This store is a real gem in the community. They came recommended from a trusted neighbor specifically for appliances, so far, I have bought a washer, dryer, and various plumbing parts from them. They really have a customer service edge that I think is missing in retail. I took advice from the manager (I don't remember his name) for fixing the plumbing under my kitchen sink and connecting my bathroom sink to a small PVC stub in the wall. His advice worked perfectly.Places like these really should be celebrated in our area and I highly recommend.If I had any constructive criticism, it would be longer hours on Sunday and selling chicken feed.

I was having problems with my wash machine. They are so knowledgeable there! I gave them the symptoms and they grabbed the part I needed right away. Definitely recommend this place for any appliance

I have lived in the area for about 6 years and this has been one of my favorite businesses. I have always found this place to be friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. That was until the Sunday before Thanksgiving when I stopped in to get a snow blower. I found one that was acceptable and was asked if I needed help loading it. I thought that this was a genuine gesture until the gentleman from the firearms department came out to help me and was very rude and critical. He basically told me that I could not get the item in my vehicle and then was throwing orders at me when we were trying to get the thrower loaded. I felt like I was a total inconvenience to him at this point. I finally figured out that if we loaded it the opposite way we could get it in the vehicle. So, I went back in and told him that I had an idea and he got a terrible scowl on his face but came out. Then I had a little trouble lifting because of some health issues... I was parked in the handicapped spot with proper identification which I am sure he was aware of. He actually told me that I was not going to be able to do this. I do not believe this is acceptable customer service. So, finally got the thing loaded and brought it home. The first heavy snowfall came and the snow thrower was used for about 20 minutes before it broke down. One shear bolt came off and then the central auger started scraping the housing and sparking and there was a flat tire. I called the hardware store and was informed that the repair guy was off that day. I was very frustrated at this point, so I took a few days to cool off. I called back to get the snow thrower picked up and repaired because I was told when I bought it that this was an option. I was then told again that the repair guy was off today and that the person who would pick up the thrower was out with covid. There was also a warranty on the snow thrower that does not seem to mean anything if the person that fixes them or picks them up is not available. I purchased this item in good faith that it would be taken care if it broke down but I guess that was just a sales tactic. I am very disappointed in this entire ordeal and am very strongly considering taking my business elsewhere.

Mike came out and worked on our fridge and freezer. Did a great job, so friendly and knowledgeable. Been very happy with his service and great job communicating along the way. Clear Lake True Value was also available for questions when I called and the people were helpful and professional. So happy to have a working fridge again! Thank you!

If they don't have what you're looking for ask one of their employees. They are friendly and willing to help you get through your problem/problems. You will not find another local Hardware Store with all the products and services they offer.

This service department is second to none.I've known these repair technicians over the years, and they are honest and trustworthy. This fall my fridge was acting up. After trying some defrosting home tricks they came out and replaced a broken part. On time, efficient and honest.Over Christmas it started acting up again. I called and they came right back, identified the part installed was most likely a bad part, replaced it free of charge and with a smile and apology. It was not THEIR fault the part was bad!I have the highest recommendation. Thank you so much for your time and expertise.

Thank you so much! Kevin stayed late to repair my broken snowmobile pull cord, basically rescuing me and allowing me to get the sled off the ice and back in the garage before dark…for $15! Thanks again, you all really came through!

I live and work in the Superior/Duluth area. Recently I purchased a Milwaukee M18 Hatchet. While trimming the branches off of several pine trees I managed to lose the oil cap. I went back to the place of purchase to order a replacement because I could not find it. I was informed that I would need to go to another store in Duluth and they would be able to help me.Disappointed by answer I made a call to Clear Lake seeing I was heading that way in a couple of days. I Upon arrival I was greeted by Jeremy (the guy with a mohawk) and he had a spare cap on hand for just this kind of accidental loss. It was in the original package from Milwaukee meaning they far enough ahead to have a spare. I drove 125 miles to get the best service.The are the greatest there!

The Sporting Goods department has been excellent!! I was interested in a Crossbow that they didn't have in stock. They ordered it right up.I worked primarily with Jamie. This guy is awesome!! I plan on buying my next gun there very soon!

I drove into Clear Lake on the 4th because the website said they were open. They were not open. They lost $100 sale plus future business as far as I'm concerned.

This is the best hardware store in class. They will help you solve your problems and prevent trouble that you have not foreseen. Very competitive pricing and, in spite of being "your grandfather's hardware store", (in the best and truest sense of the phrase) they have everything you need. If you want something from Menards or Fleet Farm then check here first, it's closer to home.

They list their store as a Service center for LG appliances but won’t travel 25 miles to repair an LG refrigerator that has been authorized by LG. Amber was very rude and just said we don’t travel to Cumberland call LG back and find someone else. I guess I won’t travel to Clear Lake to do business with them and would definitely find someplace else to purchase my next appliance.

They will go above and beyond to make sure you find what you're looking for and if they don't have it, they will order it, fix it, or point you in the direction of someplace that does have it.
