Beware, this place is horrible. Smelly cabin, dirty bed sheets, stained couch, broken sliding door, missing freezer handle, no TV channels. See pictures. Misleading information notes inside then cabin. Left asap and refund was denied ($250/night) from not so pleasant staff. They should be ashamed to rent this dump and for what they charge per njght.

Deluxe cabin #263 looked exactly how it did in the pictures, and it was a pretty private spot up against the pond and the trees. It came equipped with all the necessities: linens, cookware, eating/grilling utensils. The campground seems well maintained and is very dog and family friendly.HOWEVER, many of the other reviews are right regarding the hot water smelling like sulfur. It quite literally smells like rotten eggs, and the smell fills the entire cabin when the water is turned on. We ended up using the communal shower area attached to the main office that was a 30 second walk away. It was very clean, and the water was a bit more tolerable.I really hope this place does something about the water. For $160 a night, guests shouldn’t have to smell like they bathed in rotten eggs.

The drive in can be confusing, however once you get there it all makes sense. It is one of the nicest KOAs in the country, and believe me I've been to over 20 of them across the Pacifi NW, central and Midwest. Their sites and amenities are top notch. My wife and I enjoyed night walks around the charming permanent neighborhoods and sit by the bonfires at night. Highly recommend this KOA. Not a whole lot to do outside the park like restaurants etc, so come prepared with everything you'll need. Dog friendly park. We were in a 36ft 5th wheel in one of their deluxe sites. We stayed there in August 2022 for 2 nights.

We stayed in a premium site with a view that was Beautiful watching the trees reach their full October colors. The site with the stone patio, grill and a place for the pup to play was perfect. I would recommend going in October if you like seeing the trees change. We are KOA Members because of the staff and sites.Noteworthy details: A nice looking playground and miniature golf, swimming pool, and events for kids keep them busy.

Super clean KOA. 5 night stay staff was very friendly. Restrooms and showers very clean. The camp store closes at 5pm. That's a bit strange to me. They pick up trash at your site everyday. Nice swimming pools a kiddie water play area, and a water slide. Plenty of weekend activities. Highly recommended for families or couples.

Campground was clean and had lots of activities. Staff in the office were friendly and helpful. They have a lot of different kinds of sites which is nice. Most KOA's are right off the highway and this one is located off the beaten path. Nice and quiet! Not a lot of signage to direct us to the campground, but GPS helps with that. Perfect location for exploring Door County and Green Bay. We'll definitely be back!

We just stayed at the KOA.Before we stayed we had read a large number of really bad reviews about this KOA. I want to let you know they were very misleading. We arrived the staff was very helpful and friendly. The site was large clean and all the utilities worked and were updated. The pool and other amenities were open and being used by the kids. This campground was very family friendly. We plan to go back to the Door County KOA at least two more times this season. We drove down from Superior Wisconsin, the campground was a great jump off spot to explore door county and come back to have a camp fire at night.

(June-22-23) FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!! WILL ABSOLUTELY NEVER COME BACK!! I payed over 40$ to stay in a tent site which they clearly ASK. It said there was a raised grass pad for the tent electrical hookups on the tent pad and a cooking rack that is in a “illuminated” area of the site. Now I already thought 40$ was MUCH more than what we should pay for a tent site but I said screw it, they have a pool a nice camping area it should be okay.. check in was okay the lady was kind. Then we Went to the site… they put us on a completely gravel absolutely no grass pad for the tent. No cooking rack. The water TRICKLED out of the spout. Not to mention the water smelt like sulfur.I went back to the office to talk about the site and to see if I could get a refund for part of my stay since I was paying for amenities I was not getting and the “manager” said best he can do is 10% which came out to less than 5$😂considering I couldn’t cook any of the food I brought I now had to go eat something already prepared AND It stormed that weekend so I was sleeping ON GRAVEL while EVERYTHING including me GOT SOAKED. Absolutely WORST EXPERIENCE. Ended up taking the nice 5 hr drive home after one night. Now… when I usually go camping it’s more rustic so I bring everything to cook- to be able to sleep off the ground everything. Looking at the amenities of the site here I thought NICE I don’t have to pack all that stuff.. I WAS WRONG!! They over book and will throw you in a tent anywhere to make that quick $ if your camping around here I highly suggest a different place

Our site was extremely small. We were unable to have a campfire due the size of the site and the mud hole in our site. I am not sure why they ask for the size of your camper when booking if they are do not accommodate it. We talked to the office staff as well as the manager and they refused to accommodate us in anyway. They were extremely rude. The manager actually said he would lose money if he would accommodate us which was not true as we paid more for our site and requested to down grade so we had more room. We will not be returning.

