Good place to stay if you need something in the area. It is a bit pricey if you don't plan on utilizing any of the extra amenities such as the waterpark. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The serve yourself breakfast offering was cold cereal, waffles(make your own) sausage, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and a few various beverages.

Great place for my kids to enjoy, 8 and 5 but also allowed me to relax without having to chase them everywhere! My only wish would be a small playground/climbing area or something to do for kids later on/if they didn't want to swim any longer. We tried out the game room, but it could definitely use an upgrade and not someplace I'd like to spend a long time at as that always means more $. Overall, great experience and will definitely be back!

We bring a large group for a golf trip every year to Deer Valley and they are absolutely fantastic. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, the rooms are great and not only is the stay & play package a great deal but it’s one of my favorite, unique golf courses and we love coming back every year! Couldn’t recommend this hotel & course enough.Rooms: The rooms are great we usually stay in the double queen rooms and plenty of space and beds are comfortable.Nearby activities: Golf course connected to it is very unique, one of my favorites.Safety: Great area and is very quiet and the staff is extremely friendly.

Our room was pretty spacious. The pull-out couch has seen better days, but it helped that they had a 2-inch foam mattress on it. The staff were super great - friendly, helpful. Our Grandson loved the water park. The only downside is that they allow day passes and when we there on Saturday it was WAY overcrowded. It was like a free-for-all.....So fair warning for other "Introverts" like my husband and I. Sunday night/Monday morning were great - hardly anyone in the pool area.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend this is NOT the place to be. Monday through Wednesday was more peaceful. The water park was full of kids, which is perfect HOWEVER, the hotel staff and parents allowed the kids that were NOT guests at the hotel, to run up and down the stairs and halls!!I called the front desk and she said “Well technically it’s not quiet hours”! There is a common decency to not interrupt the guests that are trying to relax. Technically those kids and parents aren’t paying $160 a night!!!!!!!The sheets are paper thin and you can see through them. The flooring is thin and the carpet has no padding to absorb noise. It’s really outdated and could use some love. The staff…..not one staff member welcomed us in. There were four staff members behind the desk folding towels and they looked up then looked back down never acknowledging us as guests. No one spoke until we said something first.Mind you we stayed 5 nights at $160 a night I wish we would have VRBO but we didn’t.Will never stay here as the owner is oblivious or knows and is ok with how this hotel is ran.Save your money and the frustration of all the noise this “lodge” offers.

Overall, eh. Place could use an update. The rooms were dated. Lacked outlets and the TV stations didn't have anything for kids. It was very basicThe waterpark was okay. Warm water. Different areas for age levels. But the stairs and slides were janky. The place was packed and it was truly a free for all. I was shocked at the amount of parents outside the pool with no lifeguard on duty. The staff was very nice and friendly. As was the slide attendant.

For the price, this place was great. The pool and slides were perfect for our 4-7 year olds, water was warm and well maintained. It's not a huge water park resort, but the cost is 1/3rd of those places, so it works great for our kids age range. The staff were all very pleasant. The place was very clean, safe and quiet. We will be staying there again as we have relatives in Madison. This place is a hidden gem for a budget friendly vacation.

We have been going to Deer Valley Lodge since 2013, and have brought many family members there as well. We Love Deer Valley Lodge, the staff is always super friendly, concessions is fairly priced! We have never stayed over night because we live close enough to drive back home, but we are definitely planning a weekend away to get some swimming and golf in!

The staff were extremely rude and dismissive. Lots of eye rolling and huffing/puffing when asked for information. Very unhelpful and seemed like they couldn’t be bothered to assist. The hot tub had so many chemicals in it that it burned your eyes to tears just to be near it. The life guards on duty were in full clothing with converse tennis shoes as well. One was even on their phone with headphones on and not watching the pool. No cameras in pool area- so if something happens, good luck. Vacationer beware. 10/10 don’t recommend. I’d rather spend $450 a night to be in the dells with friendly staff who don’t resort to “sassy remarks”.Side note- we asked for the owners name and contact info to make a complaint and the staff refused to give us even a name. One female staff member was the absolute worst and more than rude the entire visit. It seemed like she made it her purpose to ruin our day. I’ve never seen an adult act so much like a toddler.. she even lied to us about who the manager was, trying to pass off a normal staff person as the manager. Thanks to google and some well connected friends, we were able to get the owners name.. but I don’t have high hopes of anything being done after reading other reviews.NEVER coming back. Which is too bad.. we were going to bring our kids back every year for birthdays and spring break, but the Kalahari sounds much better anyway. Don’t waste your time or money on this place. You’re NOT missing out.*** a few hours after making my original review I’ve noticed my kids breaking out in rashes from the hot tub. They don’t have overly sensitive skin either.Rooms: When it was brought to my attention that we couldn’t have food with us unless we had a room, I offered to buy the nicest room we could get for the night… the nasty desk lady refused to let me buy a room!!!! She said she didn’t want to do that for me… like WHAT?! I don’t know what kind of people this hotel looks for to staff the desk, but they clearly need to do better. I was completely aghast at her response..Nearby activities: Dodgeville had a great hotel - Best WesternMineral point also has one- not sure of the name.Safety: ZERO cameras in the water park and the lifeguards are fully clothed with lace up shoes on. Not someone who looked like they could save a child (if they even noticed one needing help). They were on their phones and had headphones on!Walkability: Very slick surfaces in the lobby with no caution sign. It was wet when we showed up at 1pm and still not cleaned up when we left at 5pm.Food & drinks: Staff were folding sheets and towels on the tables where people eat… NEXT to people who were eating. Ew.Noteworthy details: Very rude staff. They would talk over you and not let you speak or explain what you need. Lots of sassy remarks and one even lied about remembering us from a previous stay…. But we’ve never stayed before…. Or had issues when there for a few hours to be in the pool.

