We have been going to Cudahy Vet for the past 8 years with our large breed dog, Remy, who isn't a fan of checkups. Dr. Shampo and his staff are always so patient and kind and we wouldn't trust any other team to care for our pup. They are amazing at communicating with us when we have questions or concerns, and go above and beyond in making sure Remy is getting quality care, tailored to his needs. Thank you for all you do!

I was very dissatisfied with the treatment that my dog had gotten. She was only 8 years old. I took her in because she wasn't feeling well for a few days. They ran tests on her blood work and supposedly a bladder ultrasound. Told me everything was good accept her thyroid was a little off. They may want to do more thyroid testing on her, which would cost me a lot of money. Doctor Shampo put her on antibiotic.Because she might have had a problem in her mouth which he didn't look at. I spent hundreds of dollars on her, which I would have gladly spent money on her, and got no answers. He went on vacation which I Don't blame him for, but he should have had someone who was able or competent enough to take another emergency. Instead, they made me wait until after the doctor got back from his vacation because they told me he knew about her problems and he would be better to take care of her, and she died the day before he got back. Best dog I've ever had. And I lost her way too young. All because no one seemed to care. Then on top of it I get a sympathy card and someone on there wrote. "I'm sorry that you lost him and crossed that out and put her."

This is a great veterinary clinic! The staff all care about every animal that comes in the door for appointments. They understand that pets are family and they treat them as such!! Dr. Shampo is wonderful and our dogs love him...plus the rest of the staff.

Extremely attentive care and overall a very loving and experienced practice. We have taken our dog (Francis) in for regular check ups as well as a few minor injuries. They have always been able to get him scheduled in a timely manner for elevated issues (broken nail and a pinched nerve). Dr Shampo and staff are always thorough and go the extra mile for their patients and their families. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a vet practice in the area!

((((Read reviews before bringing your beloved pet here))) The new receptionist has a snarky attitude needs to learn how to talk to people! Needs a attitude adjustment. Tried calling to make my cat appointment couple weeks ago was told because she hasn't been seen in few months she's a new client and "they aren't accepting new clients" So I asked for her medical records to be transferred to my new clinic was told it would be a $30 fee I found so bizarre. I told the girl I never heard of charging for medical records. She became really snarky when talking to me. She said "you can talk to my manager!" also told me the fee is for the doctor to "look over make sure everything is ok on my cats records " seems fishy to me. Me reading these other reviews can see why they aren't taking new animals. It's a blessing I guess $30 for shot records??? I guess they are hard up for $$$ the new clinic I go to was shocked when I told them about it. New clinic told me to save my $$ will start fresh. Still waiting for my phone call from management lol cowards. Read all reviews hold medical records hostage until you pay up! Money hungry. Never been charged for medical records!! Shame on you!!! Took my cat in for a second opinion because I always liked the vet but left because I found someone closer to my home. Anyway, I took my kitty in, and you only listened to his heart and mentioned that he did not look well. He was never taken out of his cage / bag. It was mentioned it could be heart related or a blood clot, which I did not disagree with your thoughts at all because I had been told he had a murmur prior a long time ago.I ended up taking him to a new vet recently and found out my cat had a terrible double ear infection and his ears had lots of black gunk which i assume are the mites and it was bad enough to cause him to get really sick. Anyway, he was sick because of his ears, not his heart. I was charged $223 or so bucks for a bag of salene and to listen to his heart. His ears were never checked. im so disappointed, Mr. Shampođ My kitty, by the way, has been slowly improving greatly and is doing so much better and is getting slowly back to himself. He is the strongest little fur baby I've ever seen, and he was not giving up, nor did I on him. To think he'd be sitting in a container right now is even more upsetting. To think my last vet visit at Alta View in Greenfield actually looked in his ears and said they were good and his heart was good is just jaw dropping to me and when i mentioned to her about his heart she said there was nothing about it in his paper work. I thought that was insane because another vet their had told me he had a slight murmur many years ago. How could this vet not have seen his ears were extreamly dirty and infected in both ears just blows my mind. I know if you had taken the time and looked in his ears, you would have saved me another vet visit at a new clinic and a kitty that was in a lot of pain. Maybe it's more going than just these ears, but I'm looking into all that now, but first, we need to get those ears feeling better. All I know is he was so sick he could hardly walk and was falling over like drunk and cried when you touched him and layed on the couch for weeks.I had to help him keep clean because he was so ill he could not do it. I had to coax him to eat and drink. Now he's walking normal jumping and don't cry when touched. He's talking a lot today, eating like a pig and moving around the house and is way more alert and playing a little with his siblings and cleaning himself So I know the ear drops are already working. I'm just a frustrated pet owner with everything đ˘

