We did the 8 mile day trip in kayaks and had an amazing time!! We didn’t see anyone else on the water all day. There were lots of eagles, herons, cranes, egrets, and turtles. The river was low so there were even more sandbars and islands to explore, so the trip took us most of the day. For about half of the journey, we couldn’t hear any traffic or any other human sounds.Just a note that the current is pretty strong where you get off the river in Boscobel, so get to the far left side of the river early and paddle hard. We were almost swept past the landing.

Highly recommended. They'll set you up with whatever you need on the trip. Their equipment is solid and they're very professional and efficient. Their estimated times are fairly spot on. You'll be at them if you paddle a little harder.

Beautiful weather and fun trip with great friends. Relaxing day on the river, enjoyed the scenery and conversation. Launching the canoes and pick up were both quick & easy. My only suggestion would be to inform paddlers about optimal places to stop and camp. We didn’t see any sand bars that would fit our three tents after the half way point and we were getting pretty worried that we’d have to camp at the landing (heading from Boscobel to Bridgeport). Thankfully we found one within sight of the landing. Other than that, we had a phenomenal time and plan to do it again!

2 day trip from Muscoda to Boscobel. Everything was awesome, even the rain experience! When they tell you get the rain gear, you better get the rain gear)) We started rowing under scorching sun, then it turned to a thunderstorm rather quick. We parked at an island to wait it out. I lost my wedding ring. We spent the next hour trying to find it. Rain almost stopped. I kicked the sand out of despair before leaving, and there was my wedding ring right there!!! Then we spent about an hour trying to find the right island for us. Got the perfect one! Set the tent up, waited for rain to stop completely. Even the sun showed up to dry our firewood, before sunset.PS: Jill is super friendly and awesome!

Absolutely great time! The crew at WI river outings was extremely helpful. The entire experience was very easy thankfully with all info provided on the website. We did 2 days and 1 night down Gotham to Boscobel. Great time and worth the life experience. Highly recommended this place and location!

I spent many years taking my nephew and my son out on the Wisconsin River. I’m not absolutely sure, but I think my first trip might have been the first year that Scott started Wisconsin River Outings. We were with a group of guys from Ginger Creek Community Church in Aurora, IL, and Scott was our guide for the weekend. He was a bit more high strung then than he is now, understandably concerned about his brand new canoes. But, he was also a great guide and an all-around solid guy. Ginger Creek continued to book trips through WRO for many years (maybe they still do).I’ve been trying to get back out on the River for several years, and I’m hopeful that I can take my three sons out next summer. We’ll be calling WRO to book it as soon as we can agree on a date.

We have rented canoes many times through WRO and will definitely do it again in the future. Great outfit on a wonderful river for a 2 day 1 night camping journey.

Friendly and informed staff set us up for success. We especially appreciated the emails leading up to our trip with packing lists and reminders. They were super helpful. The equipment was top notch. The river was wonderful for a family trip. We had a blast!

For 5 years now, I have booked 3-day canoe trips on various segments along the river and not once have I been disappointed. I have made reservations for 2-7 canoes over the years without any issue. Reservations are easily made, the staff is relaxed and fun, and the river is absolutely gorgeous. Before you head out, they review the map and reveal landmarks along your trip that will let you know where you are and obstacles to avoid; they certainly know the river! They offer just about any gear you need to stay comfortable and dry, too! One year we booked a trip for the Spring and were absolutely NOT prepared for the weather and had to bail half-way through the trip. We called the office and asked for them to pick us up and they arrived in about an hour!! While it was our fault for not packing appropriately for the forecast, we were grateful they were SO accommodating! I will be returning this summer and for many to follow.

I paddled with WI River Outings in 2019 and it was awesome! Scott and his team were very friendly and helped my family (First Time Paddlers) get sorted.I got to experience both a canoe and a kayak. I will say if you are top heavy as I am, you should probably go with a kayak.If you are looking for some summer fun for the family. I can't say enough good things about my experience. DO IT!
