Great place. Staff and volunteers really care about the animals. I have adopted several animals from here. A couple of them have been special cases. they have always been very helpful and upfront when they knew an animal had issues and I was prepared for it when I adopted them.

The people there are very nice and tried to help me keep my fur baby Wawasum...see my son and I are moving come June but because of my health issues I needed time to get over giving my cat up to them so he may have a new family...for my son and I will be moving over a thousand miles away and will be homeless for about a year until housing has us a place to live...and to me putting an animal through that is cruel...so I had to give him up

This was our first visit. The staff was very nice. They allowed us to take the cats out of the cage and play with them. They took the time to tell us about all the dogs that we asked about. They knew we weren't planning to adopt, just getting our cat & dog fix but still took time for us.

It was an amazing experience, I brought 2 of my clients to walk dogs. They enjoyed it so much we will be coming back every week. The dogs were so happy to get out for a little bit. It felt so good helping out.

The Chequaumegon Humane Association has been apart of my life for so long now. The two cats in the photos are my two black kitties, Binx and Panther, both adopted from the shelter. The customer service is spectacular, informative, caring, and understanding. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have my two best friends with me now.Thank you, Chequaumegon Humane Association!

Went for a meet and greet to see if a dog would fit with our other dogs. Unfortunately, she didn't but she's in a great place until she finds her forever home. The staff if AWESOME here and the facility is great too.

Great organization that helped us to adopt a shy little Chiweenie into our home. They scheduled a time with us to meet the dog and spend a couple hours with him before making a decision.Friendly and helpful staff answered all our questions.

The new place is awesome and always recommend going for shelter dogs first but make sure you get things in writing or make sure the cameras are on and recording because the communication skills there are not the greatest what happened to us isn't a real big problem as long as we are the only ones it has happened to if not someone should get fired getting animals from a pound should not be that hard or that stressful if you have little ones it would have been catastrophic . To try and take a puppy from little ones that you told you are picking up on this day and you do.And you do long enough for to children to bound with and they do and then asked to bring the puppy back catastrophic just make double sure before you leave that the pet you choose is really the one you can take home protect yourself from a potential headache. Thank God our kids are all grown up . But still a tainted beginning to a perfect dog's life !!! But please still go and adopt first then look other places

New larger place VERY nice. Staff helpful about handling cats and kittens. Then adopted a cat that had been there 5 months from a hoarding situation. Someone had paid her adoption fee. Gave advice about vets since I'm new to Ashland. Showed how to clip a cat's nails. Said I could bring the cat I adopted to them if needed help clipping her nails. Also could call with any questions.

They over sold the pup we got . Said we had 30 days to decide but kept the whole adoption fee when they said they'd return it if it didn't work out with the dog. They misled us on her agression, running off, going to the bathroom everywhere in the house and pretty much destroying the house. Despite all of her bad habits we were committed to keeping her. It was her running off every time there was a crack in the door that had us bring her back. I understand their need to find a home for her but their lies , half truths and misleading us assures us they would be the last place we would go back to.
