The staff of The Dog House had taken excellent care of my dogs, from puppy age to my senior dog. We do day care and occasional kenneling for vacations and trips, and the dogs have always been excited to go back! It’s been 3.5 years and we’ve only been happy!

Our pup (8mo old) Lucy had her very first boarding experience here while we were in town to go to a water park resort. We were nervous on the whole boarding thing but we absolutely loved this place! They answered my several questions about everything before we got up there. When we got there we noticed it was very clean and the dogs we saw at group play time were all having a blast and were supervised well. In addition to the vaccines records, they require a fecal within the past 6 months. Our pup had consumed rabbit pellets “treats” in the yard and had a non canine parasite (not harmful to dogs and just passes through them but was noted on her fecal results) so she wasn’t able to go to the regular play groups. Initially we were disappointed by this but also really respect and appreciate that they take the health of the pets in their care seriously. Since she wasn’t able to play with the other boarded dogs, they gave her lots of extra attention and the manager brought her young dog over to play with Lucy which we so appreciated. When we picked her up we got a full report on her meal and potty habits while there. We were impressed with the level of detail they had on her and we could tell they are very attentive to each of the pets in their care. We recommend this place for your boarding needs and will use them on future visits to the Dells! (Pic of her all napping on our drive after we picked her up!)

I would have saved a lot of headaches and stress if I had sought out care from other local dog boarding places sooner. They were much easier to work with and better communication than that I experienced with the dog house.

The Dog House is the perfect mix of amazing prices, staff, and environment for my dogs.I have boarded my 2 dogs here many times, and they always come home like they got to play with their friends at summer camp. They’re so happy and exhausted!The staff here is so nice and they all genuinely seem excited to see your dogs. I have always had a positive experience here while booking and picking up/dropping off.I have tried another local boarding facility, and The Dog House is better in every way. The prices are lower here, the customer service is better, and my dogs are so much happier when they come here!I highly recommend The Dog House!

Our pup was happy when we picked him up. His nails looked good and they gave him a bath. We received all his items back without having to ask. We will definitely take our boy here again if we are back in the area.

Used to love this place. Ive been taking my dog here for the past year 1/2, 2 years, and they did a great job. The past couple times however, the haircuts were disappointing. First time they cut his whiskers, cut of one of his eyebrows, clearly by mistake since the other one wasn't cut, and left his face very uneven. A couple days days ago I picked him up, and noticed at home the top of his head completely botched! The groomer didn't even have the curtesy to come out and apologize for the mistakes or at least make some sort of excuse for the haircut, which isn't cheap.I used to manage a daycare/grooming/animal hospital in Chicago, so i know the standard these groomers and facilities should have.The lack of professionalism is very disappointing. They never give reminder calls to confirm or not the appointment, they never even call to let the owner know the dog has been ready.Not sure how they treat dogs in the grooming area, but for a Pomeranian that is used to daycare, boarding and grooming for the past 6 years, he is terrified of this place.

Our pup goes for doggy daycare and comes home exhausted!! They have been so respectful with our pups timidness. Each time she goes, they let her work up her own encouragement to move into playing with the bigger dogs (she's a great Pyrenees). Eventually she will associate The Dog House as a place of fun. The staff is wonderful!

We recently used the Dog House to board our two pups while we were away on vacation. Reasonably priced, clean atmosphere and friendly staff. We loved how daycare was included in the price. Our pups had so much fun that they didn’t want to come home; We’ve never experienced that with other boarding facilities! They got our little guy to socialize with other dogs which is amazing. My only wish is that they would take the collars off the dogs. It makes me nervous when they play with them on and our one dog got his off and it was eaten. Other than that, great experience!!!

I really want to like this place. After I gave constructive feedback they asked me to pay full price and told me they'd never take my pet again after just one visit to get a haircut that was not done correctly. The manager is very young and could use experience in customer service.

By far the best doggy daycare we have experienced. Hours of operation accommodate employees work times by staying open until 6:00pm. Clean, ran professionally and super accommodating staff. From what I can observe they truly care about your forever pet!!Recently boarded my pup overnight and was pleased that the owner checked in on him personally! Having your puppy in air conditioning when the weather is sweltering outside is great. Thank you!

Based upon testimonials and family recommendations, we chose to house our dogs over the Memorial Day weekend with the dog house pet resort. We definitely went in thinking everything would be fine and essentially we would get our dogs back the same as we dropped them off. Well that hasn’t been the case. Since picking them up, our male fruggle came down with hook worm and basically hasn’t been the same. He was potty trained going in and now leaving has basically been set back to beginner puppy days. Add further frustration, we had provided clear guidance on food and provided specifics, which was something required going in. Not only did none of our food get used, but there obvious feeding patterns changed since having them back. Our beagle has basically not eaten on a normal schedule and been rather temperamental, which is not normal. All in all, what we had believed to be a good situation going in, has turned out to be rather disappointing. I would seriously question any good reviews for the dog house pet resort and truly look to find an alternate choice. I know they will not be receiving any further business from us and hope this review helps others avoid the same discomfort we’ve experienced through the process.

We’ve had only great experiences! We have a one year old German Shepherd who attends daycare occasionally, and was recently boarded for a week at the Dog House Pet Resort. She was nervous her first few times that we dropped her off at daycare, but the staff did an amazing job going at her pace, and introducing her to the group slowly ... Now she whines and cries out of excitement as soon as we pull into the driveway! During her week stay, she was well taken care of, and came home exhausted and happy. We received several updates throughout the week to keep us at ease. The staff is great, Their prices are very reasonable, and I’ll recommend them to anyone that asks!