Great family friendly place, stay options and on-site things to do. Looked like a healthy place for onetime/sometime weekenders, passers through, and those with apparent long-term spots. Honestly, it is a nice place. Super Dog Friendly. Bonus.Only 1 drawback I noticed - the water in the cabin I stayed in had a heavy sulfur smell and was awful to taste. I later noticed it extremely heavy coming from the building that housed bath/shower/laundry. Hashtag out for bottled water we fortunately brought with us for drinking, coffee, brushing, and for the dog.

This had to be the absolute worst experience we have had camping. check in was fine not a problem. but we were harassed 3 times within the first 2 hours about the smallest things. we were basically the only people there. the site we had was next to a full seasonal camper. There was non-stop construction going on with them they were absolutely rude. def read the reviews before coming here because they are absolutely true you get harassed for anything they dont like even something as simple as walking your dog, we were watched like a hawk the entire time we were there we have never felt so uncomfortable and profiled by the people there. the roads throughout the campground are not labeled nor are the obvious some sites looked like actual roads. there are no one way paths so be on the lookout because the people who own sites there fly threw the streets leaving a dirt and rocks in the air.

My husband and I and our 3 teenagers and our dog stayed at this KOA for a week and enjoyed it! We used it as a base camp to go and do quite a few of the area activities. We weren’t at the campground very much. The campground staff was very friendly. Pools were open and clean. We had cell service and internet from our spot. We were pulling our small 24 foot travel trailer. Larger rigs might have some issues with a few tight wooded turns. We didn’t have any issues at all with our small rig. Our site was very generously sized and that’s something we loved! We were there Saturday through Saturday. The weekends are very lively. The week days are quiet and calm. There are lots of seasonal campers and it’s easy to see why. We really loved the wooded feel of the side of the campground we were on. They are in the process of making several improvements. We did have some issues with the bathrooms. There are at least three bathhouses and between the three we were always able to find one that was clean enough for use. Definitely room for some improvements on the bathrooms. That’s why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5. If you are bothered by the noise of good ole fun on the weekends, kids on bicycles, or are put out by less than luxurious bathroom situations you might be disappointed. But I’m super glad we stayed. We would camp here again for sure! I should note that we have never stayed at any facility with the word resort in it. So our review is based on our state park and other KOA experiences.

For the 2nd year in a row we couldn't use the water in our rented cabin because of the strong sulfur smell. We couldn't get hot water. Our neighbors had black water in their rented cabin. Staff was condescending and made excuses. No wonder the place was mostly empty. We've been coming here for 30 years, for an event. This place has drastically gone downhill in quality and service with the new owners. The only thing that went up is the price, which nearly doubled.Staff at the bar & grill was wonderful, but we won't be back.I wouldn't have given any stars if I didn't have to.

My first time at a KOA and it was so fun! The front office was super easy to find, and the grounds are close enough to main roads that you won’t be in the boonies but you’re far enough away so that you can see the stars and there isn’t any road noise.—My friend and I stayed in one of the deluxe cabins which could probably comfortably fit 4-5 people, there is a full kitchen with pots and pans, fully stocked bathroom with towels, shampoo, soap, and even a hairdryer! We used the cabin as an affordable place to stay near Egg Harbor for a wedding but there were plenty of families and this would make for a spectacular family road trip stop!My only complaint is that our shower had triple draining (pictured) so if you have a large family that needs a lot of washing I’d be careful!I’d reccomend this KOA campground to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable stay in door county!

Don’t let the reviews fool you!We came last minute for Labor Day weekend and we’re honestly unsure based on some critical reviews. I have to say… The team at this KOA is working hard! This place was awesome! We’ve stayed at many KOA’s throughout the Country and can say that this is one of the best we’ve been to. Starting with the staff. Everyone was friendly and laid back (even though it was a crazy holiday weekend). Notably though we’re Brad and Jeff. BIG shout out to them for really helping my family have a good time. The guests here are friendly, many of the sites have big lots and there are 2 pools and a water slide. Everything was clean and well maintained. My only feedback would be the auto-selecting site computer system. I think this is just a KOA thing though. All and all, we’ve found our new weekend getaway KOA. Well done!

We were a little apprehensive due to the handful of negative reviews but our apprehension disappeared almost immediately. We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins with two boys age 10 and 11 and our chocolate lab. I don’t know who has more fun, the kids or adults. The park is extremely family and dog friendly. We had fun with the mini golf, pool of course and the boys rented the pedal go karts on the last day. We also really enjoyed the catch and release pond. The ladies working in the store were friendly and helpful. All in all we had a blast and if you are considering staying here but worried about the negative reviews, I highly suggest you give it a shot! We will be coming back again next year.

