I rarely give five stars cuz nothing's perfect. But the owners of this place are in so incredibly compassionate. I have never seen owners treat their employees as good as these people. Outstanding people. That alone is worth five stars! They have good prices their selection is good it's got good energy good selection of vitamins they have a little Deli or you can get smoothie drinks and stuff and it's friendly. The way the owners run the store and with good employees that are friendly this is what it used to be like 35 years ago:-)

Don’t let this little hidden gem pass by! They have a selection of natural and wholesome offerings that rivals a Whole Foods- but none of the crowds or bougie people. Great deli and handmade offerings, local coffee, meats, honey…. They are a one stop shop for all of your grocery and wellness needs!

This is the best kept secret in the Fox Cities! I love the local and organic produce options!Their deli makes fresh salads and grab-and-go items everyday. Almost everything from the deli is GLUTEN FREE.As people complain about prices, I will say that I needed two random items: bagged organic basmati rice and also Alden's organic ice cream for my husband. We were near Woodman's, so we stopped, and they had both items: the rice for $9.49 and the ice cream for $10.99, we did NOT buy either item because I thought they were too expensive. We continued on to The Free Market and they had the rice for $7.99 and the ice cream for $9.99, so we bought them from The Free Market, so BOTH items we needed were less expensive at TFM. We love supporting small local businesses and they obviously are doing their best to keep prices as affordable as possible.Oh, and my son absolutely LOVES getting a juice from the deli. He likes to get the Enzyme Blast.

Literally heaven for all-natural lovers! No BPAs or food dyes too be seen- from natural body products to cleaners/detergents, fresh produce to safe cabinet foods this place has everything you ever need and more! Definetly worth a stop. Will not be shopping anywhere else from now on!

If you’re looking for unique meats, veggies, and dairy, healthy options, or organic selection, this is the spot! I am thrilled to find many goat products here. They also have bison meat. I love the fresh smoothies available at the deli. Amazing bulk selection with good value. Employees are always friendly.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are higher than expected but the quality matches the price. Solid selection for a small shop, lots of vegan and keto options. My only complaint are the woke patrons wearing chin diapers and running away from free people.

This place is THE best. Very high quality, nutritious, real food! Amazing mushrooms and so much more. Grass-fed milk and yogurt and other dairy products. Excellent Kombucha on tap. They also make fresh hummus and other similar tasty treats that are not overloaded with salt like you get elsewhere. Glad I finally discovered this place after having moved to Appleton about a year ago.

I loved it. We’re from Eugene so I’m used to natural grocers, market of choice and local co-ops. free market reminded me of home. They’ve got great fresh smoothies and juice. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick and healthy lunch

The overall upgrades that The Free Market has made to their stores makes shopping way more fluid. Easy to navigate, lots of variety in produce. Reasonable prices and great staff. Always a little busy, but never unexpected.

Love going here. Full groceries that are natural and/or organic. They have a full department of supplements, essential oils, and beauty products.The have a deli with fresh made salads and dips. They also have fresh daily soups and smoothies.

I visited today and spoke w the owner. I wish all businesses in this world were based on regenerative farming like this one. Small business is the backbone of this country. I tell you there is only one way to reduce carbon emissions and fight the good fight w climate change properly. All other social issues could heal if we all got on board w this type of commerce. Our voice is w our dollar and I plan on spending more here. I purchased some avocado oil, and some grass finished grass fed beef. 🙏

Had a lot of healthy, organic options that my family loves! When I checked out I was asked if I had a membership and I said I wasn't sure. They looked it up and I didn't. All they told me was you had to pay for it. (Sorta made me feel awkward like it was a club you needed to be invited into) So I asked how much! I was given a cost...but not what was included or anything. Wish I would've been told more or asked if I wanted to join...😒

Love this little store. I require eating organic when I was traveling the quality brands I purchase at home were many of the same brands they carry here. This gave me blessed assurance it was safe for me to eat. We found amazing kombucha on tap which later our local store started to carry. Thank you for your awesome store and friendly employees.

Very impressed by the store! My son requires grainfree foods and probiotics and will be attending college this fall. Wonderful selections, great store hours, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We even found products new to us for him to try! I'm so relieved that he'll have access to The Free Market!

Fantastic little grocery/goods store. I was looking for this specific a2 milk and found them in my search, they keep it stocked.Lots of goodies here, you HAVE to try the Meyer Lemon tarts. Tons of good chocolate and cheese selections.Some items are a bit marked up but prices overall aren't bad for this kind of store.

This place makes me wish I lived in Appleton. I try to stop whenever I’m in town. The selection is great, with organic and local brands.The employees are always friendly and helpful. Unrelated to the store itself, but when I went out to my car after shopping, there was a giant spider on my mirror. I know, I’m ridiculous, but it’s a phobia of mine (and the thing was like silver dollar size). I tried to swat it with something and it skittered behind the mirror where I couldn’t reach. An employee saw me having my minor freak out, came over, and used my flashlight & her hand to dig the spider out and release it humanely (far away from me lol) So you could say they go above and beyond!

The Free Market is a beautiful, earth-conscious store which is perfect for customers who are looking for sustainable, organic, vegan, local and bulk options. There is even a cafe in the back to buy fresh sandwiches and beverages.While I appreciate the bulk option, I wish that the current container system could be amended; right now, you are required to buy and put a deposit onto the store's Mason jars instead of just using your own. Also, for an eco-friendlier store, I'm always quite surprised by just how much plastic lines the shelves.Ultimately, this store is a wonderful option relative to big-name retailers, but I would love to see an even deeper commitment to sustainability!

Really nice owners and staff. Only reason for 4 stars is that they have no prepared food/hot food. Although - I did speak to a gentleman (I think a manager?) who said they’re working on it!What they DO have is an impressive supplements/vitamins section, lots of great health food and organic brands, some fresh produce, and a wicked juice bar! (Seriously, the green juice they make is delicious and made to order). I imagine the smoothies are good too.Got some hummus from a local maker and it was quite good. Also enjoyed some fresh local kombucha (they have it on tap).Prices were average for a store that sells the brands that they do (ie not cheap but I don’t think they’re charging any more than Whole Foods for example).
