Honestly, this is the BEST ice cream place in the Northwoods! Their Chicago dogs and soft pretzels are delicious, too. The ice cream is super-premium, which is the highest grade there is. There are some truly unique flavors along with some rare classics. However, what's best about Mad Dog Jake's is the SERVICE! The employees seem to really care and even ask you about your adventures. They offer free samples and do whatever it takes to make sure the customer is happy. Even when there's a long line, everything is served with a smile. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else!

Best ice cream in the northwoods. Very friendly staff. Great location in downtown Boulder Junction. Their Chicago dog was one of the best I've had outside of the Chicago land area. Highly recommended.

Ice cream is SUPER YUMMY! Owners are very nice. Been going for years, one of the things my family really looks forward to when we go camping in their neck of the woods. I would recommend the zanzibar chocolate!

Mad Dog is a wonderful place to take your family. Nice people and great food! I’m from Chicago and their Chicago hot dogs were spot on. Their cheese curds and ice cream in chocolate waffle cones are must-haves as well! Be sure to get some good exercise in later though LOL

Labor Day weekend. Great choices in a fun touristy atmosphere. Tried a couple new flavors with no disappointment. Cute little tables to enjoy your food inside and some outdoor seating as well.

Small shop \w ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers and more. Staff are really nice. The food is good and the ice cream is very good. A few benches outside to eat on but the inside dining area was closed.

I was at Mad Dog Jake's with friends not too long ago and let me tell you the service was great. The managers were very friendly and an amazing place to eat. They also have a variety of ice cream which you won't be disappointed. Better hurry up to Mad Dog Jake's for ur favorite foods and desserts. You will not be disappointed trust me. After all that delicious foods , there is also a beautiful trail to walk and explore. U can always go to Mad Dog Jake's to grab fresh food for your trail walk or an ice cold drink.

So many ice cream flavors to choose from! They've got food like hot dogs, burgers, and cheese curds too. Very nice people. Very quick even though they're busy most times. Nice outdoor seating, some shaded picnic tables.

I love this place. Ate there this summer (2020) and last summer (2019). I was a little concerned when we ate there this summer (2020). Staff were touching food with bare hands, no masks worn by staff, and no hair nets for long hair staff. I did pull a long hair out of my hot dog, which was hard on my stomach. I think if this place wants to survive the summer, they will need to up their hygiene stuff a little to make their customers feel good about eating their food.. Really want to see small businesses like this SURVIVE, but that means acknowledging what is going on in the world.

My kids say its the best cheese curds in WI. I say they are good but still not quite fair level. But they also have chicago dogs, chili dogs, ice cream ... etc etc. GREAT place for food that is NOT good for you. We'll be back.

Perfect treat to end an afternoon of Boulder Junction shopping. They have a splendid variety of ice cream flavors with an option of having it in a waffle cone that's been rim dipped in chocolate. AMAZING! The staff was patient and helpful too.

The ice cream is delightful, especially the Zanzibar. I really appreciate how seriously they take allergies-ice cream with peanuts/treenuts are kept in a seperate case, and employees will use new utensils and remove the top layer of ice cream to prevent cross contamination. The staff is fantastic and helpful.

My wife and I visit Mad Dog Jake's at least once every time we're in the area. They serve a wide selection of delicious, high quality ice cream flavors. It's a family operation and the owners are friendly.If you're in the area and in the mood for a treat, make sure to stop in!

GREAT HOT DOGS. Chicago guy and self proclaimed foodie...these are really good...BETTER THAN YOU GET IN 99 PERCENT OF THE HOTDOG JOINTS IN CHICAGO. Secret recipe celery salt and relish make it a five star review.Good job, guys. I told you I'd be back and I already have been...and will again!

Servings could be a bit larger for the price, but it's a great family owned business. Definitely worth the stop "up north" on a warm summer day. Whether you are camping or just passing through Boulder Junction, make time for Mad Dog Jake's.
