Disappointed I went for a Stihl hand held chainsaw accessory and was told they didn't have any. Found the saw on the bottom shelf out of the box. I would encourage the staff to familiarize themselves with their merchandise. I will find the accessory elsewhere.

Everything you expect from a small town hardware store. A highly knowledgeable owner, Ryan, and his team, make every effort to greet and help out every person that walks in the door. Very clean store, nice lay out, and good selection of merchandise. AND popcorn! Very invested in the people of the area; every smaller community should be so lucky.

I had a large deck paint project. I picked the wrong paint color and when I discovered it, Ryan took the time to get the already mixed paint to what I needed, and it was my mistake! I will always come here for painting needs and recommend others do the same. Ask for Ryan!

It's a hardware store but the shelves are half empty. They have what you need but not much of selection. And they close early so get there earlier in the day. The staff are really helpful and very friendly. They can duplicate keys and have a chainsaw section desk. The paint section is very expansive for such a small town store

Balsam Lake Hardware has everything I need! The staff is as helpful as could be, and there is always someone available to help me find something. I’ve been there the past 3 days in a row for various items for a boat project and they haven’t let me down. I’d recommended this place to anyone whether they’re working on home, auto, boat, or even looking for outdoor hunting and fishing gear.

This is an incredible place to do business. The family that runs the place is amazing as well. I've been doing business here for almost 6 years and today I had my first issue, and the issue was thru no fault of thier own. A piece of equipment i purchased from them had been giving me issues since it was new. Now that the warranty is expired we believe we have found the problem. without going into detail Brett and Ryan Stepped up and took care of the problem. Becausw of the way they handled it we ended up buying another from them as well as asking them to complete the repairs on the first one. There was no debate or resentment in the solution. i really hope it was a win for both parties. This is how business used to be done and should be done. I really would encourage everyone to support this business not just because they are local and family owned, do it because they deserve and have earned it. I cant sing thier praise enough. Thanks to Balsam Lake Hardware what could have been a big issue, is just a minor blip on the radar.
