Got to town late. ( after 8:30) By the time we got looking for dinner, everyone stopped serving except pizza. Google said the chit chat was still serving appetizers, so we have it a shot. They reopened the whole menu for us (well, after 9). The burger was excellent. And the walleye sandwich was amazing. Awesome service, great atmosphere, and good people. Highly recommend.

We've been here before under the old management and it wasn't bad but this new crew seems to have it figured out. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Family dinner... Ordered cheese curds (awesome), boneless garlic-parm wings, burgers, Friday walleye fish fry... everybody loved their food. Keep it great and we will see you on our next trip here for sure.

New owners are great and cheerful. It's like being greeted by your favorite uncle when you walk in with a smile and offering you a drink. We enjoyed grabbing dinner here with lots of fellow trail riders on memorial weekend. I had the BBQ brisket and she had the Chit chat melt. Both were very good with the homemade fries. We'll be backKid-friendliness: Lots of families grabbing food here and drinks

The prices here are unbeatable and amazing. Staff are super friendly and the service is very quick and they are always on top of it all. Three stars because this place really just needs a deep cleaning, I'm surprised that it's so outdated and I'm not sure the last time this place has a real clean. Taxidermy gives it an interesting smell, I know that can be expected to a degree but I've been in other bars with the same amount and one with more and not have this smell nearly as bad.

This place is great!!! The atmosphere is awesome. The bartender is so sweet and very personable. She does it all! Makes the drinks and cooks the food in a very timely manner. She offered to give me some ibuprofen when I wasn't feeling well on the 2nd visit in the last 2 days. It rained on the 2nd day and she offered to let us leave the four wheelers there until the rain cleared up. Will definitely be back in the future. The owner said that they are selling the place as of right now. Hopefully the next owners are just as awesome as they are! Also the apple pie shots made homemade by the owner are to die for!Parking: Many places to park your car or atv

We went there yesterday (July 1) for the fish fry. We just moved into the area, and we were welcomed like we've been here our whole life. Food was good, plentiful, and a nice crowd there as well. Was very refreshing to actually hear someone say "Happy 4th" as we walked out the door...especially to this ole Navy salt! :)

Ordered the jumbo butterfly shrimp dinner and the the shrimp were the size of what you would get in a shrimp basket. Food was good and the drinks were well made. Bartender/waitress was very nice. Prices were pretty reasonable. Atmosphere was pretty laid back and relaxing. Would go there again.

Stopped here on the way home from a fish fry to the north. Owner was very friendly, courteous, and let us sample some of his fish! It was delicious! Too bad we were bellies full already, but will definitely make a run to try the fish fry here, no doubt!

Great Bloody Mary's! It was pretty busy but it didn't very long to get drinks or food. Owners are very accommodating and make you feel right at home. Highly recommend!

Haven't been there in 12 yrs,but if its the same owners they are great people. Cabins are top notch. Love the mounted leopard and leopard head mount! ( I gave them to Scott)!

One of my favorite, out of the way, places to go! Been stopping in since the kids were little and we were on the way home from the races in Rice Lake. The second generation is as great as the first, and still as comfortable!

Stopped in there during four wheeling had bloody Mary’s they were excellent. Very friendly bartender which we were informed that she married the owner so that was a big plus. Would definitely go back there.

A group of us walked into this bar for a drink and food. Upon waiting at the bar to get our drinks, the Owner walks out from behind the bar and literally pushes my driver out of the way and told him he was in her way. Then upon return of her back to the bar, she pushes the 2 ladies behind me out of her way.We could not believe how rude she was! We will never go back there! I would never recommend this place to anyone!

It' a great midpoint for an ATV ride from Long Lake. Suggest you take a break at Spider Lake Saloon along the way and then cap things off at the Chit Chat. Nice signs on trail to get you there. If your ATV has troubles, have your buddies trailer you up in the parking lot. It's all good. Yeah, pool table as well as an incredible taxidermy display. For sale, so catch this classic while you can.

The owners Scott and Jessica Hayes are very friendly. They have good food. Due to Covid-19 we haven't been able to have as much fun this year as they need to follow the rules. No Kereoke this summer! Still can play pool, and the games. Their Awesome Burgers are great! Over the 42 summers we have spent on Big Lake Chetac our family has enjoyed the after fishing hours at the the Chit-Chat.

Got there and had an okay meal afterwards we left and were involved in an ATV accident so went back to the bar to either get an ambulance or get a ride back to a car. My son ended up going back since I took an ambulance and he went to pick up the four-wheeler the owner came out yelling at him because he was loading the four-wheeler onto the trailer in the wrong spot. I called to explain to the owner the situation and apologize for him being in the wrong spot the owner had nothing good to say to me and told me he was too busy to talk to me. I guess if you're too busy to understand your customers then you don't need our businessUPDATE. I have had a conversation with the owners and the majority of this was a simple misunderstanding because of the busy holiday. The owner seemed to be great people and we will definitely be coming back. It's how you handle a problem that makes a difference in this business and I feel that they really did reach out to resolve the issue.
