Bad experience with the latest order. Each package of meat (30 lbs) had tears. I never had a bad experience with Northstar Bison and have been a loyal customer for quite some time. Please revise your refund policy. I contacted customer service within 24 hours with images and was told it was the shippers fault when this has never happened or been an issue before.I believe it's the way the items were packaged. With previous orders, if I ordered at least 12 of the same type of meat it'll be packaged together in its own box within the larger box -this was not the case this time. The meat was packaged loosely, which most likely attributed to the damages. Long story short no refund given - In my case this is how a loyal customer was treated.

We ordered the low histamine package with Bison and added on some Elk steaks. The meat is so tasty and very reasonably priced. The order arrived quickly and completely frozen and we are in California, so it came quite a distance. We will definitely be ordering again!

I have made around three orders with Northstar Bison and I couldn't be happier. You get exactly what they say. The cuts are the size advertised. The meat looks fresh and healthy and the taste is great. The shipping is on point! It comes when they say and the packaging is really really good.I live in Brooklyn NY and the packaging get here with everything frozen. I am a personal trainer and fitness coach and so I take my food, especially my meat/protein seriously. I don't mess around when it comes to my protein and protein sources. I highly recommend

Very happy with the Elk Round Medallions I got from these folks. Got these to work on a low histamine diet trying to solve a medical issue. Great flavor to my taste, and the consistency is just right. Not tough or gamey at all. Far better than I was hoping for, to be honest! And on the grill they performed exactly as expected. So even if I'm not a connoisseur who knows everything about the meat world... I was still really happy with these.From what I understand from others, these folks at NorthStar are also a highly ethical crew who are really doing this right, and I think that's also worthy of a mention. Thanks all, happy to have some low-histamine options to deal with this medical stuff!

I ordered a bison eighth from Northstar as I was looking for a grass fed bison provider where I could get meat in bulk. I have experience buying beef this way but this was my first time buying bison, and I'm glad i chose Northstar. The price was reasonable for grass fed bison at less than $20/lb.Buying was a simple process and the shipping was very fast. I had my order just a few days after placing it. The meat is super lean and very meaty. The flavor is great, very beefy(bisony?) and not overly gamey, so it's a good choice for younger or pickier eaters.I don't have the hard nutrition facts in front of me, but the meat looks and tastes like it's packed with protein and micronutrients. I recommend Northstar for your bison needs.

The source and ethics of our food is important to my family and I was so happy to find out about Northstar. We ordered the bison ground blend and bison chuck roast. Both arrived quickly and were packaged very well. We made a braise with the chuck roast and meatballs with the ground blend. I'm really impressed with the quality and taste. I'll be ordering again!

Wish I would have taken pictures to post here, but this company is Grade A all around and you can tell they take pride in what they do! Everything from the customer service, to the fast shipping, to the quality of their products is top tier.So far, I have had their Bison Fajita strips which are phenomenal, the delicious Bison burger patties, and both the Elk & Bison Bone Broth for even more nutrition. Northstar will definitely be a part of my routine now as I move away from store bought meats and support businesses like who provide top tier quality for their customers.100% worth it!

My Northstar order came in three days and was so completely frozen there wasn’t a single bead of moisture anywhere. The bison and elk ancestral blends were great and didn’t have too strong of an organ meat taste. Bones made some nice strong broth, as well. Highly recommend!

Our family has MCAS and histamine intolerance, which can make finding meat more difficult. We've ordered several times from Northstar Bison now and been very happy with the quality of meat and service. The boxes arrive well-packaged and still frozen. The quality of the salmon, rabbit, bison stew meat, and various roasts have been great. And best of all, low histamine!

My nutritionist recommended Northstar Bison over other providers due to the way you raise your livestock. I have not tried the stew meat or ground meat yet, but I did prepare the kidney. I'm advised to eat 35 grams per day. Usually I cook it in a stew, but I just sliced and sauteed this in olive oil. This is my lunch with the kidney at 10-11:00, some sheep liver pate, and fruits and veggies. So healthy!

I ordered Northstar bison to start replacing my beef as it is cleaner meat. My concern was gaminess. However, after ordering bison from Northstar, I can say that it was more flavorful than beef, but did not have a gamy flavor. I will definitely be ordering my bison from Northstar going forward. I highly recommend getting some for yourself

We've received 2 large orders in literally a month. We ordered every sausage & Keilbasa they sell, steaks, patties (elk, bison, beef), roasts & stew meats (lamb, bison), chicken gizards, ham & the cheese. We ordered from 5 different companies stocking up for Covid19. Out of all the companies Northstar to us was packed the best, and the product was the tastiest & by far had the most options. I'm a great chef & I've made so many delicious dishes with the meat. My husband literally shed a tear when I made my famous Choucroute Garnie with the Lamb Bratwurst, Pork Bratwurst & Bison Ring Bologna. We will continue to order forever from this company. The meat is prepared with limited ingredients and so much healthier than what you get in a grocery store. Northstar Bison for farm products and Wild Alaskan Company for fish is the way to go if you're a foodie & care about quality, what goes into the meat & processing. Total Double Thumbs Up! Great shopping and shipping experience followed by a perfectly grilled elk tomahawk. Reminded me of 25 yrs ago when had a freezer full from a hunt in Santa Fe Mountains. Once you have had elk for all your red meat it is hard to go back. Guests never knew I was cooking them a nice elk T-Bone until the end of the meal..especially the mother in-law :)Can't wait to try the ribeyes from Northstar to see how they compare to my memory of better grilling times.

The salmon is exceptional. Being on a low histamine diet I really appreciate the extra care that went into making sure this fish was handled correctly so that it could be part of my weekly diet. I am able to take the fish in its frozen state and saw off portions with my bread knife (while frozen) re-wrap the individual pieces and put it right back in the freezer in easy to grab portion sizes that I need for quick nutritious individual meals. I then bake it direct from the freezer in a 425° oven drizzled with a little ghee and covered with foil. It’s delicious. Sometimes it’s even my breakfast!The color is brilliant. The fish looks and tastes so fresh.Also, we were so impressed with how rocksolid frozen the fish arrived. The packaging was excellent. The shipping was quick, and the fish was as blast, frozen as it could possibly have been. I feel so wealthy with a freezer full of good sustainably, caught salmon!

I ordered Elk steaks and burgers. They arrived quickly and still frozen.The 1/3 lb burgers were great, no complaints.But the steaks, they were awesome! I love elk steaks and so does my wife. We were both very happy and we will be ordering more soon.I ordered a little bit just to try it. However, due to shipping costs, it appears to be more cost effective to order several items at once. I'll probably look at one of the package deals next to make it a better deal.Either way, I'll be a return customer!

I need to eat low histamine for my health. I eat the Bison and alternate with the Beef filet almost every day. The 4oz packaging allows me to keep them frozen until the day before use. They ate tender and flavorful and easy to cook. I'm looking forward to the day I can drink the bone broth again too.

Absolutely fantastic quality. Great customer service. I couldn't be more pleased with what I've eaten so far. This is a company that takes pride in it's product, a rarity in the food industry at the moment. Yes the pricing is more than your typical grocery store meat, but well worth it once you taste the difference in quality. More than happy to pay a little extra to support people that aren't cutting corners and are ensuring the absolute premium. As other reviewers have stated, they have gained another customer for life.
