Beautiful place! Super clean bathrooms.Sites are spread apart feeling private. The Lake has a small beach and most sites have easy access to the lake, beach and boat landing. True outdoor lovers will appreciate this campground.

Love this place. Hearing the loons on the lake or the bugeling of the elk in the fall. Campsites are large with trees in between sites. Would have given 5 stars but it lacks power. The pit toilets are clean, and the host/hostess are always helpful. Pet friendly!

Great campground, fire rings, pit toilets, non electric. Elk in the area, store and restaurantsClose by. Lake access, beach and boat landing. More of a canoe/kayak type lake. Hiking seems limited to the ATV trail.

Day Lake is far and away the largest campground in this district of the forest. Most all of the 52 sites here have ample spacing and vegetation between them. Two loops have been closed as of late, so closer to 40 sites are actually open. There’s an ok swimming beach in the campground; it’s a bit shallow and weedy. There’s a much nicer beach just down the hiking trail to the south, within the day-use picnic area on the same lake. It’s just a five or ten minute walk between the two beaches. If you’re interested in history, you can find the remains of some old walk-in sites beyond the furthest back loop of this campground. There’s a nice point of land in this area of the campground where you can have a picnic and enjoy a great view of the lake. The town of Clam Lake is no more than a minute or two down the road and offers a couple bars and restaurants in addition to a gas station and convenience store with basic groceries.Day Lake costs a few dollars more per night than other campgrounds in this part of the forest, but it provides amenities like a playground and recreation field that neighboring campgrounds lack.

It's a secluded and quiet campground. With lots of wooded space between each campsite, you have privacy. The campgrounds are kept incredibly clean. The pit toilets were among the cleanest I have ever seen (and they smell like coconut!)I listened to the loons all night and got to see elk.

Been coming here for nearly 30 years. It's been my go to memorial day-Muskey season opener-family summer campout since I was a kid. Alot of memories in this place and I'm so happy to see it well taken care of

Spent the weekend of June 26th at campsite 46. Sites were very clean and well spaced. Our site even had a path that connected to a short hike out to a beautiful point that we watched the sunset from. Evenings were quiet even with all of the sites rented out. Most of the sites appeared to be in dense woods with very minimal breeze which made the mosquitos pretty bad (I will bring a screen tent next year). To escape the mosquitos during the day we drove up to Copper Falls State Natural Area and did two separate hikes. We then spent the afternoon at the Day Lake Campground Beach area which had lots of grass, tables and a beautiful sandy beach. No elk sitings but saw a baby black bear. I will definitely be back!

"Accessible" sites should be better marked. We found a couple of really nice sites thinking we could reserve for a family outing, only to go online & find out we couldn't have them. Need a couple of bigger sites for group/family camping. An app to help show the distance between each site would be great. It's hard to tell how far apart sites are when you are trying to pick 2 next to each other.