My family and I will never camp here again the pool was suppose to be open May 5th we went to the office May 20th and the office people said it was closed that they wouldn't be opening it til May 20th obviously they didn't have no idea what day it was because they never opened it, asked for a partial refund because we couldn't use the pool, that is the reason for booking here, I could have booked somewhere else and saved myself and my family tons of money. Bathrooms were disgusting they were like saunas, poor ventilation walls were dripping wet toilet paper was soaked, bugs all over in there, speed limit is 5mph but everyone that works here in the work vehicles seem to go has fast as they want.

All the staff in the general store, bar, and on site we’re super friendly and helpful. We had a perfect spot that was close to the bathrooms and showers. The bathrooms were clean even smelled good. They also have delicious pizza from the bar. I was extremely impressed with everything this campsite had to offer and I look forward to making more memories here in the future.

Been camping here for over 2 decades. Won’t be back as long as it’s KOA. Completely over-priced. Management did nothing to help us with issues we were having. Got scolded for every little thing like we were being watched. I felt we were extremely respectful; were yelled at because “someone was hooting and hollering after 11”. We were in bed with our children but they assumed it was us, maybe because we were the only ones under the age of 65 there??Was told the water slide would be on during our stay; it was not. Inquired to the manager about it and he again lied that it would be. Expressed dissatisfaction with our stay and he clearly didn’t care. He told us it would be fine if we didn’t come back. Good luck with your campground! I don’t know anyone local who will return.

Note: I do not personally know anyone associated with DC KOA.We stayed Sunday through Wednesday night, 7/31-8/4.We almost cancelled our trip here due to the poor reviews - THANK GOODNESS WE DIDN'T!We stayed in an RV spot and our son's family stayed in a cabin by the pond, and we all had an excellent time. All of the staff that we dealt with were friendly and accommodating. Both "big" pools were sparkling clean and kiddie splash area was just cleaned & revitalized. The waterslide re-opened while we were there (the part came in), and was clean as well. The cabin was rustic, but charming & clean. It had full amenities, including clean bedding in individual storage containers, a Keurig, and a few necessities to get their stay started (tp, paper towels, garbage bags, a few k-cups, etc.). They even had dog bowls & a package of dog treats waiting for the pupper! We enjoyed the mini-golf course as well.We will be back next summer! Thank you DC KOA.

Nope. Never again. Two days before we were to go for a week, we found out the kids water park was closed. This was a big part of choosing the campground as we had very little kids in our group. And yes, this campsite is a construction zone. Surprised to hear that others were asked if construction could be done on their site, as at our site they casually blew straw onto our camper and planted grass seed while we tried to use the site. No discount was offered for the pleasure of camping on the construction zone or lack of facilities closed for repair. Amenities such as bar were only open on the weekend, arcade was closed early at 8pm. Arcade was neglected with year old candy in machines, front desk wouldn't do anything about it. Our party called the vendor and solved the issue. (I think that alone agrees with most of the complaints from others of how customers are treated.) The mini golf course is a fabulous 12 hole course, not the typical 18 hole traditionally played elsewhere in the world. We also witnessed young children being yelled at by staff for the crime of signing camp songs loudly in a pavilion. What a shame as the campsite seemed very promising.

Our site is #64. We have been here for a week. I reserved and paid for a deluxe Pull thru that clearly states "on a large site with a concrete patio as well as a large deck, and is close to the playground". Well, there is no deck, just the concrete patio and the playground is over 400 yards away! In my opinion, the playground is not even close. The site is large and long and fairly level. However, we had to put our RV at one end of the site because that is where the hookups are, and we had to park our truck behind the RV leaving about 200 feet to back up each time we left our site. We were told that we could not drive on the grass, so backing up was the only option. Very strange set up here at site #64. However, pools were nice and campground quiet, no road noise.

