaving without purchasing anything.Absolute dumpster fire.

Purchased a 3 pound package of the advertised '80% made in store' ground beef on special for $3.49. It was priced as per advertised and rang up accordingly. However, it WAS NOT 80%. It was 73%. There were multiple packages placed by the sign, all signifying the advertised promotion. Should have questioned it before purchase as the meat was grayish, 80% had a reddish tone. While frying said purchase, the pan was half grease, which does not occur with 80%.

The store is a mess! Pallets, empty boxes and items that need to be put on shelves sitting everywhere. Even the department managers complain the things are not getting done. Then you go down the isle and see what looks like 3 employees talking about other things than work, produce stacker on the cell phone texting, number of others not doing much at all.The pic n save app never works in the store. I had to go through the items I bought and show them on the phone to have them credit the item. Butter $2.49 Oscar Meyer bacon 2 for 1. Stop the digital coupons.Shelves not stocked!Good thing they are the only store in town or they would be closed down.

The deforest pick n save never has what I’m looking for. Certain products are empty on the shelves for what seems like months. I’ll get coupons for products that seem to never be in stock. Other stores in the Madison area always has a far better selection. The other stores can stoke their shelves. Why can’t this one? Only reason it gets a 2 instead of 1 is because the staff is friendly

What the heck. Saturday morning 9 am. One cashier, six deep. 6 self serve all full with people trying to check out, some with heaping, heaping carts of groceries. I thought there was a limit to self checkout. Shift manager can't call for another cashier? It is so frustrating. Their produce has gone down hill; their selection is , well, not a selection; it looks more like a junk store with displays EVERYWHERE!! I know they have been busier since the pandemic than they ever have been, they can't afford a few cashiers? They are so desperate for sales that they have to have 6 pretzel displays? Come on, clean our store back up and staff it properly. If it wasn't for some of the really nice people that work there I would go elsewhere.

Do not go to this store if you are looking for specific items. They are ALWAYS out of multiple items and shelves remain empty for days. The produce is terrible. The only positive is the self check-out staff. They are always friendly.

Updated Review: This place is still in need of a total face lift. Products are still difficult to find and many times this locations doesn’t carry the item your looking for. We receive coupons that many times we have to drive to another location just to use simply because they don’t sell the product in this store. Produce is continually hit or miss and many times they are out of what your looking for. This location is much smaller than most other locations but finding things tends to be more difficult still. The service has slightly improved but the cashiers/baggers still seem unhappy to be there most days.Previous Review: I absolutely can't stand this place. They never have a good variety of products or they always seem to be out of what your looking for. Quality of fresh veggies, fruit and deli is not very good. And lastly, the service is just horrible. The service desk employees are rude, cashiers are rude, and rarely do you ever see a friendly face. This place needs a total face lift.

Let's just start with saying the 2 star is for the company and not the employee's. save yourself some time and drive to another grocery store, over priced and understaffed. and also a creepy old guy watching the door, yes he works there. also watch the scan price!! they count on you not paying attention, there is always a sale price that does not scan correctly and you will over pay if you do not pay attention.it's really unfortunate Kroger can not appreciate the community they are in, DeForest and Windsor are fast growing, and we need a bigger grocery store. I can not wait for grocer that can understand that. Kroger is not that grocer.

Cluttered and never stocked. Being the only game in town sucks. I stop at Metro Markets in Monona and Sun Prairie and they are light years ahead of DeForest. I visited the one in Oconomowoc and thought I was on a different planet! Clean, roomy, and not one empty shelf or freezer. Can’t blame supply issues anymore.Employees are nice and probably trying the best they can. Upper management and Kroger Inc. need to step up and expand the building to the north and rebrand it to a Metro Market.

Hate using the self checkout when I want to pay cash. Only 1 cashier on duty, 7 customers in line. So the self checkout and card so I don't have to wait. Rotisserie chicken had no flavor. Loved it before Kroger bought. I go 3 times a week to try to get the Big K soda, 2 liter bottles of Diet Caffeine Free. 3 trips and I am lucky of I get 3. Maybe management should start to order MORE of what the customers buy.

Employees are nice but it's a very neglected store. Produce area looked terrible, many things were missing and I don't know if I would trust the meat there. Looked very dirty and not appetizing. Better to go to Sun Prairie's Kroger locations 15 min away

Zero checkouts open, had to use self checkout, plastic bags are about as thin as a tissue, shelves empty, coolers & freezers empty. Not a single bag of frozen fries/tatertots to be seen no small cans of chicken broth, spice area is a joke, couldn't get a dozen eggs only dozen and a half. This store is an absolute disaster!