The waterpark was nice and maintained at a good temperature. Our room was good but no microwave, which I found odd these days. We also had no soap and very few towels in our room and had to go ask. There was a microwave available down by the breakfast area though. Despite quiet hours, there were kids running up and down halls until midnight. The food was pretty awful. The continental breakfast may be the worst I have had. They did hard boiled eggs, and they were so green and dry in the middle. The milk for cereal had just a lunch ice pack floating in it. Even just bread for toast was stale. The food at their little bar/grill thing was not great either. The fried food was good, but we got cheeseburgers and watched them cook them in the microwave. I tried to remain optimistic, but they were pretty bad. The hotel is more remote than I thought and so to get to anything decent food wise, you are looking at about a 20 minute drive. Overall, enjoyed the waterpark and the room was fairly clean, but not likely to go back.

This place is amazing!! Took my grandkids last night and they loved it. The staff were great and the food amazing. Sadly, things got ugly because of a large family group supposedly “celebrating” a child’s birthday. That poor child!! These guests were belligerent, rude, pushy and moved tables around without a second thought to others. They went so far as to bully other guests, yell and name call. The staff handled the situation so very well and were apologetic for something out of their control. I personally would have called the police. This group was absolutely ridiculous and should be embarrassed….but….. the staff handled it so well and professionally!!We will be back for sure!!Safety: Staff is very safety conscious and alert.Walkability: Easy access to everythingFood & drinks: Fantastic pizza!!

We arrived at about 930pm. Waited 5-10min for anyone to even arrive to man the desk for check in. No problem, lots of reasons might have needed to step away, but when she did arrive she was neither friendly nor even courteous. So, greetings with a scowl and a glare was step one.I had stayed here once many years ago. My impression was not changed. I do not believe I have ever stayed in a hotel that has poorer construction. You can hear ever footstep, the floors creak above and around you. Despite knowing how old this building is, it seems decades older. It was very clean. Just not comfortable. In the king jacuzzi suite I ended up on the side of the bed with no nightable so had to put my things on the floor. This was a SUITE.Complimentary Breakfast was simply way too many people at way too high a volume. No place to sit as it was packed so we perched in the great room area and then just decided to go.It was not a great experience.HOWEVER- if you are travelling with kids, or coming for the water park? Or having a big holiday stay over gathering with friends or family? You will have a great time! Kids everywhere, all wonderful and having a great time! This is where to go with the kids! But if you are looking for a classy high end feeling jacuzzi suite for peace quiet and rest followed by a peaceful breakfast? At exactly the same price? Hilton Grandstay in Mount Horeb is where you want to be.

My daughter and I stayed here for a suprise winter evening for the first time and she loved the waterpark. Perfect for smaller children and a welcomed change of pace compared to the Dells. The waterpark was clean and the slides were a blast. Our room was also clean and every staff member we encountered was polite and curtious. After reading some of the negative Google reviews, I was a little apprehensive to spend the evening here but our stay was great. Deer Valley Lodge is not a Ritz-Carlton but for anyone looking for a family friendly environment with a small waterpark you will not be dissapointed. Plus, the price was 1/3 of any place in the Dells. We will be back!Rooms: Our room was clean and had all the necessities. For the price, I can't complain.Safety: For everyone giving negative reviews about the life guards and the pool attendants, perhaps they should read all the signage referencing "swim at your own risk" and "no life guards on duty." The attendants we saw attending the pool were polite enough for us.Food & drinks: We purchased dinner at the small pub/bar inside the hotel and brought it up to our room. My daughter enjoyed her hamburger and smoothie very much.

My daughter went for a pool party for my granddaughters 7th bday. The chlorine levels are horrible. The kids have to go to the lobby to catch a breath. They had a friend who also had a reaction and seen a family leave cause their son was having a similar issue. I think this needs to be addressed. Not sure my daughter will go back.

Definitely will be returning with my family. Kids had a blast at the water park. The addition of life jackets that are available is also a bonus (we forgot our puddle jumper at home)Rooms: Rooms are spacious and clean.

