The tasting room is always great with helpful staff. The Vino! Vino! service area is also enjoyable. My favorite wine is here- Angelique- as someone who likes a sweeter wine. My husband enjoys anything but a sweet wine and enjoyed a semi-dry red, the Malbec. We snacked on the Bruschetta Trio. It is overpriced, but I was hungry and enjoy bruschetta and had had it before! I was disappointed/surprised to see such a price jump on the Angelique bottled wine!Plus- the tapas bar was packed. The staff did a nice job with such a busy day! The tables/seating are tight. I'd rather sit a little right in order to be seated rather than have to wait longer for a bit more space!

Josie was great in helping us. Antipasto was good, the meatballs really good with no bread. Due to needing to be gluten free they did a good job. Wine was good but quite expensiveNice outdoor seating. Had a good time. Would go back. Staff was very nice.

Wine tasting was fun! Mark was knowledgeable and attentive! Experience changed when we moved to vino and tapas bar. Waiting for food was extremely long! When we asked our waiter, who quoted some difficulty with our food order, for some compensation we got a response from Roger(manager? owner?) who basically ignored us and said "oh well". Roger, I was not looking for a freebie(!) I was just hoping for a little bit of extra attention and a sympathetic word. I saw you mingling with other patrons but no time for us. I do not think I will be visiting this place anytime soon!

Pretty grounds, a nice selection of wines and on-site dining make this a nice place to visit. Our wine expert was very knowledgeable, although not very friendly. While they were able to fit our group of 9 in for a tasting, we first had to stand around for a while and wait for an open spot. This was after we called first, asked if we needed a reservation, were told we didn't, then upon entering the tasting room were asked if we had a reservation because they had nothing available. If you plan to go, I highly suggest you call ahead and insist on a reservation. Otherwise be prepared to wait.

What a fun experience! We decided to stop on a whim with our group of six friends. 2 of us experienced a wonderful tasting of wines in the tasting room while the other 4 headed to Vino, Vino next door for tapas and wine. We later joined them to find them having a great time chatting with Russell (the owner). He was hilarious and we loved listening to his stories. š The food was phenomenal - (the roast duck... out of this world!š¤¤) Our server, Amara (sp?), was perfectly attentive, and she did a fantastic job with our crazy group! We honestly couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the afternoon! Thanks for a great time Stone's Throw!

My wife and I flew out to Milwaukee and drove to Door County with some friends. They raved on and on and on about Stones Throw. We came in around 1pm and we were immediately greeted by a lady who told us some things about the winery. We then proceeded to a tasting counter where a gentleman named Tom who give us a very thorough talking to about the several different wines. He then started us with the whites. Then the reds and then the dessert wines. As we were leaving we noticed the āpour your own bottleā and my wife did that with the red blend they were offering. We had a great time here and loved everything.

Hands down the best wine tasting I've ever experienced in Wisconsin. I know many come to Door County area for the fruit wines.. though I appreciate a nice dry red.. and wow they knocked it out of the park. The wines are complex and well thought out. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. 100% will be returning!

Our favorite winery in Door County! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and many great wines to choose from. I love that they use California grapes since I am not a fan of sweet wines. My favorite is their Petit Verdot. We ordered the bruschetta as an app, which was also very good. Russell, the owner, could not have been nicer. We enjoyed chatting with him and sampling a few different wines. If youāre looking for a quality wine tasting with many delicious wines to choose from, this is the place!

My fiance and I were so excited to come here after a recommendation from a friend that said they have dry wines. The wine and food were good but the atmosphere felt so unbelievably pretentious. We were there mid-day in the middle of the week and there were only 3 other groups there at the time. The owner talked to everyone but us. Maybe because we are young? Maybe because we were out hiking beforehand so we were dressed down? But it definitely felt like we were judged for no reason and not welcome here.

$12 for six tastings of their premium wine and $8 for five tastings of their traditional wines. They have a tapas bar adjacent to the tasting room and a pizza place a few steps away. Great outdoor seating and great picture opportunities. The wine is bottle there but it appears that most of the grapes used are from California. I bought a bottle of "Big Mouth Red".

My husband and I did a tasting at Stones Throw and it did not disappoint! Sharon helped us navigate our way through the wines and was both professional and fun! Russell even came out for some wine and a chat and we left with some new favorites. This place is not to be missed when youāre in Door County!!

Girlfriend and I took a weekend trip to Door County. Did a little research in finding things to do before heading up there. Found this winery to be the best according to Pinterest. Wow, was it very wrong!! We did there and not sure where to really go. We ask at the front to order wine. But first you must be seated by someone. We get out at a high table but there are a bunch of other lower tables that were empty. It took our server 15 minutes to come to our table to get our order. We were about to leave, since who would wait so low to get someone. First I ask if we could get a lower table, apparently that's out of the question. The girl looked confused why we would want a different table but it was empty and open. Apparently it wasn't available though. I ask what the sweetest wine they have which is what I like. They tell me some brand and it was about $20 a glass. I figured I would try it out. We get our wines, it was absolutely disgusting. It wasn't sweet at all, it tasted dry and bitter, I could barely swallow it down. Plus our glass wasn't even a quarter full, it was about a drizzle. Like basically a sample of wine for $20!! Glad I didn't have a lot because of how gross it was. It took a long time to get our bill but we wanted to get out of there. It was just so disgusting and absolutely will never come back or recommend this winery to our door county friends.

Best wine in Door County. We had great staff attending to us both at the wine tasting and at the wine bar connected. It has the feel of a California wine bar and has prices to match, but we loved it so much we went twice on our weekend trip to the area.

