The bike paths were amazing and the two electric bikes that we rented were fantastic. We wish a few of the paths were a bit better marked, specifically near the public parking and camping areas. Otherwise, the scenery and equipment were outstanding. Making a reservation was east and hassle free.

My son & I rented E Bikes to explore the Villas County Trails. The store clerk was very friendly, knowledgeable & gave us a through tutorial on the E bikes. We had a fun time with plenty of a charge left over.

We had a great time with the e-bikes from Coontail. Six of us - grandparents, parents, and grandchildren - rode from Boulder Junction to Manitowish Waters on a beautiful July morning. The e-bikes and the entire rental experience couldn’t have been better. We’ll be back to do this again.

We rented two of their "comfort bikes." Gear shifts were easy and smooth. The brakes worked great. The bikes felt light. "Comfort" sounds like you're riding something soft and heavy, but that wasn't the case. Beautiful day for a fall color ride. Rode about 20 miles. The girl working there that morning was helpful really nice. We'd definitely rent there again.

First time renting from this establishment and it was a wonderful experience. Setting up the reservations was easy, and staff was super friendly. High quality equipment and didn’t have any issues on the trails. My family had a great time and we will be back!

I love this place. I have bought a mountain bike here and just recently brought in my wife’s bike in for a major tuneup. Anna and Mark helped me out and went out of their way to get her bike running perfect. Great communicators and truly some of the kindest people I’ve ever met….they truly care. We walked into your shop for the first time during Musky Jamboree, even though we have had a cabin for a while in the area. We bought our cabin through Jim Tait real estate, formerly located in the building. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff, and beautiful remodeling of the shop. We happened to find a bike helmet that we had been looking at online, and your sale price was great! I also wanted to try some bike gloves and you had an excellent selection. We have bikes of our own, but took a brochure for when we have company come to town who want to rent an ebike. Thanks!

We rented e-bikes for 2 people in our crew, and it was a great experience. The bikes were outside and ready to go with helmets when we arrived. The staff took their time to give a thorough explanation on how the bikes worked. The bikes were new belt driven Specialized which operated nicely.

I visited both locations and loved the entire vibe! The owner Lisa has great taste in selecting non-mainstream colors/designs of my favorite outdoor lifestyle brands (Patagonia, Smart Wool, Vuori, Kut, etc). A must stop for anyone who appreciates quality clothing and great service!

I recently rented (Thursday June 1st) an e-bike at Coontail in Boulder Junction and could not have had a better experience. The reservation process was easy to do online, and when we arrived, the employee who helped us greeted us in the parking lot with our bikes. She did a fabulous orientation and was very knowledgeable about both the bikes and the trails we would be biking on. When we returned, she once again greeted us outside and helped us with our things. I went inside, and she helped me with information about purchasing a bike and a rack and, once again was very knowledgeable and friendly. I ended up purchasing a seat cover and bike bag and two other employees helped me get them on my bike and showed me how to use them. Very helpful and friendly! I will be back, it is fabulous to be able to rent these literally steps from one of the best trails in Wisconsin! Bravo Coontail and staff!

We stopped by during an area camping trip and found plenty of options, including e-bikes, along with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The area trails are gorgeous with choices between either hilly or mostly flat terrain and with towns at the end of each for a pit stop and bite to eat. We’ll definitely be back for a longer ride. I rented an e-bike for the day so I could travel 60 miles on the gorgeous Heart of Vilas County bike trail. My old legs could not do that on my mountain bike. The staff took good care setting up my family and me. The bikes ran superbly. Loads of fun!
