My dad was there today and was trying to buy a screen door and a track for the deck and instead of helping him they made fun of a 75 year old man for his lack of knowledge on screen doors. Good thing he is a mathematicl statistician and not an ace hardware employee or you would have really shamed him. 50 year old man did this what incompetent morons. Don't go here

I like this ACE. Big box stores are a lot to deal with. This is easy shopping and they have what I need. The staff is always helpful. The aisle with all the little bins of connectors, screws, nuts and bolts etc is great. I may need one fitting. Not a package of 10. We need to support these neighborhood stores. So, Go!

I came in for a electric device for my Halloween pumpkin and Michael fixed the problem. So helpful. Such great service and fixed at the store. He was so kind. Don't get that kind of service anymore. I will be back. I miss Ace Hardware. Glad you're back.

So many small local hardware stores have shut down. I'm so glad this Ace is still here. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It's so convenient to go and grab something last minute for a project. And the selection, for such a small store, is actually pretty good. I try to give them as much of my business as I can.

Met the owner while I was in the store two times ago, and he is so kind! He helped us find what we needed and talked to us for a little bit. The staff is friendly, helpful, and available if/when help is needed, and they seem to always be in a good mood. They had EVERYTHING I was looking for, from bird seed to tabletop dimmer switches and heat lamps for my reptiles. I have and will go back again.

Usually have what I need. It is close to my home and convenient. Staff is friendly and helpful, but sometimes overly helpful. Prices are fair, just a little higher than large chains. Not much lumber and no appliances. Nice to have paint available in a smaller community. Will definitely be back.

Great to have a physically local hardware shop. Close, convenient. Staff is always more than helpful and if they don't know they'll find another staff member who does.I like having a hardware store that has individual screws, bolts,nuts washers, in all shapes and sizes.

Great staff -- very helpful and courteous. When the snow blower I wanted to buy was scarce, I called the Cottage Grove Ace and found one floor model available. Bought it online and scheduled pickup between 5:30-6:00. A surprise snow flurry at 5:20 slowed me down so I called ahead to let the store know that arrival would likely be right at 6:00 or a few minutes later depending on travel time due to the snow. "No problem, we will be here to let you in!" was the cheerful response. Not only did they let me in but also did an excellent delivery to ensure all parts and owner's manuals were in my hands, and then they loaded it into the bed of my truck.Thank you Ace of Cottage Grove!

Don't trust this store if they offer to put you on a waitlist for an item.I was told that they don't take down payments on snowblowers to reserve them but that they would give me a call "mid November" when the next one arrived. When I went back late November to check they told me I was now 11th on the list and everyone who prepaid was getting theirs first.Fast forward to mid February, never got a call, and now you can order them to be delivered to the store. Terrible communication.Luckily another Ace was able to help me.

Our pellet burner went out on the coldest day of the century checked around and went to big boxes who were no help at all. Most were not willing to give me there time. Stopped here not only were they helpful but got it for me in less than 36 hours. The gentleman checked me out & ordered what I wanted when I couldn't do it on my phone . I'll defently be back & recommend them.

We went in for supplies for work, they only had one of each kind of duster so that was a bummer. They could have made more money if they had better stocked shelves. Also, the man that we asked for help only came down that isle to watch us, probably to see if we were stealing. He didn't offer help until we asked him and even then he was standoffish and didn't really seem to want to help.

Once again they came through for me. I priced a new remote for my Ford Focus. $89 vrs. The Dealers Price of $250. I will have it made. I was looking at tools for my 6 yr old grandchild. He showed me basic screw drivers and Made suggestions where I could get scraps of wood he can hammer nails and put screws in.

I ordered a lawn mower today online from Ace and they had it in stock at The cottage Grove store. I got an email that it was ready to be picked up so I went to pick it up. I got assistance in the store right away and my order was brought right out to my car and lifted into the back. All in all, pretty easy process

I prefer coming here for smaller things like nuts and bolts. Way easier to get a staff employee to help than it is at a homedepot. It's a bit of a crapshoot on whether the staff will be pro knowledge or just average diy-er.

I don't think I've reviewed a national chain before but I must say, I love Ace Hardware. Specifically the Cottage Grove location and its people, but as I recall, I've had a good experience at the dozen or so Ace's I've been to.They seem to stock all the little things homeowners are going to need in a pinch and there's always at least 2 people at the store who have a lot of experience solving problems. Well done, Ace Hardware. Well done.

Ace hardware had a good selection of common household hardware with some exceptions like reflectors. I have an ace rewards card so a recent product return was easy. They often have advertised promos that usually have some some kind of requirement that makes them less available to me.