My wife and I never thought we would be writing this after a 7 year relationship with Cudahy Vet Clinic, all while defending them from other reviews/complaints on social media for the past few years. Their care and services have unquestionably descended over the past year. This is not limited to one bad experience, but several, including the death of our 5 month old English Bulldog puppy, Charlie, that passed away during a spay procedure while in their care.Frustration set in around June of 2021. Our St. Bernard, Sheldon, was having chronic diarrhea. For several months, we contacted Dr. Bob to try and get answers. Our concerns were constantly downplayed. Never once did they even ask us to bring him in. Over the course of several months, we were given multiple, nonsensical excuses including, âItâs probably just the heatâ, âHeâs probably drinking too much waterâ and, âHe must have gotten into something in the yardâ. Ultimately, we expressed our frustration and told them we need answers. Before they agreed to get him in for an exam, we had to rush Sheldon to the ER for excessive vomiting. Long story short, Sheldon had Pancreas issues and was severely anemic. In all the time Cudahy Vet wasted by giving us unjustifiable excuses for months, Sheldon went through several months of diarrhea, being lethargic and experienced a 25-pound weight loss.It doesnât stop there. We scheduled our 5 month old English Bulldog puppy, (Charlie) to be spayed by Dr. Bob. Charlie was a beautiful, happy and healthy puppy. We dropped Charlie off at 8am on July 8th of 2021. Less than 3 hours later, Dr. Bob called stating that Charlie passed away. Our first question was âHow, how did this happenâ. Dr. Bobs response to what happenedâŚâI donât knowâ. They proceeded to blame it on the breed itself due to her being a brachycephalic breed, which there is a higher risk of putting them under. However, this is only true when the proper precautions are not taken. In contrast to other breeds, bulldogs under anesthesia CAN NOT maintain passive respiration, so they require active compensatory hyperactivity of their upper airway respiratory muscles, meaning, they need pre and post-surgery oxygenation. If these steps are not taken, they can not breathe on their own and they will suffocate to death. To blame this untimely death on her breed, is abhorrent. Bulldogs are put under anesthesia every day. As a matter of fact, less than 1% of dogs die under anesthesia every year. It just doesnât happen. It is also strongly recommended that an anesthesiologist is on staff with Bulldogs due to the level of care that is required. There was no anesthesiologist on staff. Charlie did not receive the level of care that is required for a bulldog. These issues do not end here, and if I had more characters to work with, there are more incidents including our other St. Bernard who choked on her tracheal tube during her surgery, as well as over and under medicating all three of our dogs when they had Giardia. This past year we have experienced nothing but headaches, and heartache with Cudahy Vet.Like others, we thought they were great too. Until they werenât.Edit: It is disgusting Donna Shampo, that you arrogantly sit here and accuse us of slander. Nothing stated above is untrue. We have records, emails and text messages to corroborate everything. And yes Donna, twice, you have adamantly told us to our face, that you are an âanimal hospitalâ. After Charlies death, you made extra efforts to grandstand your practice, and your capabilities. Your clinic has no right to be performing surgeries on this breed. Youâre not equipped, and you should have been honest with us and recommended a vet that was. Thank goodness we found a vet that was able to provide Finley(our new bulldog) a chance at survival with her spaying and tail amputation. Unlike Charlie, Finley made it through perfectly.

