My husband and I went for a late lunch. There were only 2 other tables seated, so they were not busy. Our waitress was engaged in a personal conversation and didn't greet us for almost 10 minutes. The menu was nice and not too many options, decent prices. Our food arrived quickly and was olay. The drinks were served in metal cups which made it uncomfortable to hold and our water tasted odd from the aluminum, not a fan. A female staff member thought she knew my husband and was chatting with us, even after he told her he wasn't who she thought he was she didn't pick up on the body language that we didn't know her and just wanted to enjoy our lunch. She was just inches from his face while talking, we did just come out of a pandemic... not cool.After the awkward interaction we finished our lunch and paid the $35 bill and left.

Absolutely love everything about this place. From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded be a welcoming atmosphere of total positivity!Friendly staff and very accommodating to special requests/changes to menu items to accommodate my personal tastes (or seving size 😝).Omelets and biscuits and gravey (all home made) are second to none including your grandmother's. Lol

The staff was very friendly and inviting. The food was DELICIOUS! I definitely recommend the French Toast! Made of thick, homemade bread!The only critique would be the restroom had a scent like someone attempted to cover a cigarette smell with an air freshener.Other than the restroom, I loved everything about Old 61 Diner! We'll definitely be back and will bring family.

My wife and I have enjoyed Old 61 Diner since we found out about it in MayFor me and I my wife it’s the place, “we go” when we don’t feel like cooking.To us it’s just reliable. Their good food, cool atmosphere, and friendly service is what keeps us coming back.I’ll be honest, I suggest this place to all my friends and family, and therefore decided to leave a review.

My wife and I stopped here just to try it out. I had been following the facebook page for sometime and was excited to see what the new owner was up to.So Ill start with the "not so good"1. - hours are weird. (I use to visit the old establishment "the vale" and that place was busy 90% of the time). I also understand that its a hard nit to crack... restrict hours or consume the owners life because no one wants to work2. - my wife got a cold cup of soup, review #1 "no one wants to work"3. The floor had food bits strewn about from the previous patron- ?? - We were the only ones there @ 130 pm- pretty simple task to clean the table... and around it - again review #14. Watched an employee "joyfully" turn off the open light and promptly remove the outside open flag. Yeah... review #1.Ok ok so the good1. Portion size was worth the price (35.00 for 2) and the food was good.2. The interior theme was nice - furniture was updated - was super ramped up because of the pre-advertising I had witnessed3. Waitress was smiley and pleasantBottom line... Im not hook line and sinker convinced that I would go out of my way to go back. First impressions are EVERYTHING.

I agree with the other posts that the wait time for your order is long BUT they cook to order which is nice and it’s not prepackaged food. I love the ma & pa feel of the place and the food was delicious. I think it’s great that they don’t have a huge selection so they can provide quality options with local sourced for some of the menu items. The family ordered flapjacks, French toast, eggs, omelet, hash browns, bacon, sausage and the HUGE cinnamon roll. Everything was hot and flavorful. We look forward to many more visits so we can try each item on the menu. The staff was great.

The food is decent, the staff is friendly, but the wait varies. Sometimes we have our food right away and days like today it took about an hour. It is a small local business who does their best. I did not inquire as to the reason for the delay, but I could tell they were short staffed compared to normal and ever seat was full.

Good food and enough so you won’t leave hungry. Service was good. Prices for this Biden economy were reasonable. Had the Farm Boy, a triple decker hamburger. Wow! I would eat here again.

I'll be honest, I was a tad worried going in. What we ordered was AMAZING. I had the blt wrap and french fries and they were the BEST FRIES EVER. My husband had the Italian beef and French fires and he was also absolutely thrilled with his meal. 5 STARS FOR SURE! What a gem!

This was a stop we found on our way from camping and they where open on a Monday. Only place from Sparta to here. What a stop great food and staff was amazing Great service and the owner was super friendly and our amazing waitress. So glad we found a gem. We will return.

The bacon tasted reheated and a bit old and the pancakes had a very strong flour taste and a bit bland. Hash browns were done perfectly. Nice and crispy with a deep golden brown color. Service was very good.

Overall it's good, but the wait sometimes is long as there's usually only one cook. If you don't mind waiting it isn't bad. I did really enjoy their Friday fish and the prices are great