Been taking dogs there for years... Knowledgeable & attentive staff.. Other family members do too. We bring them for all day daycare with bath & haircuts only 4-5 times a year but they still remember us & our preferences. I like that dogs for grooming are not locked up before/after/ between their grooming times.

I sent this email to get the manager drew to call me around yell at me. Below is the email.I just want you guys to be aware that Bella came back with Kennel cough AGAIN after she visited this weekend. I understand how contagious it can be and now all my dogs have it. Never have I had this happened so frequently at a boarding facility (and I use to work at a animal hospital/boarding place). You guys really need to amp up how things are being cleaned. You also need to be checking when a dog is overdue for vaccines and stool samples because my sisters dog is overdue and never had a comment made. Upon pick up I saw a worker spraying the dog perfume that’s in a can (I know it’s that because again use to use it) throughout the whole place and that’s not a way to get rid of bacteria nor is it safe for the animals to breath in all the time. Also since bringing up complaints Noah’s toenail his Dewclaw that I specifically asked the groomer to cut because it was so long got infected because It was not cut like asked I didn’t even think to check because I trusted the groomer. We have probably had to spend close to $500+ on vet bills and have spent close area to 2k in boarding and grooming exc. Luckily one of my dogs has not died but I don’t want this to continue for the future of the other dogs at your business. Please look into this matter with your staff. We appreciate what you do and I know it’s a super stressful job and hard but something gotta get done. On that note please remove our account because we can’t afford our animals getting sick anymore with all these vet bills.

Our experience here was great from start to finish. I was able to communicate completely by email to arrange accommodations for our 110 lb mastiff, which was really convenient when you have a spotty schedule to discuss things by phone. When we arrived to drop off our dog for the night, a young man kindly showed us where he would be staying, which was comforting since we had never boarded our dog before.The two staff members we encountered here seemed very comfortable with all the dogs. Drop off, pick up, payment, everything was easy and went smoothly. I will definitely use this service again when visiting the Dells area.

My fiancé and I brought our 2 large dogs for one day of daycare while on vacation and everything was fantastic. I have never seen our dogs happier than when we picked them up. Price was fantastic as well. Highly recommend!

I really like this place. When my Golden was allowed there he came home extremely exhausted. As for no longer being allowed there...he was labeled "aggressive" for reasons I completely understand. I respect the womans (sorry cannot remember her name) opinion that until after he is neutered he won't be allowed to return. I'm sure they dont enjoy turning away any customers but they had to make a decision that is best for all the dogs. Again, I can respect that!I hope he mellows after surgery and can return.

We left our dog here for a night and he received excellent care. He was a little overwhelmed by the noise the other dogs made at times, so the employees made it a point to give him some extra love and attention to make him more comfortable. We will be returning for sure.

Our girls have stayed out at The Dog House a couple different times while we’ve been out of town and it’s always hard to get them to leave! They want to stay with their new friends and play a bit longer. They’re always exhausted when they do come home, which to me means they are getting plenty of exercise. The change of scenery is good for them and the interaction is great for them so we’re going to start day care for them periodically!Thanks Phil and staff!

Took my dog in for an overnight stay and bath. I specifically discussed with the staff what time I would pick her up the next day. I asked for a bath and clipping of some mats behind her ears. I asked that she NOT be in play group because I’ve seen literally dozens of dogs in one large room and didn’t feel it was safe.I arrived on time to pick her up the next day and she was in amongst a hoard of other dogs and FRANTIC to get out of there; literally pawing at the glass doors. She was very damp and hadn’t been combed out very well. She was covered in drool; something she never does.I got her home and noticed the ear mats hadn’t been touched. I called and the owner apologized saying he hadn’t had time to finish her because “I came early.” I told him I came at the exact time I told his staff. He told me I could bring her back in a day and he would finish her grooming. I agreed.A short time after that call I noticed she was acting uncomfortable and I found a large “wound” area in the fur under her jaw! It appeared to be a burn from a grooming noose and now had turned into a hot spot as well from her being wet so long!I called him back and expressed my extreme disappointment and told him I would not be bringing her back there. He was polite but TOTALLY indifferent.I thought $60 was unreasonable for a grooming but gladly paid it, and tipped, because she is large. Now having an injured and traumatized dog to deal with makes my heart break.NOT WORTH MY DOG’S WELFARE AT ANY PRICE!We gave this place a try because it was very close to home. Will gladly go back to Pet Retreat in the Dells even though it is a long drive - they have NEVER given us any reason for concern there (in fact just the opposite) and she jumps out of the car to get inside as fast as possible!Hard Lesson learned.

Great grooming. Even gave me a discount for bringing in all 4 of my Yorkies at one time. Called me twice to make sure each dog was done properly. Highly recommended. All my babies smelled and looked amazing.

Wonderful staff, helpful, fun loving, pet loving. Cleanest pet kennels I have ever seen. They recently redecorated and made a beautiful place for dogs to run and play. They offer boarding, daycare and grooming services. Reasonable rates.

They were able to work around my dogs disability. Archie is incontinent and can't stand for long periods of time. He had a perfect cut in less time than I expected. They also have appointments not so far out. I was able to get in within the week. I most definitely will be a regular with both my boys!