As I read the reviews and speak to others vets in the area my concerns have been validated. The receptionist has always had an attitude, might be the vets Wife. After 12 years and massive turnover of vet techs something was wrong there. Donna told me after 12 yrs I was no longer allowed in the clinic because I talked about her to staff, I made comments about their pets, meaning the spaniels., and I was the "rude" one.Donna lied and slandered me in the office around people. I was flabbergasted by her tales. She lied. I always got along with the vet techs, the vet ect. She will run out the new batch of vet techs. Please don't go to a place that is unsympathetic to you and your animals.BTW they are the only vet that charges $30 to transfer records. I'm glad I'm never going back there and hope she gets the mental health care she needs.Again, talking to other veterinarian clinics they heard about the owner, wife, and rudeness to customers.Happy there are wonderful, kind veterinarian offices with kind people. Glad I'm gone.

I've been bringing my cat here for about four years. Other than high prices, which is one of the biggest problems at every vet clinic, I don't have much to complain about. Dr. Shampo, his techs, and office staff are very friendly, and seem to genuinely care about animals. Dr. Shampo is very patient, no matter how many questions you have for him, and no matter how silly or obvious you may think they may seem to him. They never rush appointments just to keep up the profits. The clinic is open 12 hours each weekday, which is great for people like me, who don't have a car, and whose friend only likes to get out in the late afternoon. I highly recommend this clinic; I literally trust them with my cat's life!Update 4/8/2022: One thing that was a bit frustrating about this clinic, that I love, is that there was only ONE full-fledged DVM, and they've steadily grown their practice to a VERY healthy client base, so they were booking out four to six weeks; sometimes more. If you had a truly urgent matter with your pet, they would squeeze you in, but for an additional $20 fee. It seems, though, that those days are over, as they have added another DVM to the staff, and they have a wonderful veterinary nurse on staff that really knows her stuff, if you have a question that can be called in, and she is amazingly knowledgeable and empathetic in person..My Baby (pictured) is having minor surgery (it's all MAJOR to me!) soon, and while I'm scared and nervous about her outcome, I know she is in the best possible hands at a clinic with people who care about her.I highly recommend this clinic. They also happen to be veteran-owned, if you are focused on the type of clinic to which you give your business. Take care, all creatures Great and Small!

I had the tragedy of taking my little Luna to this clinic. I did it because my daughter worked there for about three months. Therefore, we were confident that everything would work out. From this tragedy a year ago, Luna is a 2.5-pound cup of Yorkie tea. I took her to have her teeth cleaned, but to my surprise, I found her with a broken upper jaw and 11 tooth extractions.I almost died of despair. The doctor told me that the fracture was pre-existing. They not only mutilated her, but they also spoke lies. The doctor advised us to kill her but with the tender words of "put her to sleep." My daughter did not know what to do with the pain and guilt. Close people advised me to take him to court. Because the person who did the work was an assistant, and they are not legally authorized to do it. A month later, the Dr. suspended my daughter from the job. Still, I didn't do anything against him. My revenge was in the hands of Jesus of Nazareth. The next day we found a doctor who was the angel God sent us to save Luna. Today Luna is seven years old. Although she has a crooked little mouth, she is still as loving and beautiful as ever. If you love your pets, I beg you to be very careful with this Veterinarian. There, they have no responsibility and compassion, respect, and above all, the love that each animal deserves.

So far I am very pleased with this clinic. I've only brought my cat Bandit, twice, so far. He seems to like them. They've done nothing but be helpful to us. Will be bringing my other 3 cats to be seen and vaccinated in the near future. You're doing good by us, so no complaints at all here. Keep up the great work. And thanks for taking on all 4 of my cats. You'll see the other 3 soon enough.

Don't go here. Simply put, every bad review you read here is 100% accurate, and don't believe anything the staff says in response to the reviews that try to refute that. The care is decent enough, but prepared to get nickle and dimed for every little thing, from $30 per pet to have records transfered, to an $18 charge to simply have a paper prescription filled out. If you have two prescriptions, double that, and so on. I was also informed that if I need refills on prescriptions, I'd, again, have to pay an $18 charge to have them refilled. When I voiced my displeasure with these practices (quite angerly, I admit), I was simply laughed at and was told I was wasting their time. When I told them that every vet I've talked to (about 5 separate vet clinics) was surprised by these additional charges, again, I was laughed at. So, if you are thinking about taking your beloved furry family member here, please think about it long and hard because you are about to become an ATM machine.