It seems like every time I come for something specific they don’t have it. The produce is sparse and usually not good. The meats case and department as a whole is unappetizing to say the least. The glass on the case is cloudy and gross looking and I’ve often seen chicken swimming in its own liquid. The staff in the meat department has been rude and standoffish every single time I’ve asked for something. Go to HyVee or Festival if you want to see how produce and meat should look and especially Festival if you want to see what excellent customer service looks like. The only consistently redeeming quality is the floral department. I think the only reason they can continue to operate at such a subpar level is because they have no competition. This will undoubtedly fall on deaf ears because I don’t see one reply to any of the bad reviews. I’m really not one to complain but I’ve given this place all my patience for 2 years and been repeatedly let down.

I was here yesterday and some lady was shopping for water without a mask on. She was touching all of the six packs of water, checking for something despite them all being water and probably getting their spit all over the place.I was going to report her because I don't want to die because some Karen decided not to wear a mask but then a worker saw her and just walked past by her.They also didn't give a when we were in line, following the markers and people would just get in between the markers- cutting in front of us- with their mask under their nose.I no longer trust that this store is sanitary enough to keep people safe.

Horrible horrible horrible I do not recommend going here!! They will keep all your meat purchases. Or groceries and then tell you they didn’t and get an attitude with you about your stuff that you bought that you don’t have! Never in my life have I had to deal with a bunch of unprofessional people! Their employees are not trained well enough to work in busy circumstances because they were freaking out and I think that’s how my groceries got out into someone else’s cart. Usually I wouldn’t complain but now my family has to suffer cause I’m not driving 30 min in a blizzard to go look for the most expensive bag that was on my receipt but not my cart!!!! They could have at least offered me to look at the campus well but they won’t let me! I believe they are scamming people ever little dollar adds up! Horrible place don’t go drive ten extra min to Sun Prairie or Waunakee same message was left with the BBB as well!!

I really hate the Pick N' Save here in town. They've overcharged me on sale items that don't reflect the sale price, they have double scanned things, or punched in the items incorrectly. And then they don't double the coupons, on double coupon days, even after I ask about it and have gotten a "yes they did"! I can't tell you how many times I've had to go back because of this issue. I've had problems with their poultry, the vegetables are always soaking wet and spoiled, and even the stuff that doesn't get wet (like a bag of onions I bought) are spoiled. It's awful! Plus, it's EXPENSIVE! And after all of this, I still have to go back so they can fix it and sometimes it's not even worth it. It's unfortunately the only stupid grocery store near me without having to drive 20 minutes. I know I should probably keep a closer eye on it before I leave, but sometimes I have to hurry and get to doing whatever I need to do next. The only redeeming thing about this place are the nice employees! Only giving 2 stars, one for the employees and another for their store at least being clean.

Honest shopper here! I have found so many mistakes on my receipt. One shopping trip with a weeks worth of groceries there were 14 mistakes! I ended up getting over $50 back! I was trying to shop on a Monday once...don't go on Mondays...there is nothing in stock! I finally asked what was going on because I was going to have to goto 2 stores to get everything I needed at that point. The stocker told me "don't shop on Monday's, it's the day the load comes in and everything is out until the truck comes and everyone stocks the items back up again" REALLY?! If someone was ordering correctly, nothing should be out. Not I do not go there unless I absolutely need something. I will drive to Sun Prairie to avoid going to the Pick n Save in Deforest. There are better prices, nicer cashiers, stocked products, and better produce.To Millard who reviewed below... get a new job! As much as you "dislike" us customers... it's the reason you have money in your pocket! Also, the way you feel about your job shows... look at the other reviews! Undoubtedly you are one of the rude people working @ Pick n Save Deforest.To Pick n Save: why would you put someone who has a handicap in the express lane? We are in a hurry, that's why we use the express lane. Way to slow down the express lane, with a cashier that goes really slow due to her handicap.

This location functions more as a small neighborhood grocery store, meaning you aren't going to find everything you might want. That being said, they do a very good job with their selection. The deli department is usually slow and understaffed, even at 5/6PM when the store is pretty active.

I always find what I need here. The shelves are always well maintained. I enjoy looking around here for the new items they add. All the employees are helpful and welcoming when you walk by them. I am always offered assistance at least 3 times in my usual trip.
