Did a walk-in to get my dogs nails trimmed. A groomer named Karlee took her. Told the groomer that my dog gets nervous when in the salon. The groomer didn’t seem to care. She dragged my dog to the back. Apparently my dog bit her when she was getting the nails trimmed. My dog has NEVER bitten anyone let alone be aggressive. The groomer couldn’t get the front paws done. I was watching the whole time and she was really mistreating my dog. As she was handing my dog back over, she reached in my dogs face to get the leash. If she was trained properly, she would’ve first let my dog sniff her before even handling her. Never greeted herself to my dog or anything. And if she was trained she would know not to reach in a dogs face in distress. I have NEVER been so mistreated Myles let alone my dog. Very pissed off and never going back there. Filing a complaint against the groomer Karlee. Never had my dog be so mistreated before. Don’t trust any of the groomers at Petco.

My son and I went there to buy fish and some accessories for the fish tank. There were different animals they have guinea pig, dwarf hamster, and some variety of fish. The lady that assist us she’s so nice. 😇👍

Today we Had our dog Alfa go in for a complete grooming. We Asked for his tail and legs to be cut and to just trim his body. He is a double coated dog and we would have never expected a groomer to be so uneducated to CUT our dogs body hair. They cut at least 2in off of his body, in some places on him you can only see the under coat and not his top coat. Very disappointed to say the least. We will not be going back to this petco for grooming services and I would hope they improve their training for groomers in the future so that this does not happen again. Not to mention they had us pay before we even got to see our dog, unfortunately we included a tip also. Do not recommend!! First image is today, after being cut. 2nd image is what he looked like after a grooming at the petco across town. Such a disappointment getting our dog back to look like this.

Ok place just have to really check between their online prices and store prices . Way different. Also I really dislike the fact they have a sort of food reward program . You buy a certain number bags of food like dog food and after that certain amount your suppose to get a free bag . Sounds great but their website and members accounts don't track it and sometimes we buy a big bag that lasts our dog over a month . So tracking is very hard with that.

As of late I’ve been going into this petco location very frequently as I’ve just purchased a French bulldog puppy. Sarah is ALWAYS smiling, super helpful, friendly and she always makes my day when I come in and she is working. She deserves a raise for all her hard work and amazing customer service.

Petco is a joke. The most unprofessional & rude individual I have ever dealt with. I have been going to Petco since my dog was a puppy. Went to location near Fox River Mall. Never again. Manager Kit was a child in pigtails and was horrible at communicating with me as the customer. Now I see why the other location on East Calumet closed down their grooming center. Don’t waste your money. Tried to notify corporate three times and no one responded. They don’t care!

My dog grooming experience was awful at the beginning and the end. The attitude from the girls in there. My dog pooped on the floor at the end and had blood in his poop, but wasn’t sick BEFORE he went in there and he’s not sick now but he’s clearly depressed and not the same dog. Idk what you did to my dog but his personality isn’t the same. He also came home really smelly, did you even wash him?

Karlee and all the other employees are great. My dog is blind and I never have to worry about him when I bring him here.

I'd honestly give them negative stars if I could. I liked Clare A for my small dog and I would go back just for her. Once started introducing our youngest large puppy to them it was a different story and they are just incapable of handling bigger dogs. They didn't even try to finish giving him a full service the second time we brought him over. The two groomers acted rude and when we had called management to complain they did absolutely nothing. Definitely disappointed in their services.

Petco doesn’t share the proper information for taking care of reptiles, (ex. they give repticarpet, inaccurate thermometers etc. in their reptile kits. I personally think that Petco should be trying to inform their customers the proper way to take care of pets. Instead of trying to make money off their customers

The checkout line had six people in it with more coming before a second cashier opened a lane. The line I was waiting in was, as usual, a mess of clutter which deprives the customer of a space to set down their purchases. The employee, a regular, was virtually ignoring the customers while claiming victimhood. " I have ADD, they never hire anyone normal here". "They never told me that dealing with bugs would be part of my job". "We are always short staffed". All this before the inevitable shake down to donate money to whatever cause of the day.Additionally, it has been months since the store restocked the canned food my animal prefers. Order online you say? The last time we did that, the canned product was different in that huge globs if yellow fat were predominant which made our animal sick! Pretty fed up with the lack of consistency and professionalism.