If I could give half stars I would rate 4.5 & will explain in the last paragraph why- however I am giving 5 bc overall this is a lovely campground & we would absolutely return. Our family of 5 (we have 3 young children) stayed at this KOA over Labor Day weekend 2021. We booked one of the deluxe cabins and stayed for 4 nights. We were VERY nervous to stay here given many of the reviews, however, within a few minutes of checking in we knew that many of the reviews had to be written by people with ulterior motives. The campground is beautiful & well kept. It has 2 beautiful pools, a water slide, an adorable kiddie splash area, a nice putt putt golf area, and 2 very nice playgrounds. We only used the public bathrooms a few times and they were clean and well attended. The camp store is very nice - it has the basics that you need (milk, eggs, etc) as well as a nice snack bar that operates lunch and dinner hours and a “bar” bar where you can get adult beverages :)All weekend there were well organized activities for campers of all ages (karaoke, movie night, a fun train, ice cream social, s’mores, etc) and our family had a lot of fun taking advantage of these “extras”. We learned that the activities director had quit right before the holiday which made the activities all the more commendable give others had to step in to make them happen. We read a lot of comments about the staff being rude or unfriendly and this was not really our experience. Everyone was helpful and while some didn’t go out of their way to be SUPER friendly, everyone operated professionally. The location was perfect - nicely situated within about 15 min of Sturgeon Bay and within an hour of most every little town or village on the peninsula. We loved exploring Door County- it was our first time in the area and we were instantly charmed by all the it has to Offer. We found plenty to do with our kids (5,2,&infant) but would love to come back & have an adult weekend to take advantage of the galleries, restaurants, etc.We did not have any of the experiences shared with people disrespecting quiet hours, public spaces not being kept up, etc. There are clearly A LOT of seasonal/permanent campers but it didn’t make our experience any different than if there weren’t.The only true negative feedback was in regards to the cabin itself. The plumbing seems to drain into tanks in back of the cabin. On our first day the kitchen sink and toilet simultaneously backed up. The campground was VERY quick to reply and resolved the clog but our shower must have had the same issue. When we went to shower the last morning of our stay it was filthy on the floor- as though muddy, black water had sat and then drained. There were also small orange smears everywhere on the walls and ceiling - we weren’t sure if someone had smeared stuff off of their hands or if these were something else. Another note if you are renting a deluxe cabin with a loft note that the only person who could stand up in the loft was our 2yo & the beds were flip out foam chair like things. It was perfect for our kids but In my opinion- no adult could be comfortable up there. If you are reading the reviews & nervous - stop. Many of These reviews have got to be bogus and written bc of changes the new owners made when making it a KOA. I have no relation to the campground or anyone who works there - just a neutral party who has stayed at many KOAs and thinks this one was outstanding.

Spent 3 nights in a deluxe patio pull thru with lots of space. Office personnel were very nice and helpful with questions about things to do in the area. Nice quiet campground with lots of amenities. One of the few KOA’s that is not next to a highway or a railroad track! Only issue we had was no water pressure one morning for about 2 hours. It was a whole campground problem that was quickly fixed. We enjoyed our stay and will come back.

Do not go here. The guy in charge was an A hole and so we're some of the people in the office. Some of the amenities were not working (pool, splash pad, and water slide were GREEN) and this was not noted and no refunds were given. So only one pool worked. Some of the sites were all fresh planted grass which would have been mud if had rained and tons of fresh gravel which made a lot of dust. Fire pit rings were massive couldn't even cook pudgy pies in them. Our site was a group site which was not disclosed to us. Luckily no one else was on the other side. Could go on but I recommend DO NOT GO HERE.

Very glad I didn’t let some recent reviews stop us from coming here.We are on our last night of a four night stay and have had a very nice visit. We did splurge on a patio pull through this time and found the site to be spacious, level, nicely packed gravel pad with a stamped concrete patio. We have a brand new picnic table and four new composite Adirondack chairs and a composite rocker which is very comfortable. There is a huge cement fire pit and a brand new Weber grill. There is also a charger for an EV (which we do not have) and a pet pen.The staff has been wonderful. We had a great check in, they delivered ice right to our site. The store is clean and well stocked. We did not use the pools or splash pads as we don’t have any kids with us and travel with our dog. They were very clear with us that they were waiting for a few parts so a couple of the ammenities (pools/splash pads) were down.We did use the dog park, which was spacious and well kept. It’s big enough to play a respectable game of ball (some of the KOA dog parks are pretty tiny.)The campground is conveniently located to get to the shoreline attractions and cities, but far enough away to be VERY quiet. We got a ton of rain last night and it looks like the drainage is good. Everything today is dry.We are full-time RVers and stay at KOA’s about half the time. This is the first time we paid extra to get a site with a personal dog pen. In concept it seems like a great idea, but our little princess was not having being in a pen where she could see us, but was locked away. She just barked her fool head off and we had to put her back on leash and bring her to the patio with us. I actually didn’t see any dogs in any of the pens unless the owner had dragged a chair inside and locked themselves up as well. LOL. Nice try KOA, but I think it might be better just to just fence in the patio so everyone can sit together. Just my 2 cents.THIS KOA is one of the best we have stayed at.We are not connected in any way to the owners as some of the nasty comments mention. We just think they are doing a great job in a challenging environment. Not being able to get parts is something everyone is dealing with these days.