Spent Labor Day doing a few wine tastings in door county. We visited 4 wineryās and had a great time tasting, talking, and learning. Most of the tastings ranged from $5 to $10 to free ā¦ until we got to Stones Throw. The tasting flight was $18 and we were promptly told No Sharing. It was interesting - no other place had an issue with sharing. Itās not about the price - we can certainly afford the $18 bucks. Itās more about splitting the small samples with my wife to enjoy and discuss together. At every other place we shared our flights, ordered full glasses and bought a few bottles. Needless to say we said goodbye to Stone Throw and wonāt be back. Wine tasting tours should be fun - certainly not as pretentious at this one.

Stones Throw is a breath of fresh air in a sweet wine environment. Their wine is fantastic and service also equally as good. Facility is set up perfectly to enjoy all they have to offer. All the food we had was prepared perfectly and we enjoyed almost everything on the menu. It was a special occasion for us with the celebration of our daughters birthday. The venue made this special day GREAT.I would recommend this to all who enjoy good wine and a special place to enjoy it.

I specifically came here for dry wines because I'm not a big fan of sweet wines which are very popular in Door County. This winery offers beautiful grounds and comfortable seating areas which I couldn't enjoy because they didn't offer the outdoor seating for us! We came here in the late afternoon to enjoy great wines and the surroundings while the kids play outside but we were told we can't be outside, we need to stay in the room and taste the wines one by one. I'm used to order wine flights and taste them in the order I want and share them with my husband. We always order different flights, then taste them and share, and then buy a few bottles for our wine closet and to enjoy with out friends. We talk to each other, watch our kids playing and always have a great time while spending time in wineries. Here in this winery they offered a totaly different approach - you need to stay inside, stand and taste wines. I wanted to have a flight of premium wines but I left this winery with the huge dissapointment. This is a very different experience for me and I've been to wine tastings in California, Midwest and Europe. I cannot recommend...

Not nearly enough parking!! Staff and customers were incredibly rude plus pricing was incredibly highly outrageous!! Tasting room was so full but found an opening by the bar at which time we were told to wait by staff. While waiting for over 20 minutes we weren't even offered a tasting menu to preview. When staff was finally ready to serve us we were asked to stand in a single file 3 person line even though there were people around us not sampling. Will not be returning.

This is, hands down, our favorite winery in Door County! My husband and I have been coming here for almost 10 years and itās always a must-stop on our visits. On our most recent stop we discovered that our toddler LOVED the meatballs, so much so that we had to stop back 4x so he could get his fix. Russell, the owner, couldnāt have been sweeter. There are so many establishments in the Chicagoland area where they treat you like youāre the best when youāre there but then donāt know who you are when you return. This couldnāt be further from the truth here. Russell greeted our son each time like he was his own grandchild.I could not recommend this place more to anyone visiting the Door Peninsula, especially if you love great reds and amazing Italian bites!

Very friendly & attentive staff. A bit disappointed that they ship their grapes in from California & then charge a more than average rate for their wines and merchandise. Limited sweet wines & their wines had an average taste.

We were a large group of 18, Bachelorette party. We tried to make a reservation beforehand and could not. When we arrived we were asked if we made a reservation. We told them we weren't able to and were told we could not be accommodated. We were sent next door and decided to have some glasses of wine - Overly priced, arrogant staff. Would NEVER come here again. We spoke with various wineries in the Door County area and they have all heard the horror stories about Stone's Throw Winery, turning away people, arrogant staff, rude, I could go on and on. Someone said they should just move to California, since they seem to think they're the California type. Horrible experience.

No outdoor tasting. We did have the wood fire pizza, but had to purchase a whole bottle without tasting. Wine choices were from California. Although the Rose was good, and the crust on the pizza was crisp. Many good local wineries, this was not our favorite.

This is such a pretty place to visit and enjoy a taste of wine. There is a companion wine bar called Vino Vino that is a nice place for a glass of wine and has great patio and outdoor seating with bocce courts as well. (But not a dog friendly patio.) Having been here numerous times over the years, I can say the wine is always good and they have a nice variety, without any of that touristy overly sweet cherry or apple wine that you get in a lot of Door County wineries. The reason I cannot give it a higher rating is that over the years, the prices have gone so high. The grapes are imported from California, and frankly, you can get great Napa and Sonoma wines at the wine store for half the price. Also, the tastings are pricey with two different levels you can buy, but they used to include a glass in the price of the tasting so we always did it, because we like the glasses for everyday wine drinking. Now you have to pay separately if you want a glass to take home, and the tastings have not gone down in price as a result. I realize that inflation has taken its toll on everything, but here, the changes have taken this place fromāItās pricey but we enjoy stopping in for a tasting and a few bottles while we are hereā to ā there is just no reason to buy the overpriced wines. Not even a glass with the tasting, not worth stopping anymore unless maybe you want a glass on the patio at Vino Vino.ā We are sad to cross this place off of our list of regular stops when we visit.

Excellent place! The owner is Italian and his wife is Greek. We had some excellent dry wines there. We all agreed the wines were remarkable, not sweet, although they have them we just didn't taste them. They get their grapes from Napa and the wines are better for that! We also had some real Italian Bruschetta (tomato, garlic and olive) as well as their meatballs. I felt like I was back in Italy with the Sangiovese and Bruschetta! Perfect afternoon!

Great atmosphere, beautifully curated Italian & American wine selection...and most importantly, a charismatic & charming owner! Well worth the short detour from the Door County Beltline! The service is very warm & personalized, so best to call ahead if you're traveling with a large group.Already looking forward to my next visit!
