Excellent fish fry! Everything was delicious and perfectly fried. The whitefish is extremely fresh and perfectly breaded, I even enjoyed the dinner roll that came with. The cheese curds seemed like they were hand breaded and had a really light fluffy texture. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

We were a little too early for their "all you can eat" fish fry, so we decided to go ahead and order the fish dinner. I ordered the whitefish and my husband ordered the whitefish and trout. It was probably the most delicious fish fry we have eaten in our week and a half here. The beer was cold, onion rings were deep-fried in the tastiest batter, the coleslaw was extraordinary (and I'm not a coleslaw person), and the fish was excellent. It did not disappoint.

Halverson's restaurant, The Fisher man's Hideout, does fish; fried, fresh, smoked or even in the chowder, no matter how you eat it, it's delicious..... and oh that deep friend roll!! Customer service is pretty fantastic too as they accommodated our birthday gathering and party of 17 with a smile on their faces. Thank you Halversons for the great meal and accommodating us so we'll; I can't wait to come back again soon.

I've been thinking for a long time that Cornucopia needed a good fried fish shack and this place fits the bill although not shack!The fish dinner was delish of whitefish and salmon, tasty coleslaw and yummy bun just like fried dough!The chowder was satisfying with lots of chunks of fish!Cornucopia not only has one of the best smoked fish places around it can now add fried fish to it as well!Enjoy!

Is it still farm to table when fish is involved? This place is a recent addition- with Halvorson’s opening a restaurant that serves their fresh caught fish. The special was fish tacos; we didn’t need to look any further! Very good; hot and tasty. They have a small-ish seating area and picnic tables out front as well.

As recommended by a local, we went out of our way to detour here for lunch. SO worth the beautiful drive. I've never had a better fish sandwich. Staff were super friendly, inside was clean and updated, food was timely and fresh. We arrived early in the season, before their freezers were stocked, but I look forward to detouring here every time I come to Madeline Island to stock up.I also heard they cater, which is great to know.

Fantastic white fish dinner. The fish, harvested right here from Lake Superior, is lightly battered and fried to perfection. The hand cut fries are superb. Fish and fries come out good and hot, offset with the cool homemade coleslaw. A homemade dinner roll tops it all off. Can eat inside or out or the patio, or carry it down to the beach for lakeside dining. Fills me up completely.

When you order a fish dinner, how many places ask you what kind of fish you want? The choices here are Lake Superior whitefish or trout. Plus the satisfaction of knowing the fish was caught by the people running the restaurant. We have been coming up to cornucopia for some time now. Last year was their first year open. I love the simplicity of the place. I Would 100% recommend the Fish dinner. Comes with a fresh roll, tartar sauce, coleslaw and a bunch of homemade fries and whitefish or lake trout, whatever your fish choice may be. Highly recommend if you are in the area and need some fresh fish! A great value for the price.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch in late Oct. The best trout I've ever had! Homemade fresh cut fries fabulous. Service with a smile. Clean and friendly place with cider drinks from local orchards. Encourage everyone to stop in!

Had fried white fish and trout with the hand cut fries. Absolutely delicious and very fresh. Not heavily breaded so I could really taste the delicious fish. Tartar sauce was nice and tangy. So glad we stumbled upon it.

I was surprised how good the food was. My wife got the smoked white fish sandwich and I got the smoked white fish dip with pita chips and the fish chowder. The smoked white fish dip was amazing (I was not expecting that). The chowder was perfect, not thick and heavy, more of a broth style with chunks of white fish, potatoes and corn, with lots of flavor. The white fish sandwich was light flaky and did not have a fishy taste at all.

Happened to find out the Hideout serves fish chowder. The chowder is a delicious meal. While I was picking up my chowder to go, someone else had ordered fish with onion rings. I love onion rings. These looked awesome. A week later I am eating the onion rings with their wonderful fried fish. The onion rings are perfection. Even the cole slaw is wonderful. A great casual restaurant.

The staff was exceptionally friendly. My wife had the fish taco and enjoyed them. I had a whitefish sandwich with fries. Liked the sandwich but I prefer crispy fries and they were the thicker, "soggy" type.

Best fish we had in our 4 day trip to Bayfield area. Fish soup/chowder is nothing like what we had before, and the smoked brown sugar trout is phenomenal! Staff is very friendly! We didn’t order much initially, and it was so good and we ended up ordering 3 times. Must visit for Cornucopia or Meyers beach!

The Whitefish and Lake Trout are wonderful, the breading is light and doesn't take away from the flavor of the fish. I'll add photos later as I will be returning for more fish. Another thing that no one talks about but is very important if you need it...is the restrooms, they are very clean and handicap accessible and the TP is really nice, not waxy or see-through.

All you can eat trout and whitefish on fridays is definitely worth it. The staff was so friendly and made sure no one waited for additional fish. The rolls are fabulous but be careful you only get one. Highly recommend this place

Greasy fries, all the breading fell off the fish, dirty tables, the only good thing was the Cole slaw, not worth the money, it was all you can eat and we had a few pieces and left very very disappointed. Bot me and the wife said it was the worse all you can eat we ever had,
