Best fish fry in the state. Hubby enjoyed broasted walleye, lightly battered and deep fried. I enjoyed perch and potato pancakes. Delicious!!!

We came for the Lake Perch and / or Bluegill fish fry from Minocqua WI area. After being seated at our table a customer at an adjoining table said to me the Bluegill was bad and not to order it. So instead, I ordered the Butterfly Shrimp with potato salad and coleslaw. We also ordered the COD fish fry and a regular salad. The meals were just ok, and we will not drive this far again for an average fish fry. The portions were smaller than I expected, and the price increased 10 to 20 percent from the spring 2023 menu.

My husband and I stopped in Sat. night around 7 p.m. and were seated immediately. I had the prime rib and he had the broasted pork chops. Both meals were excellent and our server was the best! Prime Rib cooked perfectly medium and had great taste! My husband says his pork chops were juicy and tasted awesome! We stop in off the snowmobile trails at times and are always pleased with the service at the bar, as well! Beautiful place with great food and service!

I’ve never see a restaurant with more rude employees than this bar. Our family went to the bar, 4 out of 6 people ordered drinks. The bar tender told the other two people to get their own glasses of water from a jug in the corner. The people there are horrible, it’s an awful atmosphere, bunch of local rednecks who don’t want to serve visitors to the area. As we walked out the male bar tender (with a pony tail to the middle of his back) and the women bar tender both said negative things as we left the bar. We told the manager to tell the owner that “we will never be back”. Good luck to that horrible bar!!!!

Everyone was friendly but it was a game night and they wait staff was slammed but still very pleasant. The salad and the burgers were very good but the fish sampler had 1 good fish and the other was soggy. The pizza was thin, lacked enough sauce and had mounds of cheese on it but the cheese lacked flavor and the pizza was cold (possibly due to the game night). The olives were over powering and hid most other flavors. The atmosphere was very loud due to an open high cathederal main room and the game being on all TV screens. Great place to share the game with the community. Although the decor is very nice and the building is high quality I would consider this more of a sport bar.Update: Revisited a 3rd time. This was not a game night. The place was still a bit loud but the food was very good. 5 stars.

Ordered 2 pizzas, one was supposed to be well done, it was not. One pizza was cut in squares, the other in triangles. The pizza was not good. The sauce tasted like it was from a lunchables pizza pack. Service was ok. Server was forgetful, but maybe he was new, or busy, but there was effort there. Probably wouldn't go back. Ordered a cocktail called a "Cherry Coke" he brought me a cherry coke soft drink. When I asked about it, he was unaware it was a menu item, then just brought me the mixers to stir in myself.

The food was good and the staff was friendly and fun! This, in spite of the huge crowd they had to accommodate. Recently rebuilt, with aid from locals and patrons after a devastating fire, it's bigger and better than ever.

Great atmosphere. Nice place inside. Chicken strips were terrible. Over cooked and hard to eat. Waitress was not responsive at all. When trying to pay the check,she got so snotty. Never came back to the table after food was delivered. Gentleman had to check us out. Never going back.

We went there to hang out and have a good time only to be met with an awfully disrespectful and quite rude bartender. The bartender was an absolute jerk and as soon as we felt unwelcome and started to leave, the bartender as well as another cleaning lady decided to loudly talk badly about us after we were only kind to the staff there, horrible staff, horrible manners. It would be more worth while to burn your money rather than spend it there!

My family comes up north every year, and we ALWAYS have stopped into Gooch’s. This year, when as soon as we walked in, like normal people would into a restaurant, a long-haired guy with AirPods in blurted out that we can’t sit at the bar because only customers can sit there…? We went to the dining room, and most of the tables were empty, and it was quite early in the evening. One of the servers told us they didn’t want us to have access to absolutely any of the tables because they needed to “clean”, though they were all standing around. We had to go back to the bar, where the man with long hair was evidently upset to see us back for some reason. We became uncomfortable and came to the conclusion we weren’t wanted there for some reason; as we paid and started to walk away the man and woman both working in the bar started laughing and yelling for us to hear how “weird” we were IN FRONT of us. I am still stunned because there was absolutely nothing out of the ordinary we did. No meanness, no nothing, the bar tenders were just terrible people for absolutely no reason.

I had two of my kids order chicken strips; one 10 yrs old and the other 17. They both said they were terrible. Dino-nugget quality (I tried them). The waitress was so nice and we didn’t want to complain. My kids left hungry with only some fries curbing their appetite. My grilled chicken, was smaller than the bun and only about 1/2” thick; maybe 3/8”. Poor food quality for such a beautiful venue. I’ll come back but $90 with tip for 5 of us led to a very mediocre experience. I read some other reviews and the owner doesn’t respond. He or she probably should. A sign of a good business owner if they do.

A group of friends and I stopped there Saturday 1/28/23 late afternoon for a couple of drinks and dinner. Yes they were busy. My friend was just trying to get the bartenders attention to place a drink order, when she snapped at him loudly "I"M BUSY!" He wasn't being rude or out of line, just stuck his hand up with some money in it. I heard it all the way across the bar. We left. I'm sure our group leaving isn't going to hurt the bottom line for the day, but what a lousy way to treat a customer. I've been in plenty of places that were busy and the bartender or waiter/waitress was still polite.
