Vande Hey Co, was our third attempt, in 4 years, to find a landscape company with small town values and work ethic. Our third attempt paid off big time. I called and spoke to Ryan who was extremely nice and talked with me for awhile, He then offered to come out to personally to meet with me and walk through our property to discuss what we were looking for. Ryan arrived exactly on time and was as friendly in person. He took the time to listen, make suggestions and discuss timing. He said he would put together a proposal and get it to me shortly. ONE day later I had the proposal. It was reasonable so we decided to proceed. Two weeks later Austin showed up to do the spring clean up. He was polite and very meticulous about his work. We talked about a few things that I wanted to make sure got done and he was receptive to everything. He did an absolutely fantastic job with all our plants . When he finished he asked if I would like to walk the yard to make sure everything was completed that I wanted. He was incredible!! What other landscape company cares that much? Ryan, and Austin, are a great asset to the Vande Hay team. In addition, if I ever had a question Ryan responded in a very timely manner which I appreciate. The overall experience was fantastic. I cannot say enough about Vande Hey Landscaping. I pretty much had resigned to finding an "average" landscaping company to do our work instead I found a superior one. If you are looking for a great landscaping co. that actually cares about your property and takes pride in their work then call Ryan! I can guarantee you wont be disappointed. Going forward they will be our new company all our landscaping needs. Thanks again Ryan for everything! Troy

Staff and service beats the competition hands down! Everyone was so courteous and respectful. Spent time with us to answer questions and offer suggestions. Andy, et all; Cindy & I are very happy how this turned out. I also wanted to say how great your guys were. We really appreciate the way they respected our property, our neighbors, and made us feel very comfortable with the job they were doing. The way they protected our existing lawn for damage. The way they swept up any dirt, stone, etc. from the road that was spilt while working- and never left a mess! The guys on the job site never made us feel like we were asking too many questions. And took the time to answer all questions. After 26 years fixing this area of our lawn every spring, it will be nice seeing green grass year round. Job Well Done!

They installed an in ground pool in the middle of the winter…come spring I noticed cracks in the shell of the pool. No one wanted to listen to me. No one wanted to come and take a look and no one wanted to entertain my conversation. Another year passed and now the pool has cracks everywhere. VandeHey said they were superficial and just in the resin gel coat and could easily be buffed out. I drained the pool…a service man came to buff out cracks and found out I was right the entire time. The cracks cannot be buffed out…they are within the pool shell, so it is now a warranty issue. Ive been waiting months for a date on when the repairs would be made…and now I have been ghosted by them completely. They wont give me the warranty claim number for the pool manufacturer…and it is now going on 2 and a half years. The cracks continue to spread and Im left with a damaged pool for $40,000!!!!! Lack of honesty…communication…and acknowledgement of the mistakes made during installation. Frustration and anger …..and Im still waiting for an answer…..

I feel terrible that it has taken me 3 weeks to post a review but I have been too busy admiring my beautiful yard. Now that it is sadly leaf covered at the moment, I must say, everyone at Vande Hey was wonderful. Their customer service was top notch, even assisting with determining the correct amount of mulch to order so I didn't over order, and I was contacted the day prior to the landscapers arrival. The landscapers were wonderful in helping remove the weeds I didn't get to as well as a wayward tree/weed I didn't have the tools to remove myself. Fantastic job from start to finish. Amazing landscape company, very helpful staff, very reliable, the quality of their work and craftsmanship is flat out astonishing, if you live in the Fox Valley and are thinking about redoing your outdoor living space I recommend you call this company first, they are also a 1 stop shop for all outdoor living space needs, they have an amazing retail center, with out door kitchen and patio needs as well anything you might need for your plants at home to give them the boost for better growth or benefit the health of the plant, and also have a really amazing nursery on site full of local and exotic plants to choose from. Also check out their grilling guys during the summer, they smoke different foods and have an Open bar, it’s for the public and doesn’t cost much at all, is a great experience for date night with the significant other great food and drinks as well as a learning experience with the amazing product called the green egg. I will give them 5 stars over everyday, Vande Hey has seriously impressed me.

We hired Vande Hey company in late winter of 2021 to do a significant amount of landscaping around our new house starting in late spring 2021. They said that "yes," we were early enough with our request that starting at that time would be reasonable. We were completely railroaded by this company. We continued to call, and call, and call, hoping for them to put us on our calendar. They did not come until October and even then they forgot to do some things and had to come back to finish (and this certainly was not immediate). After they were done, they were supposed to do a walk around with us to make sure everything looked good. We called and called again, no response. So, now, this week, with snow, in WINTER they want to do a walk around. Not only this, but every time we called our person was NEVER there and sometimes it would take up to 3 or 4 weeks for her to respond. WORST company ever. I would NOT recommend. High priced and service is absolutely terrible.

Vande hey did a fairly large project for my very elderly parents. We worked with John and after several revisions to the plan, contracted and paid half down. They were advised if the work couldn’t be completed last fall they would be one of the first on the spring schedule. That spring John met with my parents, as he was leaving the company, and introduced Phil. It did take quite a long time but the work finally was completed. They needed to come back several times to correct plantings placed too high, bushes and plants that died, etc. Phil was very polite, patient and understanding. There was confusion on what my parents contracted for and the work done. With a change in personnel, it made matters even more difficult. It would be best for an itemized bill to be given with each quote so the customer can see how the actual costs change as revisions are made. All in all, Phil was fantastic and Vande hey Landscaping came through and did everything my parents wanted, PLUS MORE, so they were happy with the end result.Thank you for being so understanding and caring!!