Great place for the price! Would definitely go back and definitely recommend! Waterpark was big enough for the kids to enjoy and small enough to see what was going on in the whole waterpark area! Staff was friendly and helpful!Food & drinks: Homemade pizza served all day, and plenty of deep fried snacks for everyone! Beverages of all kinds for the whole family!

The staff were absolutely wonderful, but there was an older woman who was rude. Acting like helping us was a major inconvenience! We ordered a roll away bed, and it took almost an hour to have it brought to our room. The room had 1 wash wash cloth and 2 towels for a room that had 5 people. The refrigerator smelled like mold, and water was leaking from the little freezer. The air conditioning/heater unit made sounds like an animal was inside it. The breakfast was terrible!! They kept milk cold with frozen ice packs, and coffee was OK till it never got refilled. They only have half and half,no flavored creamers. If it was cheaper, I may think about staying there again, but it is unlikely. The hot tub was dirty and not hot.

On the "Pro" side, it was very clean and the staff was super nice. It has a nice indoor pool area for the kiddos. Elevator. Spacious parking lot.On the "Con" side. VERY dated. Rooms were fine but the hotel itself was uncomfortably hot. Breakfast was bare bones and unsatisfactory. Absolutely ZERO flexibility on late checkout. OK as a last resort for business, but I wouldn't take my family there.

Room was Meh… the two larger slide are only open on Friday and Saturday if they have a life guard. Breakfast was pitiful. A bag mini powdered donuts, stale cereal, boiled eggs, no fresh fruit at all. While I was in the lobby I talk to a gentlemen, he had more than a week ago booked a handicap room for he and his wife in need. Once he got to the lodge he was told there was room for he and his wife except a regular room. Do better.. ADA means those people come first!

Check-in was the usual here's your room key and how to get there. The room was small with no additional seating other than the beds. The beds were uncomfortable, and the bedding was in need of being replaced. The shower head in the bathroom was so limed over that we had to clean it to get it to work correctly. Towels work great for exfoliating, but a water softener and some fabric softener wouldn't hurt. The breakfast consisted of waffles, sausage links, yogurt, oatmeal, 2 kinds of cereal, bread, mini powdered sugared donuts, and bananas. It wasn't terrible as everything seemed to be fresh. The coffee pot in our room took about 45 minutes to brew and the lid on the carafe was broken. There was a refrigerator but no microwave in our room. The pool area was large, and our son had a lot of fun on the tube slides. There was access to a bar where you could get drinks and snacks which was nice. The staff there was very pleasant. The hotel allows admission to the pool without being an overnight guest. We were unable to access the pool for most of our stay due to all the extra people there just for the day. They would leave their things on tables and chairs for the whole day. It seemed unfair to the guests of the hotel. I understand letting people in for the day but when the hotel is at maximum occupancy for guests, then maybe consider closing the pool to the public. The hotel also lost power for about 2 to 3 hours during our stay. A majority of the emergency lighting did not work at all, which made me wonder if the smoke alarms didn't work as well, and people were using cell phones to navigate the hotel. I had my fingers crossed that no one was in the elevator. Some of the guests left. Maybe we have higher expectations, but I will say that we will never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Totally serviceable. Would stay again if there weren't other options. Everything worked as it should, room was clean and I like that they are more ecological with their hygiene items. For example, the push to dispense soap in the shower, is a great concept. But, I have allergies, and if I can't read the ingredients, I can't use it. Would have been nice to have a sticker showing the ingredients on the dispenser. The bed was okay. I've got a bad back and it was really hard, but not unusual for a hotel bed. There were so many antlers! Just everywhere. And the camouflage blankets. Who do you need to hide from in bed?! It's got less of a cozy cabin feel, and more of a Bambi's nightmare feel to it.They provided more of a breakfast than I had been expecting, and they might have been better off with less. The waffles were sour. I don't know how you get them to taste that bad. The bread had started to get stale. The yogurt had only one option and it was strawberry banana. There were two cereal options raisin bran and fruit whirls. We didn't try either of them. And two juices, orange and apple. The orange tasted like Tang. I wasn't brave enough to try the apple juice after the orange. I didn't try the sausage, but I was told it wasn't good. I did eat the powdered sugar donuts. They were the typical, bag from a grocery store mini donut, which was good. The service was good, nothing to complain about. Staff was friendly and attentive. They had a nicely stocked little convenience shop.

Great building location near the highway, big parking lot. Great customer service upon check in. The rooms were homey and clean, but the beds could have been more comfortable. No work out room. Game room and water park were open and operational. I really liked their light switch energy saving technology. Although breakfast was included in the stay, it had minimal options. I would stay here again because I liked the outdoorsy vibe!

The check in and check out process were effortless it was. We did have a situation where the air conditioner made a loud boom and then went out and started rattling extremely loud at 1 o'clock in the morning. But the manager did take care of it for us and we would definitely go back. The water park was fun the only thing I wish was better was if the hot tub was adult only. It's tough sitting in the hot tub when you have younger kids jumping in and splashing around