My daughter and I went there to get bird food. There were different animals there that we liked at. The lady at the checkout was very nice and informative. I would recommend this place for pet food and you can take your dog along on a leash.

They have great small animals that live longer. I got my hamster 6 months ago and she is going strong. We recently got our guinea pig here and he is the best and such a sweet heart. Update on our guinea pig, Frank, he has turned one recently and is still strong and healthy. He is a great addition to our family.

Petco has good prices on grain-free cat food. Staff were friendly but they kept trying to sell this weird pet care plan on me when I was checking out. I know that's Petco corporate's fault, not the employees'.

Groomers are great.But no one ever answers a phone. Or calls back. I’ve tried time and time again to just get a single person on a phone and nothing. I scheduled a grooming appointment a little over two weeks go for a specific time. And today I get a text to confirm his grooming appointment and it’s two hours after I had scheduled it for. No word on why, no reasoning. Just a completely different time frame. Pretty obnoxious if you ask me. And still no call back. And still no one answering any of the phones. Ridiculous.

Extremely kind and personable. The gentleman by the fish struck up a convo while I waited for my wife to arrive and the lady at the register was extremely kind while my son threw a fit for not getting a ball he wanted. She even offered to give my son the ball with a free product voucher she had (my son needs to learn how to deal with not getting what he wants so i declined the offer). So kind and understanding!

I have the same complaint with the last petco. Employees don't know a thing about their animals. They do the bare minimum to take care of them. They sold us stuff that killed more than half of our fish tank. They handle their animals with no care. The animals are malnourished and reptile tanks are set almost always way to high in temperature. Get new people who know how to take care of animals, or deal with having less customers.

I am currently laid up with pins in my toes and cannot walk for extended periods. My husband went just now at 5pm to get crickets. I forgot to tell him that you get them at the front check out. My husband seen a big line and asked a worker, dark har guy with a beard, if he could get him so crickets. Instead of helping him and opening another register, the guy goes outside to check carts. My husband asked the checkout gal if there was someone else who could help and she stated it was her and the guy. My husband left. Part of it was my fault not telling my husband to get them at the front desk but I believe the guy could have opened another register to help out the line so all people would be happy and satisfied. Am I wrong? Usually I get great service.

As usual the east side store is a mess, I only shop here for cat litter now, rarely anything else; there are 2 other pet supply stores across town that I prefer. The usual - empty food shelves but cart loads of product stacked waiting to be put in place. The toy area was almost empty. Friendly, great employees though. BUT---I was just informed the store is going green and is charging 10 cents for a bag, no big deal, REI does the same. The difference though is Petco doesn't tell you until check out, I asked when this went into effect, I was told last February (this is now September), so have I been charged a fee the few times I bought cat food, supplies or toys? I was also told that there WERE small signs at the check-outs but some had peeled off. I suggested a big sign on the door, you know, cute animals, the environment etc. since we are all pet lovers, letting people know to bring in their own bag since PETCO is going green and will charge for bags now. I would have simply returned to my Jeep and picked up a bag (I keep a few for stores that don't offer bags) and came back in. There are signs around the store asking to please excuse the mess due to remodeling, can't wait for it to start since the signs have been up for months but the store hasn't changed at all. FYI - Petsmart & Pet Supplies Plus are a 25 minute drive across town but that is where I go to shop for my pets, east side PETCO is 7 minutes from my house, west side PETCO is 35 minutes.

Went to buy my 4yr old nephew a goldfish and had a “goldfish bowl” with it. Was told that they couldn’t sell me a fish with that bowl. Are you serious? What kind of BS is that? Maybe Petco should make a sign to warn customers! Never going back to ANY Petco! To top it off, the lady was rude!!!