Thank you Dr. Shampo, Peggy and staff! I could barely move when my mamma brought me in 2 days ago. You took such good care of me that the very next day I was feeling spunky, eating and drinking, and annoying my brother, Charlie. Big doggie kisses. - Bella Smith.

Dr. Shampoo and all the techs are absolutely wonderful. I swear they treat our pets as if they were their own. They're always willing to listen to your concerns, never make you feel rushed, and genuinely care about the animals' well-being. Fairly priced. 100% recommend this vet clinic.

Awesome my cat was sick and my vet couldn't see him for 5 days. I called Cudahy Veterinary Clinic and had an appointment for him in 2 hours. Was so happy. The Veterinarian was very knowledgeable and great. Hannah the vet technician was very helpful and kind. So happy I called them. Everyone was very nice.

My daughter put her trust in them when she found a lump on her 2 year chocolate lab a year ago. She was told by this vet that he had a âFloating Rib.â They denied her request the summer of 2021 of an X-ray to fully examine him. As Time passed now a year later she noticed that the lump had gotten bigger. My daughter brought her dog back. She was told the lump was cancer. She was charged for tests that were inconclusive. She payed over a thousand dollars after being told he would undergo a procedure to get a biopsy & possible removal. They did nothing once again besides sedate him & take a X-ray & send radiology. Did absolutely nothing else. We are beyond upset and angry with this clinicâs negligence. We have pursued an Oncologist specialist. My daughter contacted to get her dogs medical records & after everything this vet didnât do for her and failed her, they told her the only way to receive her dogs medical records she had to pay. Her dog may suffer life ending news due to this clinic. This clinic is not a safe place to bring your fur babies. This clinic was introduced by close friends, so had extremely high hopes and was completely let down. Protect your animals so no one else will ever have to go through something so horrible.

Been taking my pets Willy (dog) and Diana (cat) for years since moving to the area. Willy has been a repeat visitor more then Diana. And no matter what they have been helpful, supportive, and informative. Willy is a bit of a medical mystery and the staff are responsive to our needs. Picture as proof of how comfortable he is there.

We have taken our dog here for all 12 years of her life. Now all of a sudden my wife isn't authorized to bring in our dog because she's not in their system??? Then on top of that they want to charge $30 for the dogs medical records. What once was a nice place has turned into a joke. Absolutely will NOT recommend

The staff at Cudahy Veterinary Clinic were there for me and my family when our pet was sick. Any questions about medication and steps to take were answered in a timely manner, ensuring our pet was comfortable in her final days. Unfortunately, our best option was to put her down. The staff at the clinic were professional and caring throughout the entire process. I was glad to have my pet in good hands, and I would highly recommend Cudahy Veterinary Clinic if you are in need of a vet.

By brother and I had to bring a cat friend here when his health was declining. The vet gave him fluids, antibiotics, and an appetite stimulant which seemed to help for a little while, but then he started declining again. When we called the office with our concerns, they made time for us in their schedule. It was time for our pal to cross the rainbow bridge, and knowing it was a very hard thing for all of us to go through, the staff was very kind and compassionate. They took good care of him, and gave us as much time as we needed at the end. Thank you for trying to help him get better, and thank you for being so kind.

I have been taking my Coco to Dr Shampoo since she was just weeks old. I feel she is very well liked here and they take such great care of her. We never feel rushed and I feel the prices are very fair. Thank you for the great service for our fur diva baby Coco. We recommend all of our family and friends to go here.

I had the greatest experience Iâve ever had going to a veterinarian office. From the front desk all the way to Dr.Shampo. They are the most personable clinic Iâve ever been to. They answered every question with a caring response. And Hanna (I believe the vet tech) was incredible with my dads rescue pup, whom has fear issues. Dr . Shampo also was absolutely amazing with âBuddyâ as well. And I was actually able to go in the room with Buddy and they did all his bloodwork, cutting nails, etc right in the room with me . Whereas a lot of other clinics take them in a back area somewhere, which I do not like. I will be scheduling my Arias appointment from here on out at Cudahy Veterinary as well. Cudahy Veterinary will now and forever, be my fur babies new home base for vet care. And I would highly recommend them to anyone and stand by the care they give. Thank you to all the staff that made us feel like family, and not just another number.
