I tell people that if you can stop one place in Bayfield, I would stop at Honest Dog Bookstore (Used to be What Goes Around)!I have been going to this bookstore on an annual family vacation for the past 15-20 years. It is a bookstore that is so welcoming and full of sweet genuine character. The owner is very kind and comfortable; not to mention the stores large variety of books that can keep you mind wandering for hours!They have a little restroom inside along with some other things to purchase like CDs of music and items from local artists. And also have a really great variety of music playing; which promotes a authentic bookstore atmosphere perfect for the imagination! The happiest place on Earth :)

Wonderful, local bookstore! So wonderful I went twice during the weekend we were in Bayfield! Very friendly staff and great vibe in the store. Love that it's dog friendly. The owner has a great presence on social media and does a great job of promoting this local gem!

I was struggling to find a complete collection of The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later, by Dumas, then I came across Honest Dog Books. They sent the 6 volume collection on time and in great condition considering it's 1894 publication date. If I didn't live in Pennsylvania, I would be a regular visitor. Thanks!

Love the selection and curation at Honest Dog, it was a great wayfinding and recommendation system. There is a step to get down to the main level from the street entrance but I think there’s a zero entry route through the back patio. Will visit again 🌈

Fantastic book store. The customer service was wonderful, books were a reasonable price, displays were well thought out. They have a cool patio area in the back. I wish I could have stayed longer. Also bought a cute "I Read Banned Books" shirt. Will keep coming back when I visit Bayfield and I'll be ordering all my books from them online.

What an awesome treasure- this book store is beautiful. It’s a dream come true to some. We spent roughly 45 minutes looking around but that’s no where near the amount we wanted to spend here! We will absolutely be back! Awesome staff also, the recommendations were great!

Amazing little shop full of new and used books. The staff was lovely, very friendly, and made great recommendations. I loved all the notes around the shop describing books, a great personal touch. We visited a few times over the weekend to browse and shop. A must-see and do in Bayfield!

WOW! Honest Dog Books is officially on our favorite bookstore list! Julie was a delight to chat with and it's apparent that this is a beloved location celebrating the area while being open and inclusive for all. I have been waiting to go to Honest Dog Books for years. It exceeded my expectations! I love the wide selection of regionally written and relevant books. There are tons of titles on the Great Lakes and paddling and sled dogs. There is also a large selection of Native American books. I love the handwritten recommendations on the shelf edges and that the bookmark has the store's top 10 titles of the year. It was neat to meet Julie after years of following her on Twitter! Bayfield staple. More than a cozy store, it's currated with content people actually seem interested in owning. I have dozens of books on sailing and Lake Superior for pennies on the dollar but what's more is that several are annotated by former sailors .

THE BEST BOOK STORE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!Honest Dogs has carefully and thoroughly selected collections of books. I really appreciate the collections of local authors & books. They have a good-sized collection of books from Native authors, which was heartwarming for me to see :) They also have a VERY good quality tote bag that is very stiff and super cute (shown in picture)! They will not disappoint!!

I ordered a book online, when it arrived I realized it wasn't what I thought it was (completely my mistake for not researching), I called up the store and Erin helped me exchange out the book, even though I don't live in the area; thank you so much again! To anyone needing a book, stop searching and head inside; it is a great bookstore! A great layout and a fantastic selection. A super friendly and knowledgeable staff that really helped me decide on which book to get. Not to mention the friendliest and sweetest shop dog I have ever met! I wanted to get books for my boyfriend for his birthday. I'm a huge Blair Braverman fan and an ugly dog, so when I came across Honest Dog Books online I was so excited. They far exceeded my expectations. I chose a 'surprise me' book and gave them info about him. They picked the best book.The selection of books is unusual, thrilling, and so worth the money! I was able to find magnificent new and used books about native life, history, adventures and more. Erin communicated with me quickly about questions she had about my order, and shipped so quickly that I didn't have to wait long to receive it. I will definitely be ordering again. You should too - please help support a small business with fantastic selection and impeccable customer service.

I love everything about Honest Dog Books! I love the community they’ve created, they have an amazing online store, and will order any book for you and ship it to you even if they don’t have it in store! And they have great customer service and always get back to me with any questions about my order super quick! I love that Honest Dog Books can be my “local” bookstore even though I live in a totally different part of the country

These guys are the bee's knees. Hands down. I love that they are a small main street style shop with dedicated, valued, competent staff. Great cultural books.It's not overwhelmingly huge and it's engaging not mind numbingly monotonous like as if you are walking in Sam's Club staring at a towering warehouse wall of ketchup ready to faint. Yeah, I love their store lol

This is a bookstore not to miss! I basically grew up nestled in the shelves of this shop, regularly coming up to the area to visit my family roots. When the shop changed to Honest Dog Books (from What Goes Round) two years ago I was nervous about what might be lost in the changeover. I had nothing to fear! The new owners have taken a Bayfield institution and kept all of its charm while breathing a new spirit and personality into it. The shop is full of local character, shelves that you can both easily navigate and get lost in, and staff to help you find your next read. Thanks for keeping this place alive and more than kicking!

A great book store with very reasonable prices. Plus, dog friendly and a nice little patio area to hang out and read. They also have locally made dog treats and dog collars, a wide range of LGBTQIA+ books, and various trinkets if you're looking for a gift for yourself or someone back home. Staff very friendly. A gem of a place.

I love supporting this local bookstore. First found it on my annual summer Bayfield trip. Such great selection and it was fun to browse through the collectibles/rare books. I’ve also shopped online. LOVED the sweatshirt. One of my coziest and definitely most worn! Looking forward to going back to Bayfield this summer and shopping again.
