Co-ops can be a bit expensive from time to time, so it can be hard to buy all of my groceries here- but I'd love to if I could! They bring in such great things. My wife and I just moved up here from the Twin Cities and are both vegan- we both agree that we wouldn't be able to stay here if it weren't for the co-op and its great vegan options. They even started bringing in vegan baked goods which is giving me life! I love the people and the atmosphere as well.

This is one of our favorite places to visit when we're in the area. Considering they are relatively small compared to most grocery stores, they have an amazing selection of products.One of my favorite features to this coop is they make an outstanding effort to supply locally-produced foods and products.In addition to a variety of fresh produce canned goods boxed Goods chips Frozen Foods Etc, they also have a small kitchen where they produce Fresh Soups that are for sale in addition to several other Deli items like dips and guacamole.They do a good job of labeling allergens on food products they produce in store and they seem to be cognizant of cross contamination issues.This Coop store has been clean every time we visited including the restrooms.Many of their items are priced competitively for what they are, however I will occasionally notice an item that is drastically more expensive than what I'm accustomed to paying, if that's an issue for you, it is worthwhile paying close attention to the prices.They do offer memberships in the coop however you are able to purchase Goods without a paid membership.

I have been a Chequamegon Food Coop member for almost twenty years now and this is my favorite place to shop. Some people say co ops are expensive but, when you buy bulk, I find it manageable. The keys to eat that produce and cut out the junk. It is amazing what you can afford when you eliminate the toxic, industrial waste that many consider part of their grocery budget. Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food. Sorry if this sounds self-righteous... I am still battling to fend off our society's unhealthy and environmentally destructive "food" industry. The coop is our best ally.

My family and I have been Coop members and weekly shoppers here for about 25 years now. It's a great place to buy fresh, healthy foods and flavors from around the world. And, it is a place to always see someone you know and feel a sense of community. The staff are always available to help you find things, to engage in a friendly, supportive way, and even to call you personally on the phone if you forgot an item at the store! Lastly, they have the best coffee for sale anywhere. 😀

It is a pleasure to shop at the Cheq Food Co-op. For a small community such as Ashland to have a full-service food cooperative, with its beautiful mural, helpful community posting board, friendly staff, and great array of organic and fair trade food, gifts, household items, flowers, and take out foods is miraculous. The hours are consistent and long -- one of the few places downtown that stays open long enough during the week and on weekends so that us first shift workers have a chance to access it. Keep up the great work!

Great place to get spices and such.... always have the best in stock. Also always great fresh produce and a number of great dairy items. You should also try the delicious deli items. Try the delicious soups. Another good find are the sprouted grain breads.

While I find unique items not found in other food stores in Ashland, I feel very uncomfortable when I shop there. I feel I am being judged for being an older white male and for the way I dress, conservatively.I shop and anxious to check out.

Bright, beautiful grocery store with high quality produce (local and/or organic when possible), pantry staples, large bulk section for grains/seeds/nuts/coffee (and a DIY peanut butter machine that my kids love), beer, some grab and go food options. Lots of hard-to-find foods and things that cater toward different food preferences/diets— vegan, gf, etc. Large parking lot and friendly staff. We love this store!

The store smells WONDERFUL! Huge variety of products and items, with a selection you cannot find anywhere else and everything is organic! Local seasonal produce and other products, bulk products, etc, and you can special order things by the case. Very friendly and helpful staff, too! I shop there for all these reasons and just enjoy the store as a whole.

It’s like a whole foods.Spent the evening in Ashland and popped in while out walking around. Very clean place with a surprisingly variety of fresh produce and good-looking products. Very friendly staff. Prices looked fair too. There is a prepared food section with a sitting area. We’ll definitely be stopping for a bite next time we’re in town.

They have a fantastic fresh produce. Also, their selection of local favorites was lovely. You can't go wrong with a hearty loaf of bread from the Ashland Baking Company and a jar of local jam or jelly. Delish! I am definitely willing to pay a little bit more for the quality. Plus, this establishment helps support local farmers!

The Chequamegon Food Co-Op always has a fresh stock of clean, delicious food. Although the prices are a bit steep at times depending on what it is you buy, the quality of the products more than makes up for it. You can buy items in bulk here, which is very useful and cost worthy. There is also a place where you can buy hand-made salads, sandwiches, and baked goods which have Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free, and Dairy Free options, so there is always something for everyone to eat regardless of dietary restrictions.

An excellent place to stop for a quick meal and snacks on a home trip. Artists have been working on a really beautiful mural on the side of the building that faces the parking lot (there is ample parking). There's a friendly room where you can eat what you bought, and in the room there is a great Little Free Library.
