Went for the first time 3/23/2024, I just don't get it. Some of the prices were good which is why I went, but not good enough to make me want to drive 20min to get there. I was especially interested in the butcher shop but quickly realized that they are selling the lowest grade of meat, with even poorer quality, but yet they sell boars head! I would go back if there were enough coupons and deals to make it worthwhile. It wasn't a bad experience, just not special enough to make me return.

When this store was bought out buy berkots it started out strong in their meat department. The customer service is great and the last time I was in there it was still great, but the quality of meat has quickly fallen. Due to this I will no longer shop with them. I will be going directly to the butcher shop. I hope they can change back to quality products in the meat department. I will keep my ears open as people talk. Very unfortunate for a store I was constantly spending hundreds of dollars with every week will no longer see those dollars unless changes are made.i Will Not Recommend This Place To Anyone

Honestly yikes. Service is terrible. Everyone there seems like they hated their life. Got 2 sandwiches from the sandwich counter. Lady seemed like she didn’t even want to be there. Watched people wait at other counters for 5+ minutes and got no help and would just walk away. A lady brought in her kid to help work, just to stock shelves. Barely any employees around. Maybe I’m just used to the old store that used to be there and everyone being friendly. This place is not what it used to be. Probably not going to go back.

It's not fair to compare this place to the old gooseberries, but you might as well go to Pick and Save or Aldi's. They don't bake anything in store, their meat counter is lacking and its starting to feel like a discount store.

A few weeks ago my grandfather went into the store and discovered there were flies in their donut display case. I went in today and figured the situation was taken care of. However it was not and there are still flies in the donut display case. When I mentioned it to the worker she simply said “oh ok” and walked away as if this isn’t a big concern. When they took over they promised things wouldn’t change and would be the same. This however has not been true in many different aspects, one being the quality.

I was very excited to learn that the deli serves boars head sandwiches to order. Once I learned this information it’s all I thought about through lunch into dinner. I had the honor of having my sandwich prepared by Hannah who was efficient, knowledgeable and incredibly kind. I will most certainly be back in the future (especially on Wednesday to get BOG sandwiches)

A lot has changed since we moved away back in August. Not much changed after they initially took over Gooseberries, actually made some improvements in pricing (which you'd expect going from a single independent to one with 15+ locations). Things were looking promising from the transition of ownership.Stopped in this week to find a meat department with more self serve cases and one employee wearing earbuds with his back to the counter, pretty much oblivious to the fact a few customers were standing there waiting for service. Several items in the flyer were not to be found, so we walked out. Will we go out of our way next time we're in the area to stop? Sadly, probably not.

I miss gooseberries. I wish they would have left everything that made the store the best. They re did the whole meat department and now its all pre Packaged. Sad to see

The sandwiches here are great...when they are made right. Went in today and orderes a shark bite. When i went to eat it i noticed it was missing the bacon, fresh mozzerella, mayo. Had 1 black olive and 1 tiny little tomato. Not to mention the very rude lady making it. So disappointing.

I shopped at Goose frequently and the floors were never this dirty. Berkot management needs to get the broom out of the closet and give the example first. That’s what made Goose the great store it was. Everyone including the owners busted their “b” giving a good example. There is also an anti theft scanner by the doors. I guess they have no trust on their guests. Also with the long bowling style shelving aisles, forget about finding specialties facing you at the end of the aisle. It is an unwelcome surprise. Don’t forget to check Indeed employees reviews of this place. If you are looking for an average store, you are better off going to Walmart, cause at least their prices are cheap.

Would have liked some boarshead American cheese at that great price of 3.99 but couldn't get anyone to slice it.then got home to find out my wife had been there earlier in the day and had the same experience we will be giving our deli business to lake geneva country meats from now on

This is the first Berkots near me. It replaced a speciality high end grocery that carried many local products. I learned long ago that each grocer tended to have a specialty either in pricing or quality that made it worthwhile not to do 100% of my shopping in any one store. I’ve been very impressed with this store so far! Prices on some everyday items are higher than many larger chains, but Berkots seems like a large enough independent family chain that they have many items across the store at a good value. The produce section looked good and fresh. The bakery on both visits was tempting. The alcohol department has a great variety including local craft brews. The meat/deli area was clean and diverse with many options across the price range, including items not normally found locally.

I actually like the store very much. More products since new ownership. Large produce and liquor areas. Very large meat department, large selection of cheeses. BOGO deli sandwiches every Wednesday.Watch for their in-store coupons, sign up for automatic discounts. Weekly speciald.

My husband and I finally checked our the store that replaced our much beloved Gooseberries. We'd heard mixed reviews so went in with not the highest expectations. We were very happily surprised to see that there is still a lovely floral shop, a huge selection of wines, great looking produce and some favorite deli items that we can't find anywhere else. Friendly, helpful staff as well.

Drove here from Greenfield. They had some great deals. Workers are friendly and helpful. It was worth the drive.

The ladies behind the sandwich bar have been extremely rude every time we've been in. Charging $2 for lettuce is insane. It wouldn't hurt if they took a shower as well.

Everything is becoming prepackaged in the meat department. You used to be able to tell them what you wanted and how much.

Such a cute store! It's a specialty store without the specialty prices. They have lots of varieties of each item, and many items that are hard to find in other places. The staff is extremely helpful and super friendly and the prices for plants are at least half of what I would pay in Illinois. The fresh sandwiches at the deli are out of this world. So yum.

I always loved going to Gooseberries, they had great meats and an awesome deli. I still buy my meats there but they don't seem to be as good. The sales they have are great and they have them often. The biggest thing that went downhill was the customer service. Although there are many friendly people that work there now, there are a few that have presented attitude and are not very friendly. This was never an issue at Gooseberries!

Very nice selection of organic products. Got some yummy handmade sausages from the meat department too. Stopped at the little deli cafe for lunch, sandwiches were delicious, and came out fast. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely be stopping in.

This used to be a better market when it was Gooseberries. Now they don't have as many prepared meals available and meat market not like a meat counter anymore. Oh well...

Came here on a Saturday morning and the entire brat section was completely picked over, with mostly empty trays. All bakery buns gone.Brats I did get were just terrible. Chunky pieces of fat ground up into all of them, and barely even stuffed. Each one grilling to about the size of my thumb. They’ve had plenty of time to work out the kinks from cutting over from Gooseberries and considering this is the new-normal, consider me done. I have no reason to ever come back here.

This used to be called Gooseberry. It had a great deli where you can get sandwiches made, hot soups and groceries. The butcher was great. Now that it is Berkot; I am not sure this change in management would affect the place for better or not. Definitely will visit again to find out.

Was sad to see Gooseberries go, but glad to still have another option in town. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised so far. They have expanded their hours back to 8PM. Some of the remodel they have done looks nice. I love that they have kept a few of Gooseberries dips, especially the Gooseberries Mustard dip. The staff in the deli was helpful. Also the donuts in the bakery are delicious and they have simmas cheesecake!!! There have for sure been some growing pains, but I for one am glad we still have something there.