I have had Vande Hey Company do a variety of projects for me including landscape beds, landscape lighting, and hardscape projects at different homes. On the sales side they were courteous and accommodating. Their project bids were on the more expensive side, but I always believed I got what I paid for. Until recently, I thought I was satisfied with their work, but that brings me to the point of this review.Over the past couple of years I have been watching a retaining wall they installed for me gradually collapse. A couple of years ago, it began bowing and developing gaps between the blocks which worsened over time. I called them to evaluate the wall and was told it was out of warranty. They gave me a repair estimate which was shocking to say the least-even with a repeat customer discount! This was unacceptable service to a loyal customer. I got a second opinion from another local landscape contractor and received a bid that was 1/4 the cost of Vande Hey's bid so I hired them for the repair.Once they deconstructed the wall, the reason for the failure became obvious: it was not designed or constructed properly to handle water coming to it from the existing grade. There was no granular backfill behind the wall, there was no geogrid, and there was no drainage at the base of the wall, all of which I have now at a fraction of the Vande Hey repair bill. I believe the design of the wall should have factored in the existing slope toward the wall and the obvious water this would bring to the wall.This review reflects my dissatisfaction with Vande Hey Company's hardscape design and lack of durability, lack of reasonable customer support, and my cost to repair their work. I believe a properly designed and constructed wall would have had much more longevity. Had Vande Hey been more accommodating on the repair cost, I would have given them a better rating and remained a loyal customer.

Not professional at all. Called them thrice, talked to the receptionist twice and was directed to the voicemail once. They noted my personal info and told me Todd will call back within a day. No one ever did. That does not inspire confidence. I will not recommend them.

On a whim my friend and I stopped in just to stroll around one afternoon and what a treat that turned out to be! We were met in the store by Debra who was very friendly but not pushy or intrusive. When it started to rain later she rescued us by inviting us into the she shed where she was making a living wreath! So beautiful! What a great gift idea. Customers are invited to stroll around the grounds and pick their own items from the living plants and then they proceed to help you make in into a wreath! Shortly after that Debra wrestled one of the grounds people out of their golf cart so she could give us a ride to see everything they grow. Ended up signing up for their Grilling Guys events cooking demonstration for September which will be held in the beautiful outdoor kitchen area! This place is like NO OTHER landscape and green house in the area! Debra was so nice!

I’ve used Vande hey 4 times in the last 3 years for larger projects at both my home and my businesses. I’ve always had a great results. It’s been my experience that they stand behind their product and I’ve had no issues getting concerns resolved. I’m writing my review because of the most recent project at my home. This project I had the please of working with Phil P. The entire time I felt like I understood what we were doing, why they/we wanted to do it and what it was going to cost. They were flexible and worked with me when my wife or I wanted to make a change last minute and they met and delivered on 2 deadlines (one of which was completely on the fly, required an excavator, and they somehow got it done in the 2 week deadline I begged them to make). My wife Nicole and I couldn’t be more pleased with the product. Phil really delivered thank you. Regarding the review by the gentleman below, I’m sorry you had that experience with Scoob. I believe he is Phil’s boss and I have had the pleasure to meet him several times during my projects. I make it a point to speak with the guys working at my house or my businesses and I’ve never heard anything but positive things about him. Ive seen him stop and check on the crew multiple times during each project I’ve worked with him on. More impressively he’s always known about the conversations I’ve had with his crews and most recently on this project with Phil. To me that says Scoob cares enough to make sure he knows what’s going on with his crew and his customers. Thank you Scoob, Phil, Manny and the rest of the guys for the great job. I look forward to working with you in the future.

We had multiple problems with this company. First, we were overcharged. We were promised a discount for paying in full and paying with cash or check. While a discount was given, it was incorrectly calculated. The error was over $100 and would not have been caught if not for an itemized bill. And I did not receive that until I hounded them for over a month for that. Secondly, we were owed 2 rose bushes that were not available at the end of the year. After waiting for most of spring, I finally called them in May to have them put in. They also had to replace most of the landscape that had died in winter. After being told it would be 2 weeks for the plants to be replaced, I am still waiting for them to set up an appointment after 3 plus weeks. The only positive was our landscape designer Jeremy. Otherwise, steer clear!

Vande Hey is uncourteous and unprofessional. Pass on this company.Chaos on the highway was caused by one of their drivers who packed a significant quantity of rocks in the back of an uncovered trailer at highway speeds. Golf ball sized stones were flung all over the highway and a few damaged my windshield. Naturally I called them and their insurance company, and I was told I would receive a call back. I never received the call, and I'm left to fit the bill for the damages caused by their drivers.Vande Hey is not a company to do business with.

The absolute worst company in the valley to deal with. Expensive, slow, and less than stellar work. Crew bosses treat their help like dirt, are disrespectful to them and the customers. One in particular they call Scoob. This man has no place being a supervisor. Highly recommend you look at other companies and consider this one as a last resort. Any company that employs people that treat their help the way he does doesn't deserve your money.

Took several days to call back. At the end, highest prices in the Valle for the least responsive service.
