Over a year ago, I filled out an application and had an appointment at this humane society. I wasn’t expecting to find a cat that day, but then I found Isabella. I went into the room and looked at all of the cats and to my surprise there was one that was hiding in the litter box, later we found out it was Isabella. My mom tried to call Isabella out but she didn’t listen. I gave it a try and all I said was “come here kitty” and she jumped right out of the litter box, laid on my lap, and didn’t move. I knew almost instantly that she had to be my cat and that I needed to adopt her.Fast forward and Isabella is the best cat I have ever had (as I type this, she’s laying on me and purring). I don’t know what I would do without her. I got her a little after my dog passed away and before the pandemic took over so needless to say, she has been the best comfort I have had. My boyfriend was not a huge cat person but they now have a bond and he loves her.This location is incredible and I will forever be grateful to be able to adopt Isabella. The staff are nice, accommodating, and positive. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you for being such an amazing establishment!

I just showed up this morning, and there was a sign that said by appointment only. You should probably let it be known instead of saying open at 8 am. Tried calling the number, and the only option was to leave a message. So disappointing.

I was happy with how fast they responded to the application. They communicated well with us throughout the process. They mad us feel super comfortable and not rushed. We took home our sweet little Bynx. He is now the best lap cat

Adopted BB for my son about 8 months ago. Wonderful place. Lots of animals to match anyone's personality!! BB has been the perfect companion for our other cat also. They are matched in age, so playful romping happens multiple times a day. I would recommend to come here before you purchase. You need to see all the wonderful animals they have. AND YES it is true, their adoption fee is LESS than if you paid the vet for all the procedures.

I have adopted two dogs from this shelter. One in 2020 and another in 2021. The staff clearly works hard to care the the animals they take in. Both dogs were in great health and had their shots up to date and were neutered prior to the adoption. Staff was friendly.

The Humane Society of Barron County is very well managed. The employees do a great job operating with an underfunded budget and limited hours of operation as a result. It's amazing how this facility is ran with only 16 hours a week of open operation. Imo more funding is needed to supplement the donations received to ensure the animals here are given as much care and love as possible while they await their fur-ever homes.

I have never experience a horribly managed facility. Applications went unanswered so animals did not get adopted, foster parent do NOT meet with prospective parents, there was rarely someone there and the phones were never answered. That put a real bad taste in my mouth for this location. Mismanaged for years!!!To bad they wont hire people who would do a fantastic job.

Had to rehome two cats, because of health issues at home. They were so kind and caring, felt so much better knowing they would be looked after. They made a hard experience, alittle easier.

A month ago we adopted for the first time ever. When we went in we had no intention of fostering to adopt a dog. We fell in love with Mia snd adopted her three days later!! The staff are very friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions. When the time comes to adopt again we will definitely be checking there first. I took my kids and nephew there the other day and the staff was nice enough to let them look at the cats and dogs.

Barron County Humane Society is the most caring Humane Society I have ever been too. The animals are loved so much and so cared for. If you want to save an animal and make it your fur ever animal I highly recommend coming here. We felt like family coming here. They are so welcoming and they have such a warm atmosphere, and you can feel the love the animals have.

We adopted a puppy from HSBC just days ago and never been happier! They only take appointments right now but their animals are up on their website. Fill out an application and make an appointment. I was very impressed with their adoption process. Made me very comfortable adopting from them over any other place. If you are looking for a new furry family member, do yourself a favor and check out HSBC!

I did not enjoy my experience there. I had to give up my kitty, my best friend there a couple of months ago because our landlords brother is allergic and decided she didn’t want him there. I recently found out he was still at the humane society because I check up on him periodically. We are getting ready to move into a new place that allows cats and I was ecstatic my best friend was still there. They told me I could come and fill out and application but he hadn’t interest. I drove there after college in a snow storm to see him only to be told they weren’t going to accept my application. I was in tears as I held and comforted my kitty that I missed so much. When I turned to leave I could hear the two ladies at the front desk snickering. What an unprofessional and unpleasant experience. I hope you never have to lose your best friend because it breaks your heart.

Adopted Copper a very friendly house broken Beagle. Staff is excellent and answered my concerns properly. I'd recommend Barron Humane Society to anyone.

We adopted my cat from the menomonie human society. Unfortunately after 10 years he passed away. I was devastated and missed him. My fiancé agree that the house was empty with out a cat. We decided just to go to look. Lol well we fell in love with a little kitten named Finn. The girl was so nice and told us to fill put adoption papers. We were able to go in and spend time with finn and she viewed our application. We were told we could take him home! I was trying to hold back tears. Because this was truly ment to be! The staff was so nice and so friendly. Finn came home with us and is adjusting so well. He absolutely loves his new home. We have renamed him snickers. His cat grandma even brought him a bunch of new toys! We are very happy to have him as a addition to our family.

I haven't ever been to this Humane Society but from what I've heard it's a very good one. That day I was there I was just dropping off some donations.

My son got a dog saturday from them . was told it was good dog with kids and other dogs . it bit my dog and wouldn't let go. This is the 4th dog i know from there that has problems with other dogs and Behavioral problems from there . they do not I REPEAT THEY do not check for problems or make sure that they don't have any. My dogs face has two holes in her lip and under her chin. This dog should be put down. I will be watching for it to be sold again. You are being watched

I love Barron Humane Society they have very clean cages yes some of the dogs have their issues but what furry animal doesn't sometime during their life.
