We've been looking for a really good Fish Fry Friday place, and Mary's Bluegill Bar certainly didn't let us down. The Lobster Bisque was very good and full of meat. Honestly, I don't know how they make any money on it. You get a regular sized bowl for the price of a cup. We got onion rings as well. They are very large rings and well breaded, but not over- breaded like a lot of them are these days. I ordered the perch platter, which I got with French fries and coleslaw. The perch pieces were about 4 inches long and lightly breaded. Very tasty. The French fries were close to shoestring size and well done. No sogginess to them. The coleslaw was pretty good, but by far the last important or impressive part of the meal. My wife got the wallet filet, deep fried and said it was better than our other favorite dish fry place. So that's a big plus for The Bluegill Bar. She got it with fried baby red potatoes and said they were very good. We'll be going back to try other items from their menu, but be aware the servings are very generous and you'll fill up fast.There is a very spacious dining room in the back of you don't want to eat at the bar. There are also several pill tables and other bar games.

Great breaded chicken wings, and sweet potatoes fries. I would recommend trying the sweet chili sauce for both!!!! Taco Tuesday specials looked delicious and all the food came out very quickly. Jessie was very sweet behind the bar and was always checking in to see if we needed anything. 10/10 would recommend if you're in town for a visit.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is a little tight for wheel chair or walker but having someone go before you to open the door makes access smooth and easy

Nice size bar. Came here to eat was very disappointed, not much of a selection, very limited. It tasted ok, nothing special. It looked better than it tasted. Even the Margarita I ordered tasted of, not good.Now this place has pool tables, slots and arcade games. So I will try it again at one point without the food next time.

Been coming here for decades. It has always been a great bar but under Mary’s ownership it has gone to another level. It’s clean and everyone is courteous but if you don’t go here to eat…you are missing out!!! Mary has done an awesome job with the menu…the specials are delicious…fried chicken, meat loaf, fish fry…all worth the stop. This should probably be a mini destination stop for the broader area…it’s that good.

Friday menu of fried Perch, Walleye or Butterfly Shrimp platters plus a cup of Lobster Bisque soup was outstanding. We have visited this very accessible place for years. Now expanded with a large dining room.Wheelchair accessibility: No problems here. Placard Parking is South of front door, on corner.

6 of us were up camping for the weekend so thought we get a fish fry. The place was busy, we got seated and the waitress was pleasant,the food was excellent when we finally got it. After over a 2 hour wait we stopped someone that seemed to be in charge and told him we were leaving, he said he'll get our food right out and offered us free drinks, even if they were busy there's no excuse for waiting over 2 hours, we come up camping in the spring and fall and we know one place we will not be stopping at

Great Blue gill and just every meal. Service was great with how busy they were, really nice staff, and free wifi made the kids night.Parking: Parking available in the back, can go right to restaurant, or park in front and walk through the bar.Kid-friendliness: Lots of people had children of all ages eating here, really great kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible with parking on the street in front.

Love the hand-made touch!Hot beef sandwich - have you've ever wondered 'what's this comfort food' trend? If so, the answer is found on a plate of this dish. Hot beef, bread, mashed potatoes, gravy. Yum!Friday fish fry - I went for bluegill. It's hard to pass on those little guys because they are so unusual to find on the menu. Tasty little things!Some top shelf stuff behind the bar! Great service from a really friendly staff.

It has a homey feel. Nice small town bar. Staff is very friendly and the owner is just as friendly and wants her patrons to feel at home and be happy. Hopefully next time I'll have time to try some food! But it sounds good. Don't think you'll be disappointed

Nice place. Each time we’ve been, we were seated in the back dining area, so I’ve missed out on the “bar” experience so far. We’ve been there for taco night and spaghetti night, both good - huge portions. Friendly service.

Nothing but a "Good Time" atmosphere!! Always friendly people at this place... Anyone from local town people, to far and away people. All that come here, come here for a reason!! It's got Excellent food prepared by folks who know what good food tastes like, and how it should be served. The Best thing about it honestly.... Mary and her staff are so friendly and genuinely happy to see you. The food is very good and service is quick, even when its very busy. Our favorite bar in the area.There is a really nice dining area in the back if you want a quiet spot, or for families or large groups.

Knew the bar was in Birchwood, but didn't realize there was a dining hall in the back until a friend told us they had a delicious hot beef and mashed potato dinner there. Tried it ourselves on a Friday evening when they have a special menu. Mary the owner made an exception for my son-in -law and had her cook make him a Reuben as he had heard it was really good . My daughter and I enjoyed Italian Beef with Cole slaw and fries. I had the baby reds instead. It was delicious! Our waitress was attentive and Mary, the owner, was attentive to every table in the place. We will be back next summer!

Was the funniest happy hour. Bartenders are they best. Then dinner was delicious. So proud to bring out cabin visitors to M arys. All are so friendly . As seasonal customers never shunned cuz we are not the local. Fun place. NO CRABBYS.

Excellent fish fry and jumbo tiger shrimp!! Besides the Friday fish options, Reuben is best I've ever had, burgers are fresh and delicious. Owner is always working and checking in with her customers, excellent staff and service!!
